BCC ²² Puis, prenant un bouquet d'hysope, vous le tremperez dans le sang qui sera dans le bassin, et vous toucherez avec le sang qui sera dans le bassin le linteau et les deux montants de la porte. Nul d'entre vous ne sortira de l'entrée de sa maison jusqu'au matin.

KJV ²² And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

BCC ²³ Yahweh passera pour frapper l'Égypte et, en voyant le sang sur le linteau et sur les deux montants, Yahweh passera vos portes, et il ne permettra pas au Destructeur d'entrer dans vos maisons pour frapper.

KJV ²³ For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

BCC ²⁴ Vous observerez cet ordre comme une institution pour vous et pour vos enfants à perpétuité.

KJV ²⁴ And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

KJV ²⁶ And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

BCC ²⁷ vous répondrez : C'est un sacrifice de Pâque en l'honneur de Yahweh, qui a passé par-dessus les maisons des enfants d'Israël en Égypte, lorsqu'Il frappa l'Égypte et sauva nos maisons." Le peuple s'inclina et se prosterna.

KJV ²⁷ That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

KJV ³² Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.

BCC ³³ allez, et bénissez-moi." Les Égyptiens pressaient vivement le peuple, ayant hâte de le renvoyer du pays, car ils disaient : "Nous sommes tous morts !"

KJV ³³ And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.

KJV ³⁴ And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

BCC ³⁹ Ils cuisirent en galettes non levées la pâte qu'ils avaient emportée d'Égypte ; car elle n'était pas levée, parce qu'ils avaient été chassés d'Égypte sans pouvoir tarder, ni prendre de provisions avec eux.

KJV ³⁹ And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

BCC ⁴⁰ Le séjour des enfants d'Israël en Égypte fut de quatre cents trente ans.

KJV ⁴⁰ Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

KJV ⁴¹ And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

BCC ⁴² Ce fut une nuit de veille pour Yahweh quand Il fit sortir Israël du pays d'Égypte ; cette même nuit sera une veille en l'honneur de Yahweh, pour tous les enfants d'Israël selon leurs générations.

KJV ⁴² It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

KJV ⁴³ And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:

KJV ⁴⁴ But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

BCC ⁴⁶ On ne la mangera que dans la maison ; vous n'emporterez point de chair hors de la maison, et vous ne briserez aucun os.

KJV ⁴⁶ In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

BCC ⁴⁸ Si un étranger séjournant chez toi veut faire la Pâque de Yahweh, tout mâle de sa maison devra être circoncis, et alors il s'approchera pour la faire, et il sera comme l'indigène du pays mais aucun incirconcis n'en mangera.

KJV ⁴⁸ And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

KJV ³ For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

WLC ³ וְאָמַ֤ר פַּרְעֹה֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְבֻכִ֥ים הֵ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ סָגַ֥ר עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃

BCC ⁴ Et j'endurcirai le coeur de Pharaon, et il les poursuivra ; je ferai éclater ma gloire dans Pharaon et dans toute son armée, et les Égyptiens sauront que je suis Yahweh." Et les enfants d'Israël firent ainsi.

KJV ⁴ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

VULC ⁴ Et indurabo cor ejus, ac persequetur vos : et glorificabor in Pharaone, et in omni exercitu ejus ; scientque Ægyptii quia ego sum Dominus. Feceruntque ita.

WLC ⁴ וְחִזַּקְתִּ֣י אֶת־ לֵב־ פַּרְעֹה֮ וְרָדַ֣ף אַחֲרֵיהֶם֒ וְאִכָּבְדָ֤ה בְּפַרְעֹה֙ וּבְכָל־ חֵיל֔וֹ וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־ כֵֽן׃

BCC ⁵ On annonça au roi d'Égypte que le peuple avait pris la fuite. Alors le coeur de Pharaon et celui de ses serviteurs furent changés à l'égard du peuple ; ils dirent : "Qu'avons-nous fait de laisser aller Israël et de nous priver de ses services ?"

KJV ⁵ And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

VULC ⁵ Et nuntiatum est regi Ægyptiorum quod fugisset populus : immutatumque est cor Pharaonis et servorum ejus super populo, et dixerunt : Quid voluimus facere ut dimitteremus Israël, ne serviret nobis ?

WLC ⁵ וַיֻּגַּד֙ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם כִּ֥י בָרַ֖ח הָעָ֑ם וַ֠יֵּהָפֵךְ לְבַ֨ב פַּרְעֹ֤ה וַעֲבָדָיו֙ אֶל־ הָעָ֔ם וַיֹּֽאמרוּ֙ מַה־ זֹּ֣את עָשִׂ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־ שִׁלַּ֥חְנוּ אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵעָבְדֵֽנוּ׃

BCC ⁶ Et Pharaon fit atteler son char, et il prit son peuple avec lui.

KJV ⁶ And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

VULC ⁶ Junxit ergo currum, et omnem populum suum assumpsit secum.

WLC ⁶ וַיֶּאְסֹ֖ר אֶת־ רִכְבּ֑וֹ וְאֶת־ עַמּ֖וֹ לָקַ֥ח עִמּֽוֹ׃

BCC ⁷ Il prit six cents chars d'élite, et tous les chars de l'Égypte, et sur tous, il y avait des chefs.

KJV ⁷ And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

VULC ⁷ Tulitque sexcentos currus electos, et quidquid in Ægypto curruum fuit : et duces totius exercitus.

WLC ⁷ וַיִּקַּ֗ח שֵׁשׁ־ מֵא֥וֹת רֶ֙כֶב֙ בָּח֔וּר וְכֹ֖ל רֶ֣כֶב מִצְרָ֑יִם וְשָׁלִשִׁ֖ם עַל־ כֻּלּֽוֹ׃

BCC ⁸ Yahweh endurcit le coeur de Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et Pharaon poursuivit les enfants d'Israël ; et les enfants d'Israël étaient sortis par une main élevée.

KJV ⁸ And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

VULC ⁸ Induravitque Dominus cor Pharaonis regis Ægypti, et persecutus est filios Israël : at illi egressi sunt in manu excelsa.

WLC ⁸ וַיְחַזֵּ֣ק יְהֹוָ֗ה אֶת־ לֵ֤ב פַּרְעֹה֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּרְדֹּ֕ף אַחֲרֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יֹצְאִ֖ים בְּיָ֥ד רָמָֽה׃

BCC ⁹ Les Égyptiens les poursuivirent donc et les atteignirent comme ils étaient campés près de la mer ; tous les chevaux des chars de Pharaon, ses cavaliers et son armée les atteignirent près de Phihahiroth, vis-à-vis de Beelsephon.

KJV ⁹ But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

VULC ⁹ Cumque persequerentur Ægyptii vestigia præcedentium, repererunt eos in castris super mare : omnis equitatus et currus Pharaonis, et universus exercitus, erant in Phihahiroth contra Beelsephon.

WLC ⁹ וַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּ מִצְרַ֜יִם אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם וַיַּשִּׂ֤יגוּ אוֹתָם֙ חֹנִ֣ים עַל־ הַיָּ֔ם כָּל־ סוּס֙ רֶ֣כֶב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וּפָרָשָׁ֖יו וְחֵיל֑וֹ עַל־ פִּי֙ הַֽחִירֹ֔ת לִפְנֵ֖י בַּ֥עַל צְפֹֽן׃

BCC ¹⁰ Pharaon approchait. Les enfants d'Israël levèrent les yeux, et voici, les Égyptiens étaient en marche derrière eux ; et les enfants d'Israël, saisis d'une grande frayeur, poussèrent des cris vers Yahweh. Ils dirent à Moïse :

WLC ¹⁰ וּפַרְעֹ֖ה הִקְרִ֑יב וַיִּשְׂאוּ֩ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־ עֵינֵיהֶ֜ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה מִצְרַ֣יִם ׀ נֹסֵ֣עַ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם וַיִּֽירְאוּ֙ מְאֹ֔ד וַיִּצְעֲק֥וּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־ יְהוָֽה׃

BCC ¹¹ "N'y avait-il donc pas des sépulcres en Égypte, que tu nous aies menés mourir au désert ? Que nous as-tu fait, en nous faisant sortir d'Égypte ?

KJV ¹¹ And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

VULC ¹¹ et dixerunt ad Moysen : Forsitan non erant sepulchra in Ægypto, ideo tulisti nos ut moreremur in solitudine : quid hoc facere voluisti, ut educeres nos ex Ægypto ?

WLC ¹¹ וַיֹּאמְרוּ֮ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁה֒ הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־ קְבָרִים֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם לְקַחְתָּ֖נוּ לָמ֣וּת בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר מַה־ זֹּאת֙ עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֔נוּ לְהוֹצִיאָ֖נוּ מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

BCC ¹² N'est-ce pas là ce que nous te disions en Égypte : Laisse-nous servir les Égyptiens, car il vaut mieux pour nous servir les Égyptiens que de mourir au désert ?"

KJV ¹² Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

VULC ¹² nonne iste est sermo, quem loquebamur ad te in Ægypto, dicentes : Recede a nobis, ut serviamus Ægyptiis ? multo enim melius erat servire eis, quam mori in solitudine.

WLC ¹² הֲלֹא־ זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֩ דִּבַּ֨רְנוּ אֵלֶ֤יךָ בְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר חֲדַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּ וְנַֽעַבְדָ֣ה אֶת־ מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּ֣י ט֥וֹב לָ֙נוּ֙ עֲבֹ֣ד אֶת־ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִמֻּתֵ֖נוּ בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃

BCC ¹³ Moïse répondit au peuple : "n'ayez point de crainte, restez en place, et regardez le salut que Yahweh va vous accorder en ce jour ; car les Égyptiens que vous voyez aujourd'hui, vous ne les reverrez jamais.

KJV ¹³ And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

VULC ¹³ Et ait Moyses ad populum : Nolite timere : state, et videte magnalia Domini quæ facturus est hodie : Ægyptios enim, quos nunc videtis, nequaquam ultra videbitis usque in sempiternum.

WLC ¹³ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶל־ הָעָם֮ אַל־ תִּירָאוּ֒ הִֽתְיַצְב֗וּ וּרְאוּ֙ אֶת־ יְשׁוּעַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם כִּ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר רְאִיתֶ֤ם אֶת־ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ הַיּ֔וֹם לֹ֥א תֹסִ֛יפוּ לִרְאֹתָ֥ם ע֖וֹד עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

BCC ¹⁴ Yahweh combattra pour vous, et vous, tenez-vous tranquilles."

KJV ¹⁴ The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

VULC ¹⁴ Dominus pugnabit pro vobis, et vos tacebitis.

WLC ¹⁴ יְהוָ֖ה יִלָּחֵ֣ם לָכֶ֑ם וְאַתֶּ֖ם תַּחֲרִישֽׁוּן׃
