BAN ¹ Ecoutez la parole de l'Eternel, fils d'Israël, car l'Eternel a un procès avec les habitants du pays, parce qu'il n'y a ni vérité, ni bonté, ni connaissance de Dieu dans le pays.

KJV ¹ Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

WLC ¹ שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּ֣י רִ֤יב לַֽיהוָה֙ עִם־ יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֠י אֵין־ אֱמֶ֧ת וְֽאֵין־ חֶ֛סֶד וְאֵֽין־ דַּ֥עַת אֱלֹהִ֖ים בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ² On se parjure, on tue, on vole, on commet adultère ! Ils font effraction, et le sang versé touche le sang versé.

KJV ² By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

WLC ² אָלֹ֣ה וְכַחֵ֔שׁ וְרָצֹ֥חַ וְגָנֹ֖ב וְנָאֹ֑ף פָּרָ֕צוּ וְדָמִ֥ים בְּדָמִ֖ים נָגָֽעוּ׃

BAN ³ C'est pourquoi le pays sera dans le deuil et tous ses habitants dans la langueur, avec les bêtes des champs et les oiseaux des cieux ; et même les poissons de la mer disparaîtront.

KJV ³ Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

WLC ³ עַל־ כֵּ֣ן ׀ תֶּאֱבַ֣ל הָאָ֗רֶץ וְאֻמְלַל֙ כָּל־ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בָּ֔הּ בְּחַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה וּבְע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְגַם־ דְּגֵ֥י הַיָּ֖ם יֵאָסֵֽפוּ׃

BAN ⁴ Mais que nul ne conteste et que nul ne réclame ! Car ton peuple est comme celui qui aurait procès avec le sacrificateur.

KJV ⁴ Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.

WLC ⁴ אַ֥ךְ אִ֛ישׁ אַל־ יָרֵ֖ב וְאַל־ יוֹכַ֣ח אִ֑ישׁ וְעַמְּךָ֖ כִּמְרִיבֵ֥י כֹהֵֽן׃

BAN ⁵ Tu trébucheras de jour, le prophète aussi trébuchera avec toi de nuit ; et je ferai périr ta mère.

KJV ⁵ Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.

WLC ⁵ וְכָשַׁלְתָּ֣ הַיּ֔וֹם וְכָשַׁ֧ל גַּם־ נָבִ֛יא עִמְּךָ֖ לָ֑יְלָה וְדָמִ֖יתִי אִמֶּֽךָ׃

BAN ⁶ Mon peuple périt, faute de connaissance. Puisque tu as rejeté la connaissance, je te rejetterai de mon sacerdoce. Tu as oublié la loi de ton Dieu ; moi aussi, j'oublierai tes enfants.

KJV ⁶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

WLC ⁶ נִדְמ֥וּ עַמִּ֖י מִבְּלִ֣י הַדָּ֑עַת כִּֽי־ אַתָּ֞ה הַדַּ֣עַת מָאַ֗סְתָּ וְאֶמְאָֽסְאךָ֙ מִכַּהֵ֣ן לִ֔י וַתִּשְׁכַּח֙ תּוֹרַ֣ת אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ אֶשְׁכַּ֥ח בָּנֶ֖יךָ גַּם־ אָֽנִי׃

BAN ⁷ Plus ils se sont multipliés, plus ils ont péché contre moi ; je changerai leur gloire en ignominie.

KJV ⁷ As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

WLC ⁷ כְּרֻבָּ֖ם כֵּ֣ן חָֽטְאוּ־ לִ֑י כְּבוֹדָ֖ם בְּקָל֥וֹן אָמִֽיר׃

BAN ⁸ Ils vivent des péchés de mon peuple et ne demandent que ses iniquités.

KJV ⁸ They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.

WLC ⁸ חַטַּ֥את עַמִּ֖י יֹאכֵ֑לוּ וְאֶל־ עֲוֺנָ֖ם יִשְׂא֥וּ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃

BAN ⁹ Aussi il en sera du sacrificateur comme du peuple ; je le punirai de ses voies et lui rendrai ce qu'il a fait.

KJV ⁹ And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.

WLC ⁹ וְהָיָ֥ה כָעָ֖ם כַּכֹּהֵ֑ן וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י עָלָיו֙ דְּרָכָ֔יו וּמַעֲלָלָ֖יו אָשִׁ֥יב לֽוֹ׃

BAN ¹⁰ Ils mangeront et ne seront pas rassasiés ; ils se prostitueront et ne multiplieront pas, car ils ont abandonné le service de l'Eternel.

KJV ¹⁰ For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.

WLC ¹⁰ וְאָֽכְלוּ֙ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׂבָּ֔עוּ הִזְנ֖וּ וְלֹ֣א יִפְרֹ֑צוּ כִּֽי־ אֶת־ יְהוָ֥ה עָזְב֖וּ לִשְׁמֹֽר׃

BAN ¹¹ La luxure, le vin et le moût ôtent le sens.

KJV ¹¹ Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.

WLC ¹¹ זְנ֛וּת וְיַ֥יִן וְתִיר֖וֹשׁ יִֽקַּֽח־ לֵֽב׃

BAN ¹² Mon peuple consulte le bois, et c'est son bâton qui l'instruit ; car un esprit de prostitution les a égarés : pour se prostituer, ils se sont soustraits à leur Dieu.

KJV ¹² My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.

WLC ¹² עַמִּי֙ בְּעֵצ֣וֹ יִשְׁאָ֔ל וּמַקְל֖וֹ יַגִּ֣יד ל֑וֹ כִּ֣י ר֤וּחַ זְנוּנִים֙ הִתְעָ֔ה וַיִּזְנ֖וּ מִתַּ֥חַת אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃

BAN ¹³ Ils offrent des sacrifices sur les sommets des montagnes et de l'encens sur les collines, sous le chêne, le peuplier, le térébinthe, parce que l'ombrage en est bon. C'est pourquoi vos filles se prostituent et vos jeunes femmes commettent adultère.

KJV ¹³ They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.

WLC ¹³ עַל־ רָאשֵׁ֨י הֶהָרִ֜ים יְזַבֵּ֗חוּ וְעַל־ הַגְּבָעוֹת֙ יְקַטֵּ֔רוּ תַּ֣חַת אַלּ֧וֹן וְלִבְנֶ֛ה וְאֵלָ֖ה כִּ֣י ט֣וֹב צִלָּ֑הּ עַל־ כֵּ֗ן תִּזְנֶ֙ינָה֙ בְּנ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם וְכַלּוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם תְּנָאַֽפְנָה׃

BAN ¹⁴ Je ne punirai pas vos filles pour leurs prostitutions et vos jeunes femmes pour leurs adultères, car eux-mêmes vont à l'écart avec les prostituées et sacrifient avec les courtisanes, et le peuple sans intelligence court à sa perte.

KJV ¹⁴ I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

WLC ¹⁴ לֹֽא־ אֶפְק֨וֹד עַל־ בְּנוֹתֵיכֶ֜ם כִּ֣י תִזְנֶ֗ינָה וְעַל־ כַּלּֽוֹתֵיכֶם֙ כִּ֣י תְנָאַ֔פְנָה כִּי־ הֵם֙ עִם־ הַזֹּנ֣וֹת יְפָרֵ֔דוּ וְעִם־ הַקְּדֵשׁ֖וֹת יְזַבֵּ֑חוּ וְעָ֥ם לֹֽא־ יָבִ֖ין יִלָּבֵֽט׃

BAN ¹⁵ Si tu te prostitues, ô Israël, que Juda ne se rende point coupable. N'allez pas à Guilgal et ne montez pas à Beth-Aven, et ne jurez pas en disant : L'Eternel est vivant !

KJV ¹⁵ Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.

WLC ¹⁵ אִם־ זֹנֶ֤ה אַתָּה֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַל־ יֶאְשַׁ֖ם יְהוּדָ֑ה וְאַל־ תָּבֹ֣אוּ הַגִּלְגָּ֗ל וְאַֽל־ תַּעֲלוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית אָ֔וֶן וְאַל־ תִּשָּׁבְע֖וּ חַי־ יְהוָֽה׃

BAN ¹⁶ Parce qu'Israël a été rétif comme une génisse rétive, maintenant l'Eternel les fera paître comme des agneaux dans un pays ouvert.

KJV ¹⁶ For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the LORD will feed them as a lamb in a large place.

WLC ¹⁶ כִּ֚י כְּפָרָ֣ה סֹֽרֵרָ֔ה סָרַ֖ר יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עַתָּה֙ יִרְעֵ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה כְּכֶ֖בֶשׂ בַּמֶּרְחָֽב׃

BAN ¹⁷ Ephraïm se fait compagnon des idoles, laisse-le faire !

KJV ¹⁷ Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.

WLC ¹⁷ חֲב֧וּר עֲצַבִּ֛ים אֶפְרָ֖יִם הַֽנַּֽח־ לֽוֹ׃

BAN ¹⁸ Ont-ils fini de boire, les voilà tous à la prostitution ! Leurs chefs ont la passion de l'ignominie.

KJV ¹⁸ Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.

WLC ¹⁸ סָ֖ר סָבְאָ֑ם הַזְנֵ֣ה הִזְנ֔וּ אָהֲב֥וּ הֵב֛וּ קָל֖וֹן מָגִנֶּֽיהָ׃

BAN ¹⁹ Le vent les a emportés sur ses ailes, et ils recueilleront la honte de leurs sacrifices.

KJV ¹⁹ The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.

WLC ¹⁹ צָרַ֥ר ר֛וּחַ אוֹתָ֖הּ בִּכְנָפֶ֑יהָ וְיֵבֹ֖שׁוּ מִזִּבְחוֹתָֽם

BAN ¹ Entendez ceci, sacrificateurs ; écoutez, maison d'Israël ; maison du roi, prêtez l'oreille ; car c'est pour vous qu'est la sentence, parce que vous avez été un piège à Mitspa, et un filet sur le Thabor.

KJV ¹ Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

WLC ¹ שִׁמְעוּ־ זֹ֨את הַכֹּהֲנִ֜ים וְהַקְשִׁ֣יבוּ ׀ בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וּבֵ֤ית הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ הַאֲזִ֔ינוּ כִּ֥י לָכֶ֖ם הַמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט כִּֽי־ פַח֙ הֱיִיתֶ֣ם לְמִצְפָּ֔ה וְרֶ֖שֶׁת פְּרוּשָׂ֥ה עַל־ תָּבֽוֹר׃

BAN ² Leurs sacrifices ont creusé [l'abîme de] leur rébellion ; je vais vous reprendre tous.

KJV ² And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.

WLC ² וְשַׁחֲטָ֥ה שֵׂטִ֖ים הֶעְמִ֑יקוּ וַאֲנִ֖י מוּסָ֥ר לְכֻלָּֽם׃

BAN ³ Je connais Ephraïm, et Israël ne m'est point caché : or, tu t'es prostitué, Ephraïm ; Israël s'est souillé.

KJV ³ I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.

WLC ³ אֲנִי֙ יָדַ֣עְתִּי אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֹֽא־ נִכְחַ֣ד מִמֶּ֑נִּי כִּ֤י עַתָּה֙ הִזְנֵ֣יתָ אֶפְרַ֔יִם נִטְמָ֖א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

BAN ⁴ Leurs oeuvres ne leur permettent pas de revenir à leur Dieu, car un esprit de prostitution est au milieu d'eux, et ils ne connaissent pas l'Eternel.

KJV ⁴ They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.

WLC ⁴ לֹ֤א יִתְּנוּ֙ מַ֣עַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם לָשׁ֖וּב אֶל־ אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם כִּ֣י ר֤וּחַ זְנוּנִים֙ בְּקִרְבָּ֔ם וְאֶת־ יְהוָ֖ה לֹ֥א יָדָֽעוּ׃

BAN ⁵ L'orgueil d'Israël dépose contre lui Israël et Ephraïm tomberont par leur iniquité ; Juda aussi est tombé avec eux.

KJV ⁵ And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.

WLC ⁵ וְעָנָ֥ה גְאֽוֹן־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּפָנָ֑יו וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל וְאֶפְרַ֗יִם יִכָּֽשְׁלוּ֙ בַּעֲוֺנָ֔ם כָּשַׁ֥ל גַּם־ יְהוּדָ֖ה עִמָּֽם׃

BAN ⁶ Avec leurs moutons et leurs boeufs ils iront chercher l'Eternel, et ils ne le trouveront point ; il s'est dérobé à eux.

KJV ⁶ They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.

WLC ⁶ בְּצֹאנָ֣ם וּבִבְקָרָ֗ם יֵֽלְכ֛וּ לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ אֶת־ יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א יִמְצָ֑אוּ חָלַ֖ץ מֵהֶֽם׃

BAN ⁷ Ils ont trompé l'Eternel, car ils ont enfanté des fils étrangers ; la prochaine lune les dévorera avec leurs biens.

KJV ⁷ They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

WLC ⁷ בַּיהוָ֣ה בָּגָ֔דוּ כִּֽי־ בָנִ֥ים זָרִ֖ים יָלָ֑דוּ עַתָּ֛ה יֹאכְלֵ֥ם חֹ֖דֶשׁ אֶת־ חֶלְקֵיהֶֽם׃

BAN ⁸ Sonnez du cor à Guibéa, du clairon à Rama ; jetez des cris d'alarme à Beth-Aven ! Garde à toi, Benjamin !

KJV ⁸ Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.

WLC ⁸ תִּקְע֤וּ שׁוֹפָר֙ בַּגִּבְעָ֔ה חֲצֹצְרָ֖ה בָּרָמָ֑ה הָרִ֙יעוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית אָ֔וֶן אַחֲרֶ֖יךָ בִּנְיָמִֽין׃

BAN ⁹ Ephraïm sera dévasté au jour du châtiment ; j'annonce une chose certaine dans les tribus d'Israël.

KJV ⁹ Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.

WLC ⁹ אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֔ה בְּי֖וֹם תּֽוֹכֵחָ֑ה בְּשִׁבְטֵי֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הוֹדַ֖עְתִּי נֶאֱמָנָֽה׃

BAN ¹⁰ Les princes de Juda ont été comme des gens qui déplacent les bornes : je répandrai sur eux ma colère comme de l'eau.

KJV ¹⁰ The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

WLC ¹⁰ הָיוּ֙ שָׂרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה כְּמַסִּיגֵ֖י גְּב֑וּל עֲלֵיהֶ֕ם אֶשְׁפּ֥וֹךְ כַּמַּ֖יִם עֶבְרָתִֽי׃

BAN ¹¹ Ephraïm est opprimé, accablé justement, parce qu'il a consenti à suivre des règlements.

KJV ¹¹ Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.

WLC ¹¹ עָשׁ֥וּק אֶפְרַ֖יִם רְצ֣וּץ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט כִּ֣י הוֹאִ֔יל הָלַ֖ךְ אַחֲרֵי־ צָֽו׃

BAN ¹² Et moi, je suis comme la teigne pour Ephraïm, comme la vermoulure pour la maison de Juda.

KJV ¹² Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.

WLC ¹² וַאֲנִ֥י כָעָ֖שׁ לְאֶפְרָ֑יִם וְכָרָקָ֖ב לְבֵ֥ית יְהוּדָֽה׃

BAN ¹³ Quand Ephraïm a vu sa maladie, et Juda sa blessure, Ephraïm est allé vers Assur, et il a envoyé vers un roi qui prit son parti ; mais celui-ci ne pourra vous guérir, et votre plaie ne sera point cicatrisée.

KJV ¹³ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

WLC ¹³ וַיַּ֨רְא אֶפְרַ֜יִם אֶת־ חָלְי֗וֹ וִֽיהוּדָה֙ אֶת־ מְזֹר֔וֹ וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ אֶל־ אַשּׁ֔וּר וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח אֶל־ מֶ֣לֶךְ יָרֵ֑ב וְה֗וּא לֹ֤א יוּכַל֙ לִרְפֹּ֣א לָכֶ֔ם וְלֹֽא־ יִגְהֶ֥ה מִכֶּ֖ם מָזֽוֹר׃

BAN ¹⁴ Car je serai comme le lion pour Ephraïm, et comme le jeune lion pour la maison de Juda ; moi, moi, je déchirerai et m'en irai ; j'emporterai ma proie et on ne me l'arrachera pas.

KJV ¹⁴ For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.

WLC ¹⁴ כִּ֣י אָנֹכִ֤י כַשַּׁ֙חַל֙ לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם וְכַכְּפִ֖יר לְבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה אֲנִ֨י אֲנִ֤י אֶטְרֹף֙ וְאֵלֵ֔ךְ אֶשָּׂ֖א וְאֵ֥ין מַצִּֽיל׃

BAN ¹⁵ Je m'en irai, je rentrerai dans ma demeure jusqu'à ce qu'ils se reconnaissent coupables et qu'ils cherchent ma face. Dans leur détresse, ils me réclameront.

KJV ¹⁵ I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

WLC ¹⁵ אֵלֵ֤ךְ אָשׁ֙וּבָה֙ אֶל־ מְקוֹמִ֔י עַ֥ד אֲשֶֽׁר־ יֶאְשְׁמ֖וּ וּבִקְשׁ֣וּ פָנָ֑י בַּצַּ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם יְשַׁחֲרֻֽנְנִי׃

BAN ¹ Venez et retournons à l'Eternel ! Car c'est lui qui a déchiré, il nous guérira. Qu'il frappe, il bandera nos plaies.

KJV ¹ Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

WLC ¹ לְכוּ֙ וְנָשׁ֣וּבָה אֶל־ יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֛י ה֥וּא טָרָ֖ף וְיִרְפָּאֵ֑נוּ יַ֖ךְ וְיַחְבְּשֵֽׁנוּ׃

BAN ² En deux jours, il nous fera revivre ; le troisième jour, il nous relèvera, et nous vivrons devant sa face.

KJV ² After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

WLC ² יְחַיֵּ֖נוּ מִיֹּמָ֑יִם בַּיּוֹם֙ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י יְקִמֵ֖נוּ וְנִחְיֶ֥ה לְפָנָֽיו׃

BAN ³ Connaissons l'Eternel, appliquons-nous à le connaître ; son lever est certain comme celui de l'aurore, et il viendra à nous comme la pluie tardive arrosant la terre.

KJV ³ Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

WLC ³ וְנֵדְעָ֣ה נִרְדְּפָ֗ה לָדַ֙עַת֙ אֶת־ יְהוָ֔ה כְּשַׁ֖חַר נָכ֣וֹן מֽוֹצָא֑וֹ וְיָב֤וֹא כַגֶּ֙שֶׁם֙ לָ֔נוּ כְּמַלְק֖וֹשׁ י֥וֹרֶה אָֽרֶץ׃

BAN ⁴ Que te ferai-je, Ephraïm ? que te ferai-je, Juda ? Votre amour est comme une nuée du matin, comme la rosée qui passe de bonne heure.

KJV ⁴ O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

WLC ⁴ מָ֤ה אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־ לְּךָ֙ אֶפְרַ֔יִם מָ֥ה אֶעֱשֶׂה־ לְּךָ֖ יְהוּדָ֑ה וְחַסְדְּכֶם֙ כַּֽעֲנַן־ בֹּ֔קֶר וְכַטַּ֖ל מַשְׁכִּ֥ים הֹלֵֽךְ׃

BAN ⁶ Car je prends plaisir à l'amour, et non au sacrifice, à la connaissance de Dieu plus qu'aux holocaustes.

KJV ⁶ For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

WLC ⁶ כִּ֛י חֶ֥סֶד חָפַ֖צְתִּי וְלֹא־ זָ֑בַח וְדַ֥עַת אֱלֹהִ֖ים מֵעֹלֽוֹת׃

BAN ⁷ Mais eux, à la façon des hommes, ont transgressé l'alliance ; là, ils m'ont trompé.

KJV ⁸ Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.

BAN ⁹ Comme des bandits guettent les gens, ainsi une bande de prêtres, assassine sur la route du côté de Sichem ; car ils commettent des scélératesses.

KJV ⁹ And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.

WLC ⁹ וּכְחַכֵּ֨י אִ֜ישׁ גְּדוּדִ֗ים חֶ֚בֶר כֹּֽהֲנִ֔ים דֶּ֖רֶךְ יְרַצְּחוּ־ שֶׁ֑כְמָה כִּ֥י זִמָּ֖ה עָשֽׂוּ׃

BAN ¹⁰ Dans la maison d'Israël, j'ai vu des horreurs ; là est la prostitution, la souillure d'Israël.

KJV ¹⁰ I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
