KJV ¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

KJV ² Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

KJV ³ Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

KJV ⁴ And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

S21 ⁴ et ils décidèrent d'arrêter Jésus par ruse et de le faire mourir.

KJV ⁵ But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

S21 ⁵ Cependant, ils se dirent: «Que ce ne soit pas pendant la fête, afin qu'il n'y ait pas d'agitation parmi le peuple.»

KJV ⁶ Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

KJV ⁷ There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

KJV ⁸ But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

KJV ⁹ For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

S21 ⁹ On aurait pu vendre ce parfum très cher et donner l'argent aux pauvres.»

KJV ¹⁰ When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

S21 ¹⁰ Le sachant, Jésus leur dit: «Pourquoi faites-vous de la peine à cette femme? Elle a accompli une bonne action envers moi.

KJV ¹¹ For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

S21 ¹¹ En effet, vous avez toujours des pauvres avec vous, mais vous ne m'aurez pas toujours.

KJV ¹² For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

S21 ¹² En versant ce parfum sur mon corps, elle l'a fait pour mon ensevelissement.

KJV ¹³ Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

S21 ¹³ Je vous le dis en vérité, partout où cette bonne nouvelle sera proclamée, dans le monde entier, on racontera aussi en souvenir de cette femme ce qu'elle a fait.»

KJV ¹⁴ Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

S21 ¹⁴ Alors l'un des douze, appelé Judas l'Iscariot, alla vers les chefs des prêtres

KJV ¹⁵ And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

S21 ¹⁵ et dit: «Que voulez-vous me donner pour que je vous livre Jésus?» Ils lui payèrent 30 pièces d'argent.

KJV ¹⁶ And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

S21 ¹⁶ Dès ce moment, il se mit à chercher une occasion favorable pour trahir Jésus.

KJV ¹⁷ Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

S21 ¹⁷ Le premier jour des pains sans levain, les disciples s'adressèrent à Jésus pour lui dire: «Où veux-tu que nous te préparions le repas de la Pâque?»

KJV ¹⁸ And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

S21 ¹⁸ Il répondit: «Allez à la ville chez un tel et vous lui direz: ‘Le maître dit: Mon heure est proche. Je célébrerai la Pâque chez toi avec mes disciples.'»

KJV ¹⁹ And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

KJV ²⁰ Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

S21 ²⁰ Le soir venu, il se mit à table avec les douze.

KJV ²¹ And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

S21 ²¹ Pendant qu'ils mangeaient, il dit: «Je vous le dis en vérité, l'un de vous me trahira.»

KJV ²² And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

S21 ²² Ils furent profondément attristés et chacun se mit à lui dire: «Est-ce moi, Seigneur?»

KJV ²³ And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

S21 ²³ Il répondit: «Celui qui a mis la main dans le plat avec moi, c'est celui qui me trahira.

KJV ²⁴ The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

S21 ²⁴ Le Fils de l'homme s'en va, conformément à ce qui est écrit à son sujet, mais malheur à l'homme par qui le Fils de l'homme est trahi! Mieux vaudrait pour cet homme qu'il ne soit pas né.»

KJV ²⁵ Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

S21 ²⁵ Judas, celui qui le trahissait, prit la parole et dit: «Est-ce moi, maître?»
Jésus lui répondit: «Tu le dis.»

KJV ²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

S21 ²⁶ Pendant qu'ils mangeaient, Jésus prit du pain et prononça la prière de bénédiction, puis il le rompit et le donna aux disciples en disant: «Prenez, mangez, ceci est mon corps.»

KJV ²⁷ And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

KJV ²⁸ For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

KJV ²⁹ But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

S21 ²⁹ Je vous le dis, je ne boirai plus désormais de ce fruit de la vigne, jusqu'au jour où je le boirai nouveau avec vous dans le royaume de mon Père.»

KJV ³⁰ And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

S21 ³⁰ Après avoir chanté les psaumes, ils se rendirent au mont des Oliviers.

KJV ³¹ Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

S21 ³¹ Alors Jésus leur dit: «Vous trébucherez tous, cette nuit, à cause de moi, car il est écrit: Je frapperai le berger et les brebis du troupeau seront dispersées. 

KJV ³² But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

KJV ³³ Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

S21 ³³ Pierre prit la parole et lui dit: «Même si tous trébuchent à cause de toi, ce ne sera jamais mon cas.»

KJV ³⁴ Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

S21 ³⁴ Jésus lui dit: «Je te le dis en vérité, cette nuit même, avant que le coq chante, trois fois tu me renieras.»

KJV ³⁵ Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

S21 ³⁵ Pierre lui répondit: «Même s'il me faut mourir avec toi, je ne te renierai pas.» Et tous les disciples dirent la même chose.

KJV ³⁶ Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

S21 ³⁶ Là-dessus, Jésus se rendit avec eux dans un endroit appelé Gethsémané et il dit aux disciples: «Asseyez-vous [ici] pendant que je m'éloignerai pour prier.»

KJV ³⁷ And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

S21 ³⁷ Il prit avec lui Pierre et les deux fils de Zébédée et il commença à être saisi de tristesse et d'angoisse.

KJV ³⁸ Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

KJV ³⁹ And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

S21 ³⁹ Puis il avança de quelques pas, se jeta le visage contre terre et fit cette prière: «Mon Père, si cela est possible, que cette coupe s'éloigne de moi! Toutefois, non pas ce que je veux, mais ce que tu veux.»

KJV ⁴⁰ And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

S21 ⁴⁰ Il revint vers les disciples, qu'il trouva endormis, et dit à Pierre: «Vous n'avez donc pas pu rester éveillés une seule heure avec moi!

KJV ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

S21 ⁴¹ Restez vigilants et priez pour ne pas céder à la tentation. L'esprit est bien disposé, mais par nature l'homme est faible.»

KJV ⁴² He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

S21 ⁴² Il s'éloigna une deuxième fois et fit cette prière: «Mon Père, s'il n'est pas possible que cette coupe s'éloigne [de moi] sans que je la boive, que ta volonté soit faite!»

KJV ⁴³ And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

S21 ⁴³ Il revint et les trouva encore endormis, car ils avaient les paupières lourdes.

KJV ⁴⁴ And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

S21 ⁴⁴ Il les quitta, s'éloigna de nouveau et pria pour la troisième fois, répétant les mêmes paroles.

KJV ⁴⁵ Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

S21 ⁴⁵ Puis il revint vers ses disciples et leur dit: «Vous dormez maintenant et vous vous reposez! Voici, l'heure est proche et le Fils de l'homme est livré entre les mains des pécheurs.

KJV ⁴⁶ Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

S21 ⁴⁶ Levez-vous, allons-y! Celui qui me trahit s'approche.»

KJV ⁴⁷ And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

S21 ⁴⁷ Il parlait encore quand Judas, l'un des douze, arriva avec une foule nombreuse armée d'épées et de bâtons, envoyée par les chefs des prêtres et par les anciens du peuple.

KJV ⁴⁸ Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

S21 ⁴⁸ Celui qui le trahissait leur avait donné ce signe: «L'homme auquel je donnerai un baiser, c'est lui. Arrêtez-le!»

KJV ⁴⁹ And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

S21 ⁴⁹ Aussitôt, il s'approcha de Jésus en disant: «Salut, maître!», et il l'embrassa.

KJV ⁵⁰ And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

S21 ⁵⁰ Jésus lui dit: «Mon ami, ce que tu es venu faire, fais-le.» Alors ces gens s'avancèrent, mirent la main sur Jésus et l'arrêtèrent.

KJV ⁵¹ And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

S21 ⁵¹ Un de ceux qui étaient avec Jésus mit la main sur son épée et la tira; il frappa le serviteur du grand-prêtre et lui emporta l'oreille.

KJV ⁵² Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

S21 ⁵² Alors Jésus lui dit: «Remets ton épée à sa place, car tous ceux qui prendront l'épée mourront par l'épée.

KJV ⁵³ Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

S21 ⁵³ Penses-tu que je ne puisse pas faire appel à mon Père, qui me donnerait à l'instant plus de douze légions d'anges?

KJV ⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

S21 ⁵⁴ Comment donc s'accompliraient les Ecritures, d'après lesquelles cela doit se passer ainsi?»

KJV ⁵⁵ In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

S21 ⁵⁵ A ce moment, Jésus dit à la foule: «Vous êtes venus vous emparer de moi avec des épées et des bâtons, comme pour un brigand. J'étais tous les jours assis [parmi vous], enseignant dans le temple, et vous ne m'avez pas arrêté.

KJV ⁵⁶ But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

S21 ⁵⁶ Mais tout cela est arrivé afin que les écrits des prophètes soient accomplis.»
Alors tous les disciples l'abandonnèrent et prirent la fuite.

KJV ⁵⁷ And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

S21 ⁵⁷ Ceux qui avaient arrêté Jésus l'emmenèrent chez le grand-prêtre Caïphe, où les spécialistes de la loi et les anciens étaient rassemblés.

KJV ⁵⁸ But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

S21 ⁵⁸ Pierre le suivit de loin jusqu'à la cour du grand-prêtre, y entra et s'assit avec les serviteurs pour voir comment cela finirait.

KJV ⁵⁹ Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

S21 ⁵⁹ Les chefs des prêtres, [les anciens] et tout le sanhédrin cherchaient un faux témoignage contre Jésus afin de le faire mourir,

KJV ⁶⁰ But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

S21 ⁶⁰ mais ils n'en trouvèrent pas, quoique beaucoup de faux témoins se soient présentés. Enfin, il en vint deux qui dirent:

KJV ⁶¹ And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

S21 ⁶¹ «Celui-ci a dit: ‘Je peux détruire le temple de Dieu et le reconstruire en trois jours.'»

KJV ⁶² And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

S21 ⁶² Le grand-prêtre se leva et lui dit: «Ne réponds-tu rien? Pourquoi ces hommes témoignent-ils contre toi?»

KJV ⁶³ But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

S21 ⁶³ Mais Jésus gardait le silence.
Le grand-prêtre [prit la parole et] lui dit: «Je t'adjure, par le Dieu vivant, de nous dire si tu es le Messie, le Fils de Dieu.»

KJV ⁶⁴ Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

S21 ⁶⁴ Jésus lui répondit: «Tu le dis. De plus, je vous le déclare, vous verrez désormais le Fils de l'homme assis à la droite du Tout-Puissant et venant sur les nuées du ciel.»

KJV ⁶⁵ Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

S21 ⁶⁵ Alors le grand-prêtre déchira ses vêtements en disant: «Il a blasphémé! Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoins? Vous venez d'entendre son blasphème.

KJV ⁶⁶ What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

S21 ⁶⁶ Qu'en pensez-vous?»
Ils répondirent: «Il mérite la mort.»

KJV ⁶⁷ Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

S21 ⁶⁷ Là-dessus, ils lui crachèrent au visage et le frappèrent à coups de poing; certains lui donnaient des gifles en disant:

KJV ⁶⁸ Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

S21 ⁶⁸ «Christ, prophétise-nous qui t'a frappé!»

KJV ⁶⁹ Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

S21 ⁶⁹ Or Pierre était assis dehors dans la cour. Une servante s'approcha de lui et dit: «Toi aussi, tu étais avec Jésus le Galiléen.»

KJV ⁷⁰ But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

S21 ⁷⁰ Mais il le nia devant tous en disant: «Je ne sais pas ce que tu veux dire.»

KJV ⁷¹ And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

S21 ⁷¹ Comme il se dirigeait vers la porte, une autre servante le vit et dit à ceux qui se trouvaient là: «Cet homme [aussi] était avec Jésus de Nazareth.»

KJV ⁷² And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

S21 ⁷² Il le nia de nouveau, avec serment: «Je ne connais pas cet homme.»

KJV ⁷³ And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

S21 ⁷³ Peu après, ceux qui étaient là s'approchèrent et dirent à Pierre: «Certainement, toi aussi tu fais partie de ces gens-là, car ton langage te fait reconnaître.»

KJV ⁷⁴ Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

S21 ⁷⁴ Alors il se mit à jurer en lançant des malédictions: «Je ne connais pas cet homme.»
Aussitôt un coq chanta.

KJV ⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

S21 ⁷⁵ Pierre se souvint alors de ce que Jésus [lui] avait dit: «Avant que le coq chante, tu me renieras trois fois.» Il sortit et pleura amèrement.

KJV ¹ When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

S21 ¹ Le matin venu, tous les chefs des prêtres et les anciens du peuple tinrent conseil contre Jésus pour le faire mourir.

KJV ² And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

S21 ² Après l'avoir attaché, ils l'emmenèrent et le livrèrent à [Ponce] Pilate, le gouverneur.

KJV ³ Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

S21 ³ Alors Judas, celui qui l'avait trahi, voyant qu'il était condamné, fut pris de remords et rapporta les 30 pièces d'argent aux chefs des prêtres et aux anciens

KJV ⁴ Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

S21 ⁴ en disant: «J'ai péché en faisant arrêter un innocent.»
Ils répondirent: «En quoi cela nous concerne-t-il? C'est toi que cela regarde.»

KJV ⁵ And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

S21 ⁵ Judas jeta les pièces d'argent dans le temple, se retira et alla se pendre.

KJV ⁶ And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

S21 ⁶ Les chefs des prêtres les ramassèrent en disant: «Il n'est pas permis de les mettre dans le trésor sacré puisque c'est le prix du sang.»

KJV ⁷ And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

S21 ⁷ Après en avoir délibéré, ils achetèrent avec cet argent le champ du potier, pour y ensevelir les étrangers.

KJV ⁸ Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

S21 ⁸ C'est pourquoi ce champ a été appelé «champ du sang» jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

KJV ⁹ Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

S21 ⁹ Alors s'accomplit ce que le prophète Jérémie avait annoncé: Ils ont pris les 30 pièces d'argent, la valeur à laquelle il a été estimé par les Israélites,

KJV ¹⁰ And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.

KJV ¹¹ And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

Jésus lui répondit: «Tu le dis.»

KJV ¹² And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

S21 ¹² Mais il ne répondit rien aux accusations des chefs des prêtres et des anciens.

KJV ¹³ Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?

S21 ¹³ Alors Pilate lui dit: «N'entends-tu pas tous ces témoignages qu'ils portent contre toi?»

KJV ¹⁴ And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

S21 ¹⁴ Mais Jésus ne répondit sur aucun point, ce qui étonna beaucoup le gouverneur.

KJV ¹⁵ Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.

S21 ¹⁵ A chaque fête, le gouverneur avait pour habitude de relâcher un prisonnier, celui que la foule voulait.

KJV ¹⁶ And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.

S21 ¹⁶ Ils avaient alors un prisonnier célèbre, un dénommé Barabbas.

KJV ¹⁷ Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

S21 ¹⁷ Comme ils étaient rassemblés, Pilate leur dit: «Lequel voulez-vous que je vous relâche: Barabbas ou Jésus qu'on appelle le Christ?»

KJV ¹⁸ For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

S21 ¹⁸ En effet, il savait que c'était par jalousie qu'ils avaient fait arrêter Jésus.

KJV ¹⁹ When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.

S21 ¹⁹ Pendant qu'il siégeait au tribunal, sa femme lui fit dire: «N'aie rien à faire avec ce juste, car aujourd'hui j'ai beaucoup souffert dans un rêve à cause de lui.»

KJV ²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

KJV ²³ And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

KJV ²⁴ When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.

KJV ³⁰ And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

KJV ³¹ And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

KJV ³² And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

KJV ³⁶ And sitting down they watched him there;

KJV ³⁷ And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

KJV ³⁸ Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

KJV ⁴¹ Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

KJV ⁴² He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

S21 ⁴² «Il en a sauvé d'autres et il ne peut pas se sauver lui-même! S'il est roi d'Israël, qu'il descende maintenant de la croix et nous croirons en lui.

KJV ⁴³ He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

S21 ⁴³ Il s'est confié en Dieu; que Dieu le délivre maintenant, s'il l'aime! En effet, il a dit: ‘Je suis le Fils de Dieu.'»

KJV ⁴⁴ The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

S21 ⁴⁴ Les brigands crucifiés avec lui l'insultaient eux aussi de la même manière.

KJV ⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

KJV ⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

S21 ⁴⁶ Vers trois heures de l'après-midi, Jésus s'écria d'une voix forte: «Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?» – c'est-à-dire: Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné? 

KJV ⁴⁷ Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

KJV ⁴⁸ And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

KJV ⁴⁹ The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

KJV ⁵² And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

KJV ⁵⁵ And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:

KJV ⁵⁶ Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedees children.

KJV ⁵⁷ When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

KJV ⁶¹ And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

KJV ⁶⁴ Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

S21 ⁶⁴ Ordonne donc que le tombeau soit gardé jusqu'au troisième jour, afin que ses disciples ne viennent pas voler le corps et dire au peuple: ‘Il est ressuscité.' Cette dernière imposture serait pire que la première.»

KJV ⁶⁵ Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

S21 ⁶⁵ Pilate leur dit: «Vous avez une garde. Allez-y, gardez-le comme vous le souhaitez!»

KJV ⁶⁶ So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

KJV ¹ In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

KJV ² And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

KJV ³ His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

KJV ⁴ And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

S21 ⁴ Les gardes tremblèrent de peur et devinrent comme morts,

KJV ⁵ And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

S21 ⁵ mais l'ange prit la parole et dit aux femmes: «Quant à vous, n'ayez pas peur, car je sais que vous cherchez Jésus, celui qui a été crucifié.

KJV ⁶ He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

S21 ⁶ Il n'est pas ici, car il est ressuscité, comme il l'avait dit. Venez voir l'endroit où le Seigneur était couché

KJV ⁷ And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

KJV ⁸ And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

KJV ⁹ And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

Elles s'approchèrent, s'agrippèrent à ses pieds et se prosternèrent devant lui.

KJV ¹⁰ Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

S21 ¹⁰ Alors Jésus leur dit: «N'ayez pas peur! Allez dire à mes frères de se rendre en Galilée: c'est là qu'ils me verront.»

KJV ¹¹ Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

S21 ¹¹ Pendant qu'elles étaient en chemin, quelques hommes de la garde entrèrent dans la ville et annoncèrent aux chefs des prêtres tout ce qui était arrivé.

KJV ¹² And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

S21 ¹² Après s'être réunis avec les anciens pour tenir conseil, ceux-ci donnèrent une forte somme d'argent aux soldats

KJV ¹³ Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

S21 ¹³ avec cette consigne: «Dites que ses disciples sont venus de nuit voler le corps pendant que vous dormiez.

KJV ¹⁴ And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

S21 ¹⁴ Et si le gouverneur l'apprend, nous l'apaiserons et nous ferons en sorte que vous n'ayez pas d'ennuis.»

KJV ¹⁵ So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

S21 ¹⁵ Les soldats prirent l'argent et se conformèrent aux instructions reçues. Et ce récit des événements s'est propagé parmi les Juifs jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

KJV ¹⁶ Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

KJV ²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

S21 ²⁰ et enseignez-leur à mettre en pratique tout ce que je vous ai prescrit. Et moi, je suis avec vous tous les jours, jusqu'à la fin du monde.»
