KJV ¹³ And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.

WLC ¹³ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו בָּלָ֗ק נָּ֨א אִתִּ֜י אֶל־ מָק֤וֹם אַחֵר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּרְאֶ֣נּוּ מִשָּׁ֔ם אֶ֚פֶס קָצֵ֣הוּ תִרְאֶ֔ה וְכֻלּ֖וֹ לֹ֣א תִרְאֶ֑ה וְקָבְנוֹ־ לִ֖י מִשָּֽׁם׃

DRB ¹⁴ Et il le conduisit au champ de Tsophim*, au sommet du Pisga, et il bâtit sept autels, et offrit un taureau et un bélier sur [chaque] autel.

KJV ¹⁴ And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.

WLC ¹⁴ וַיִּקָּחֵ֙הוּ֙ שְׂדֵ֣ה צֹפִ֔ים אֶל־ רֹ֖אשׁ הַפִּסְגָּ֑ה וַיִּ֙בֶן֙ שִׁבְעָ֣ה מִזְבְּחֹ֔ת וַיַּ֛עַל פָּ֥ר וָאַ֖יִל בַּמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃

DRB ¹⁵ Et [Balaam] dit à Balak : Tiens-toi ici auprès de ton offrande, et moi, j'irai à la rencontre, là…

KJV ¹⁵ And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.

WLC ¹⁵ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ בָּלָ֔ק הִתְיַצֵּ֥ב כֹּ֖ה עַל־ עֹלָתֶ֑ךָ וְאָנֹכִ֖י אִקָּ֥רֶה כֹּֽה׃

DRB ¹⁶ Et l'Éternel vint à la rencontre de Balaam, et mit une parole dans sa bouche, et dit : Retourne vers Balak, et tu parleras ainsi.

KJV ¹⁶ And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.

WLC ¹⁶ וַיִּקָּ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־ בִּלְעָ֔ם וַיָּ֥שֶׂם דָּבָ֖ר בְּפִ֑יו וַיֹּ֛אמֶר שׁ֥וּב אֶל־ בָּלָ֖ק וְכֹ֥ה תְדַבֵּֽר׃

DRB ¹⁷ Et il vint à lui, et voici, il se tenait auprès de son offrande, et les seigneurs de Moab avec lui. Et Balak lui dit : Qu'a dit l'Éternel ?

KJV ¹⁷ And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?

WLC ¹⁷ וַיָּבֹ֣א אֵלָ֗יו וְהִנּ֤וֹ נִצָּב֙ עַל־ עֹ֣לָת֔וֹ וְשָׂרֵ֥י מוֹאָ֖ב אִתּ֑וֹ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ בָּלָ֔ק מַה־ דִּבֶּ֖ר יְהוָֽה׃

DRB ¹⁸ Et il proféra son discours sentencieux, et dit : Lève-toi, Balak, et écoute ! Prête-moi l'oreille, fils de Tsippor !

DRB ¹⁹ *Dieu n'est pas un homme, pour mentir, ni un fils d'homme, pour se repentir : aura-t-il dit, et ne fera-t-il pas ? aura-t-il parlé, et ne l'accomplira-t-il pas ?

KJV ¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

WLC ¹⁹ לֹ֣א אִ֥ישׁ אֵל֙ וִֽיכַזֵּ֔ב וּבֶן־ אָדָ֖ם וְיִתְנֶחָ֑ם הַה֤וּא אָמַר֙ וְלֹ֣א יַעֲשֶׂ֔ה וְדִבֶּ֖ר וְלֹ֥א יְקִימֶֽנָּה׃

DRB ²⁰ Voici, j'ai reçu [mission] de bénir ; il a béni et je ne le révoquerai pas.

KJV ²⁰ Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

WLC ²⁰ הִנֵּ֥ה בָרֵ֖ךְ לָקָ֑חְתִּי וּבֵרֵ֖ךְ וְלֹ֥א אֲשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃

DRB ²¹ Il n'a pas aperçu d'iniquité en Jacob, ni n'a vu d'injustice en Israël ; l'Éternel, son Dieu, est avec lui, et un chant de triomphe royal est au milieu de lui.

KJV ²¹ He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

WLC ²¹ לֹֽא־ הִבִּ֥יט אָ֙וֶן֙ בְּיַעֲקֹ֔ב וְלֹא־ רָאָ֥ה עָמָ֖ל בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהָיו֙ עִמּ֔וֹ וּתְרוּעַ֥ת מֶ֖לֶךְ בּֽוֹ׃

DRB ²² *Dieu les a fait sortir d'Égypte ; il a comme* la force** des buffles.

KJV ²² God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.

DRB ²³ Car il n'y a pas d'enchantement contre Jacob, ni de divination contre Israël. Selon ce temps* il sera dit de Jacob et d'Israël : Qu'est-ce que *Dieu a fait ?

KJV ²³ Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

WLC ²³ כִּ֤י לֹא־ נַ֙חַשׁ֙ בְּיַעֲקֹ֔ב וְלֹא־ קֶ֖סֶם בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כָּעֵ֗ת יֵאָמֵ֤ר לְיַעֲקֹב֙ וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מַה־ פָּ֖עַל אֵֽל׃

DRB ²⁴ Voici, le peuple se lèvera comme une lionne, et se dressera comme un lion ; il ne se couchera pas qu'il n'ait mangé la proie, et bu le sang des tués.

KJV ²⁴ Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.

WLC ²⁴ הֶן־ עָם֙ כְּלָבִ֣יא יָק֔וּם וְכַאֲרִ֖י יִתְנַשָּׂ֑א לֹ֤א יִשְׁכַּב֙ עַד־ יֹ֣אכַל טֶ֔רֶף וְדַם־ חֲלָלִ֖ים יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃

DRB ²⁵ Et Balak dit à Balaam : Ne le maudis donc pas ; mais du moins ne le bénis pas.

KJV ²⁵ And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.

WLC ²⁵ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר בָּלָק֙ אֶל־ בִּלְעָ֔ם גַּם־ קֹ֖ב לֹ֣א תִקֳּבֶ֑נּוּ גַּם־ בָּרֵ֖ךְ לֹ֥א תְבָרֲכֶֽנּוּ׃

DRB ²⁶ Et Balaam répondit et dit à Balak : Ne t'ai-je pas parlé, disant : Tout ce que l'Éternel dira, je le ferai ?

KJV ²⁶ But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?

WLC ²⁶ וַיַּ֣עַן בִּלְעָ֔ם וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֶל־ בָּלָ֑ק הֲלֹ֗א דִּבַּ֤רְתִּי אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־ יְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֹת֥וֹ אֶֽעֱשֶֽׂה׃

DRB ²⁷ Et Balak dit à Balaam : Viens donc, je te conduirai à un autre lieu : peut-être sera-t-il bon* aux yeux de Dieu que tu me le maudisses de là.

KJV ²⁷ And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.

WLC ²⁷ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר בָּלָק֙ אֶל־ בִּלְעָ֔ם לְכָה־ נָּא֙ אֶקָּ֣חֲךָ֔ אֶל־ מָק֖וֹם אַחֵ֑ר אוּלַ֤י יִישַׁר֙ בְּעֵינֵ֣י הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וְקַבֹּ֥תוֹ לִ֖י מִשָּֽׁם׃

DRB ²⁸ Et Balak conduisit Balaam au sommet du Péor, qui se montre au-dessus de la surface du désert.

KJV ²⁸ And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.

WLC ²⁸ וַיִּקַּ֥ח בָּלָ֖ק אֶת־ בִּלְעָ֑ם רֹ֣אשׁ הַפְּע֔וֹר הַנִּשְׁקָ֖ף עַל־ פְּנֵ֥י הַיְשִׁימֹֽן׃

DRB ²⁹ Et Balaam dit à Balak : Bâtis-moi ici sept autels, et prépare-moi ici sept taureaux et sept béliers.

KJV ²⁹ And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.

WLC ²⁹ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר בִּלְעָם֙ אֶל־ בָּלָ֔ק בְּנֵה־ לִ֥י בָזֶ֖ה שִׁבְעָ֣ה מִזְבְּחֹ֑ת וְהָכֵ֥ן לִי֙ בָּזֶ֔ה שִׁבְעָ֥ה פָרִ֖ים וְשִׁבְעָ֥ה אֵילִֽים׃

DRB ³⁰ Et Balak fit comme Balaam avait dit ; et il offrit un taureau et un bélier sur [chaque] autel.

KJV ³⁰ And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
