KJV ⁷ I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.

MAR ⁷ J'ai vu les serviteurs à cheval, et les Seigneurs aller à pied, comme des serviteurs.

KJV ⁸ He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

KJV ¹⁷ Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!

MAR ¹⁷ Que tu es heureuse, ô terre ! quand ton Roi est de race illustre, et que tes Gouverneurs mangent quand il en est temps, pour leur réfection, et non par débauche !

KJV ¹⁸ By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

KJV ¹⁰ The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

KJV ¹¹ The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

MAR ¹¹ Plus l'Ecclésiaste a été sage, plus il a enseigné la science au peuple ; il a fait entendre, il a recherché et mis en ordre plusieurs graves sentences.

KJV ¹² And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

MAR ¹² L'Ecclésiaste a cherché pour trouver des discours agréables ; mais ce qui en a été écrit [ici], est la droiture même ; ce sont des paroles de vérité.

KJV ¹³ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

MAR ¹³ Les paroles des sages sont comme des aiguillons, et les maîtres qui en ont fait des recueils, sont comme des clous fichés, [et ces choses] ont été données par un Pasteur.

KJV ¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

MAR ¹⁴ Mon fils garde-toi de ce qui est au-delà de ceci ; car il n'y a point de fin à faire plusieurs Livres, et tant d'étude n'est que travail qu'on se donne.

MAR ¹⁵ Le but de tout le discours qui a été ouï, c'est : Crains Dieu, et garde ses commandements ; car c'est là le tout de l'homme.

MAR ¹⁶ Parce que Dieu amènera toute oeuvre en jugement, touchant tout ce qui est caché, soit bien, soit mal.
