KJV ¹ When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:

WLC ¹ כִּֽי־ תֵ֭שֵׁב לִלְח֣וֹם אֶת־ מוֹשֵׁ֑ל בִּ֥ין תָּ֝בִ֗ין אֶת־ אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְפָנֶֽיךָ׃

DRB ² et mets un couteau à ta gorge, si tu es gourmand.

KJV ² And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.

VULC ² Et statue cultrum in gutture tuo :
si tamen habes in potestate animam tuam.

WLC ² וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ שַׂכִּ֣ין בְּלֹעֶ֑ךָ אִם־ בַּ֖עַל נֶ֣פֶשׁ אָֽתָּה׃

DRB ³ Ne désire point ses friandises, car c'est un pain trompeur.

KJV ³ Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.

VULC ³ Ne desideres de cibis ejus,
in quo est panis mendacii.

WLC ³ אַל־ תִּ֭תְאָו לְמַטְעַמּוֹתָ֑יו וְ֝ה֗וּא לֶ֣חֶם כְּזָבִֽים׃
