KJV ² Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

S21 ² à l'Eglise de Dieu qui est à Corinthe, à ceux qui ont été conduits à la sainteté par Jésus-Christ, appelés à être saints, et à tous ceux qui, partout, font appel au nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, leur Seigneur et le nôtre:

KJV ³ Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

S21 ³ que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ!

KJV ⁴ I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

S21 ⁴ Je dis constamment à mon Dieu toute ma reconnaissance à votre sujet pour la grâce de Dieu qui vous a été accordée en Jésus-Christ.

KJV ⁵ That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

S21 ⁵ En effet, en lui vous avez été comblés de toutes les richesses, en particulier en ce qui concerne la parole et la connaissance,

KJV ⁶ Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

KJV ⁷ So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

KJV ⁸ Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

KJV ⁹ God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

S21 ⁹ Dieu est fidèle, lui qui vous a appelés à vivre en communion avec son Fils, Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur.

KJV ¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

S21 ¹⁰ Je vous supplie, frères et sœurs, par le nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, de tenir tous le même langage. Qu'il n'y ait pas de divisions parmi vous, mais soyez parfaitement unis dans le même état d'esprit et dans la même pensée.

KJV ¹¹ For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

S21 ¹¹ En effet, mes frères et sœurs, j'ai appris à votre sujet, par l'entourage de Chloé, qu'il y a des rivalités entre vous.

KJV ¹² Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

S21 ¹² Je veux dire par là que chacun de vous affirme: «Moi, je me rattache à Paul!» «Et moi, à Apollos!» «Et moi, à Céphas!» «Et moi, à Christ!»

KJV ¹³ Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

S21 ¹³ Christ est-il divisé? Paul a-t-il été crucifié pour vous ou est-ce au nom de Paul que vous avez été baptisés?

KJV ¹⁴ I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

S21 ¹⁴ Je remercie [Dieu] de ce que je n'ai baptisé aucun de vous, excepté Crispus et Gaïus.

KJV ¹⁵ Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

S21 ¹⁵ Ainsi, personne ne peut dire que j'ai baptisé en mon nom.

KJV ¹⁶ And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

S21 ¹⁶ J'ai encore baptisé la famille de Stéphanas. Pour le reste, que je sache, je n'ai baptisé personne d'autre.

KJV ¹⁷ For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

S21 ¹⁷ De fait, ce n'est pas pour baptiser que Christ m'a envoyé, c'est pour annoncer l'Evangile, et cela sans recourir à la sagesse du langage, afin que la croix de Christ ne soit pas vidée de sa force.

KJV ¹⁸ For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

S21 ¹⁸ En effet, le message de la croix est une folie pour ceux qui périssent, mais pour nous qui sommes sauvés, il est la puissance de Dieu.

KJV ¹⁹ For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

S21 ¹⁹ Du reste, il est écrit: Je ferai disparaître la sagesse des sages et j'anéantirai l'intelligence des intelligents. 

KJV ²⁰ Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

S21 ²⁰ Où est le sage? Où est le spécialiste de la loi? Où est le discoureur de l'ère actuelle? Dieu n'a-t-il pas convaincu de folie la sagesse de ce monde?

KJV ²¹ For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

S21 ²¹ Puisque à travers cette sagesse le monde n'a pas connu Dieu en voyant sa sagesse, il a plu à Dieu de sauver les croyants à travers la folie de la prédication.

KJV ²² For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

S21 ²² Les Juifs demandent un signe miraculeux et les Grecs recherchent la sagesse.

KJV ²³ But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

S21 ²³ Or nous, nous prêchons un Messie crucifié, scandale pour les Juifs et folie pour les non-Juifs,

KJV ²⁴ But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

S21 ²⁴ mais puissance de Dieu et sagesse de Dieu pour ceux qui sont appelés, qu'ils soient juifs ou non.

KJV ²⁵ Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

S21 ²⁵ En effet, la folie de Dieu est plus sage que les hommes et la faiblesse de Dieu est plus forte que les hommes.

KJV ²⁶ For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

S21 ²⁶ Considérez, frères et sœurs, votre propre appel: il n'y a parmi vous ni beaucoup de sages selon les critères humains, ni beaucoup de puissants, ni beaucoup de nobles.

KJV ²⁷ But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

S21 ²⁷ Mais Dieu a choisi les choses folles du monde pour couvrir de honte les sages, et Dieu a choisi les choses faibles du monde pour couvrir de honte les fortes.

KJV ²⁸ And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

S21 ²⁸ Dieu a choisi les choses basses et méprisées du monde, celles qui ne sont rien, pour réduire à néant celles qui sont,

KJV ²⁹ That no flesh should glory in his presence.

S21 ²⁹ afin que personne ne puisse faire le fier devant Dieu.

KJV ³⁰ But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

S21 ³⁰ C'est grâce à lui que vous êtes en Jésus-Christ, lui qui est devenu, par la volonté de Dieu, notre sagesse, notre justice, la source de notre sainteté et notre libérateur,

KJV ³¹ That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

S21 ³¹ afin, comme il est écrit, que celui qui veut éprouver de la fierté mette sa fierté dans le Seigneur.

KJV ¹ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

S21 ¹ Pour ma part, frères et sœurs, lorsque je suis venu chez vous, ce n'est pas avec une supériorité de langage ou de sagesse que je suis venu vous annoncer le témoignage de Dieu,

KJV ² For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

S21 ² car j'avais décidé de ne connaître parmi vous rien d'autre que Jésus-Christ, et Jésus-Christ crucifié.

KJV ³ And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

S21 ³ J'ai été faible, craintif et tout tremblant chez vous.

KJV ⁴ And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

S21 ⁴ Ma parole et ma prédication ne reposaient pas sur les discours persuasifs de la sagesse [humaine], mais sur une démonstration d'Esprit et de puissance,

KJV ⁵ That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

S21 ⁵ afin que votre foi soit fondée non sur la sagesse des hommes, mais sur la puissance de Dieu.

KJV ⁶ Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

S21 ⁶ C'est pourtant bien une sagesse que nous enseignons parmi les hommes mûrs, mais une sagesse qui n'est pas de ce temps ni des chefs de ce temps, qui sont voués à la destruction.

KJV ⁷ But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

S21 ⁷ Non, nous annonçons la sagesse de Dieu mystérieuse et cachée, celle que Dieu, avant tous les temps, avait préparée d'avance pour notre gloire.

KJV ⁸ Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

S21 ⁸ Cette sagesse, aucun des chefs de ce temps ne l'a connue, car, s'ils l'avaient connue, ils n'auraient pas crucifié le Seigneur de la gloire.

KJV ⁹ But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

S21 ⁹ Mais, comme il est écrit, ce que l'œil n'a pas vu, ce que l'oreille n'a pas entendu, ce qui n'est pas monté au cœur de l'homme, Dieu l'a préparé pour ceux qui l'aiment.

KJV ¹⁰ But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

S21 ¹⁰ Or, c'est à nous que Dieu l'a révélé, par son Esprit, car l'Esprit examine tout, même les profondeurs de Dieu.

KJV ¹¹ For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

S21 ¹¹ En effet, qui parmi les hommes connaît les pensées de l'homme, si ce n'est l'esprit de l'homme qui est en lui? De même, personne ne peut connaître les pensées de Dieu, si ce n'est l'Esprit de Dieu.

KJV ¹² Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

S21 ¹² Or nous, nous n'avons pas reçu l'esprit du monde, mais l'Esprit qui vient de Dieu, afin de connaître les bienfaits que Dieu nous a donnés par sa grâce.

KJV ¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

S21 ¹³ Et nous en parlons non avec les paroles qu'enseigne la sagesse humaine, mais avec celles qu'enseigne l'Esprit [saint]. Ainsi nous employons un langage spirituel pour exprimer ce qui est spirituel.

KJV ¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

S21 ¹⁴ Mais l'homme naturel n'accepte pas ce qui vient de l'Esprit de Dieu, car c'est une folie pour lui; il est même incapable de le comprendre, parce que c'est spirituellement qu'on en juge.

KJV ¹⁵ But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

S21 ¹⁵ L'homme dirigé par l'Esprit, au contraire, juge de tout et n'est lui-même jugé par personne.

KJV ¹⁶ For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

S21 ¹⁶ En effet, qui a connu la pensée du Seigneur et pourrait l'instruire? Or nous, nous avons la pensée de Christ.

KJV ¹ And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

S21 ¹ Pour ma part, frères et sœurs, je n'ai pas pu vous parler comme à des personnes dirigées par l'Esprit, mais comme à des personnes dirigées par leur nature propre, comme à de petits enfants en Christ.

KJV ² I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

S21 ² Je vous ai donné du lait, non de la nourriture solide, car vous ne pouviez pas la supporter. D'ailleurs, même maintenant vous ne le pouvez pas

KJV ³ For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

S21 ³ parce que vous êtes encore animés par votre nature. En effet, puisqu'il y a parmi vous de la jalousie, des disputes [et des divisions], n'êtes-vous pas dirigés par votre nature propre et ne vous conduisez-vous pas d'une manière tout humaine?

KJV ⁴ For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

S21 ⁴ Quand l'un dit: «Moi, je me rattache à Paul» et un autre: «Moi, à Apollos», n'êtes-vous pas animés par votre nature?

KJV ⁵ Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

S21 ⁵ Qui est donc Apollos et qui est Paul? Ce sont des serviteurs par le moyen desquels vous avez cru, conformément à ce que le Seigneur a accordé à chacun.

KJV ⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

S21 ⁶ J'ai planté, Apollos a arrosé, mais c'est Dieu qui a fait grandir.

KJV ⁷ So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

S21 ⁷ Ainsi, ce n'est pas celui qui plante ni celui qui arrose qui compte, mais Dieu, qui donne la croissance.

KJV ⁸ Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

S21 ⁸ Celui qui plante et celui qui arrose sont égaux, et chacun recevra sa propre récompense en fonction de son propre travail.

KJV ⁹ For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

S21 ⁹ En effet, nous sommes ouvriers avec Dieu. Vous êtes le champ de Dieu, la construction de Dieu.

KJV ¹⁰ According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

S21 ¹⁰ Conformément à la grâce que Dieu m'a donnée, j'ai posé le fondement comme un sage architecte, et un autre construit dessus. Cependant, que chacun fasse attention à la manière dont il construit dessus,

KJV ¹¹ For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

S21 ¹¹ car personne ne peut poser un autre fondement que celui qui a été posé, à savoir Jésus-Christ.

KJV ¹² Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

S21 ¹² Que l'on construise sur ce fondement avec de l'or, de l'argent, des pierres précieuses, du bois, du foin ou de la paille,

KJV ¹³ Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

S21 ¹³ l'œuvre de chacun sera dévoilée: le jour du jugement la fera connaître, car elle se révélera dans le feu et l'épreuve du feu indiquera ce que vaut l'œuvre de chacun.

KJV ¹⁴ If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

S21 ¹⁴ Si l'œuvre que quelqu'un a construite sur le fondement subsiste, il recevra une récompense.

KJV ¹⁵ If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

S21 ¹⁵ Si son œuvre brûle, il perdra sa récompense; lui-même sera sauvé, mais comme au travers d'un feu.

KJV ¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

S21 ¹⁶ Ne savez-vous pas que vous êtes le temple de Dieu et que l'Esprit de Dieu habite en vous?

KJV ¹⁷ If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

S21 ¹⁷ Si quelqu'un détruit le temple de Dieu, Dieu le détruira, car le temple de Dieu est saint, et c'est ce que vous êtes.

KJV ¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

S21 ¹⁸ Que personne ne se trompe lui-même: si quelqu'un parmi vous pense être sage selon les critères de l'ère actuelle, qu'il devienne fou afin de devenir sage,

KJV ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

S21 ¹⁹ car la sagesse de ce monde est une folie devant Dieu. En effet, il est écrit: Il prend les sages à leur propre ruse. 

KJV ²⁰ And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

S21 ²⁰ Et encore: Le Seigneur connaît les pensées des sages, il sait qu'elles sont sans valeur. 

KJV ²¹ Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;

S21 ²¹ Que personne ne mette donc sa fierté dans des hommes, car tout vous appartient,

KJV ²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;

S21 ²² que ce soit Paul, Apollos, Céphas, le monde, la vie, la mort, le présent ou l'avenir. Tout est à vous,

KJV ²³ And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

S21 ²³ et vous êtes à Christ, et Christ est à Dieu.

KJV ¹ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

S21 ¹ Ainsi donc, qu'on nous considère comme des serviteurs de Christ et des administrateurs des mystères de Dieu.

KJV ² Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

S21 ² Du reste, ce qu'on demande des administrateurs, c'est qu'ils soient trouvés fidèles.

KJV ³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

S21 ³ Pour ma part, il m'importe très peu d'être jugé par vous ou par un tribunal humain. Bien plus, je ne me juge pas non plus moi-même.

KJV ⁴ For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

S21 ⁴ Ma conscience, il est vrai, ne me reproche rien, mais ce n'est pas pour autant que je peux être considéré comme juste. Celui qui me juge, c'est le Seigneur.

KJV ⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

S21 ⁵ C'est pourquoi ne portez aucun jugement avant le moment fixé, avant le retour du Seigneur, car il mettra en lumière ce qui est caché dans les ténèbres et il dévoilera les intentions des cœurs. Chacun recevra alors de Dieu la louange qui lui revient.

KJV ⁶ And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

S21 ⁶ Frères et sœurs, c'est à cause de vous que j'ai appliqué ces images à Apollos et à moi-même, afin que vous appreniez par notre exemple à ne pas aller [dans vos pensées] au-delà de ce qui est écrit et que personne ne s'enfle d'orgueil en prenant parti pour l'un contre l'autre.

KJV ⁷ For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

S21 ⁷ En effet, qui est celui qui te distingue? Qu'as-tu que tu n'aies pas reçu? Et si tu l'as reçu, pourquoi faire le fier comme si tu ne l'avais pas reçu?

KJV ⁸ Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

S21 ⁸ Déjà vous êtes rassasiés, déjà vous êtes riches, vous avez commencé à régner sans nous. Si seulement vous pouviez régner en effet, pour que nous aussi nous puissions régner avec vous!

KJV ⁹ For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

S21 ⁹ En effet, il me semble que Dieu a fait de nous, apôtres, les derniers des hommes, des condamnés à mort en quelque sorte, puisque nous avons été donnés en spectacle au monde, aux anges et aux hommes.

KJV ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

S21 ¹⁰ Nous sommes fous à cause de Christ, mais vous, vous êtes sages en Christ; nous sommes faibles, mais vous êtes forts. Vous êtes honorés et nous sommes méprisés!

KJV ¹¹ Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;

S21 ¹¹ Jusqu'à cette heure, nous souffrons de la faim, de la soif, du dénuement; nous sommes maltraités, errants;

KJV ¹² And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

S21 ¹² nous nous fatiguons à travailler de nos propres mains. Injuriés, nous bénissons; persécutés, nous supportons;

KJV ¹³ Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

S21 ¹³ calomniés, nous répondons avec bonté. Nous sommes devenus comme les balayures du monde, le déchet de tous, jusqu'à maintenant.

KJV ¹⁴ I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.

S21 ¹⁴ Ce n'est pas pour vous faire honte que j'écris cela, mais je vous avertis comme mes enfants bien-aimés.

KJV ¹⁵ For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

S21 ¹⁵ En effet, même si vous aviez 10'000 maîtres en Christ, vous n'avez cependant pas plusieurs pères, puisque c'est moi qui vous ai donné la vie en Jésus-Christ par l'Evangile.

KJV ¹⁶ Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

S21 ¹⁶ Je vous en supplie donc: soyez mes imitateurs.

KJV ¹⁷ For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

S21 ¹⁷ Pour cela je vous ai envoyé Timothée, qui est mon enfant bien-aimé et fidèle dans le Seigneur. Il vous rappellera quels sont mes principes de vie en Christ, tels que je les enseigne partout, dans toutes les Eglises.

KJV ¹⁸ Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.

S21 ¹⁸ Quelques-uns se sont enflés d'orgueil en pensant que je ne viendrais pas chez vous.

KJV ¹⁹ But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.

S21 ¹⁹ Mais je viendrai bientôt, si c'est la volonté du Seigneur, et je prendrai connaissance non des paroles, mais de la puissance de ceux qui se sont enflés d'orgueil.

KJV ²⁰ For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

S21 ² Et vous êtes enflés d'orgueil! Vous auriez dû plutôt prendre le deuil, de sorte que l'auteur de cet acte soit exclu du milieu de vous!

KJV ³ For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

KJV ¹ Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

KJV ² Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

S21 ² Ne savez-vous pas que les saints jugeront le monde? Et si c'est par vous que le monde doit être jugé, êtes-vous incapables de rendre des jugements de faible importance?

KJV ³ Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

S21 ³ Ne savez-vous pas que nous jugerons les anges? Combien plus les affaires de la vie courante!

KJV ⁴ If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

S21 ⁴ Or si vous avez des litiges concernant les affaires de la vie courante, vous prenez pour juges des gens dont l'Eglise ne fait aucun cas!

KJV ⁵ I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

S21 ⁵ Je le dis à votre honte. Ainsi, il n'y a parmi vous pas un seul homme sage qui puisse juger entre ses frères et sœurs!

KJV ⁶ But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

S21 ⁶ Au contraire, un frère est en procès contre un frère, et cela devant des incroyants!

KJV ⁷ Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

S21 ⁷ C'est déjà pour vous un échec complet que d'avoir des procès les uns avec les autres. Pourquoi ne supportez-vous pas plutôt une injustice? Pourquoi ne vous laissez-vous pas plutôt dépouiller?

KJV ⁸ Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

S21 ⁸ Mais c'est vous au contraire qui commettez l'injustice et qui dépouillez les autres, et c'est envers des frères et sœurs que vous agissez ainsi!

KJV ⁹ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

KJV ³⁵ And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

KJV ³⁷ Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.

S21 ¹¹ Ainsi, à cause de ta connaissance le faible ira à sa perte, ce frère pour lequel Christ est mort!

KJV ¹² But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.

S21 ¹² En péchant ainsi contre les frères et sœurs et en blessant leur conscience, qui est faible, c'est contre Christ que vous péchez.

KJV ¹³ Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

S21 ¹³ C'est pourquoi, si un aliment représente un piège pour mon frère, je ne mangerai jamais de viande afin de ne pas faire trébucher mon frère.

KJV ¹ Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

S21 ¹ Ne suis-je pas libre? Ne suis-je pas apôtre? N'ai-je pas vu Jésus[-Christ] notre Seigneur? N'êtes-vous pas mon œuvre dans le Seigneur?

KJV ² If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.

S21 ² Si pour d'autres je ne suis pas apôtre, je le suis au moins pour vous, car vous êtes l'empreinte qui authentifie mon service en tant qu'apôtre dans le Seigneur.

KJV ³ Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,

KJV ⁴ Have we not power to eat and to drink?

S21 ⁴ N'avons-nous pas le droit de manger et de boire?

KJV ⁵ Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

S21 ⁵ N'avons-nous pas le droit d'emmener avec nous une sœur qui soit notre femme, comme le font les autres apôtres, les frères du Seigneur et Céphas?

KJV ⁶ Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?

S21 ⁶ Ou bien sommes-nous les seuls, Barnabas et moi, à ne pas avoir le droit de ne pas travailler?

KJV ⁷ Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?

S21 ⁷ Qui donc sert dans une armée à ses propres frais? Qui plante une vigne et n'en mange pas le fruit? Qui prend soin d'un troupeau et ne se nourrit pas du lait du troupeau?

KJV ⁸ Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?

S21 ⁸ Est-ce purement d'un point de vue humain que je dis cela? La loi ne le dit-elle pas aussi?

KJV ⁹ For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

S21 ⁹ En effet, il est écrit dans la loi de Moïse: Tu ne mettras pas de muselière au bœuf quand il foule le grain. Dieu s'inquiète-t-il des bœufs

KJV ¹⁰ Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.

S21 ¹⁰ ou bien est-ce principalement à cause de nous qu'il parle? Oui, c'est à cause de nous que cela a été écrit, car celui qui laboure doit labourer avec espérance, et celui qui bat le blé doit le faire avec l'espoir de recevoir sa part.

KJV ¹¹ If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

S21 ¹¹ Si nous avons semé pour vous les biens spirituels, est-ce trop si nous récoltons une part de vos biens matériels?

KJV ¹² If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

S21 ¹² Si d'autres exercent ce droit sur vous, n'est-ce pas plutôt à nous d'en jouir? Mais nous n'avons pas recouru à ce droit; au contraire, nous supportons tout afin de ne pas créer d'obstacle à l'Evangile de Christ.

KJV ¹³ Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?

S21 ¹³ Ne savez-vous pas que ceux qui assurent le service du culte sont nourris par le temple, que ceux qui servent à l'autel reçoivent une part de ce qui est offert sur l'autel?

KJV ¹⁴ Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

S21 ¹⁴ De même aussi, le Seigneur a prescrit à ceux qui annoncent l'Evangile de vivre de l'Evangile.

KJV ¹⁵ But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

S21 ¹⁵ Quant à moi, je n'ai eu recours à aucun de ces droits, et je n'écris pas cela pour qu'ils me soient accordés, car j'aimerais mieux mourir plutôt que de me laisser enlever ce sujet de fierté.

KJV ¹⁶ For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

KJV ²⁰ And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

KJV ²¹ To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

KJV ²² To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

KJV ²³ And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
