KJV ²¹ Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

KJV ²² And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

MAR ²² Puis vous prendrez un bouquet d'hysope, et le tremperez dans le sang qui sera dans un bassin, et vous arroserez du sang qui sera dans le bassin, le linteau, et les deux poteaux ; et nul de vous ne sortira de la porte de sa maison, jusqu'au matin.

KJV ²³ For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

MAR ²³ Car l'Eternel passera pour frapper l'Egypte, et il verra le sang sur le linteau, et sur les deux poteaux, et l'Eternel passera par-dessus la porte, et ne permettra point que le destructeur entre dans vos maisons pour frapper.

KJV ²⁴ And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

MAR ²⁴ Vous garderez ceci comme une ordonnance perpétuelle pour toi et pour tes enfants.

WLC ²⁴ וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־ הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה לְחָק־ לְךָ֥ וּלְבָנֶ֖יךָ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ²⁵ And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the LORD will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

MAR ²⁵ Quand donc vous serez entrés au pays que l'Eternel vous donnera, selon qu'il [en] a parlé, vous garderez ce service.

WLC ²⁵ וְהָיָ֞ה כִּֽי־ תָבֹ֣אוּ אֶל־ הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִתֵּ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה לָכֶ֖ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֵּ֑ר וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־ הָעֲבֹדָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת׃

KJV ²⁶ And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

MAR ²⁶ Et quand vos enfants vous diront : que vous [signifie] ce service ?

WLC ²⁶ וְהָיָ֕ה כִּֽי־ יֹאמְר֥וּ אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם בְּנֵיכֶ֑ם מָ֛ה הָעֲבֹדָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את לָכֶֽם׃

KJV ²⁷ That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

MAR ²⁷ Alors vous répondrez : c'est le sacrifice de la Pâque à l'Eternel, qui passa en Egypte par-dessus les maisons des enfants d'Israël, quand il frappa l'Egypte, et qu'il préserva nos maisons. Alors le peuple s'inclina, et se prosterna.

KJV ²⁸ And the children of Israel went away, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

KJV ²⁹ And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

KJV ³⁰ And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

KJV ³¹ And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.

KJV ³² Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.

KJV ³³ And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.

KJV ³⁴ And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

KJV ³⁵ And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:

MAR ³⁵ Or les enfants d'Israël avaient fait selon la parole de Moïse, et avaient demandé aux Egyptiens des vaisseaux d'argent et d'or, et des vêtements.

KJV ³⁶ And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

MAR ³⁶ Et l'Eternel avait fait trouver grâce au peuple envers les Egyptiens, qui les leur avaient prêtés ; de sorte qu'ils butinèrent les Egyptiens.

KJV ³⁷ And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.

KJV ³⁸ And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

KJV ³⁹ And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

KJV ⁴⁰ Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

KJV ⁴¹ And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

KJV ⁴² It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

MAR ⁴² C'est la nuit qui doit être soigneusement observée à [l'honneur] de l'Eternel, parce qu'[alors] il les retira du pays d'Egypte ; cette même nuit-là est à observer à [l'honneur] de l'Eternel, par tous les enfants d'Israël en leurs âges.

KJV ⁴³ And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:

KJV ⁴⁴ But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

KJV ⁴⁵ A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.

KJV ⁴⁶ In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.

KJV ⁴⁷ All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.

KJV ⁴⁸ And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

MAR ⁴⁸ Et si quelque étranger qui habite chez toi, veut faire la Pâque à l'Eternel, que tout mâle qui lui appartient soit circoncis, et alors il s'approchera pour la faire, et il sera comme celui qui est né au pays ; mais aucun incirconcis n'en mangera.

KJV ⁴⁹ One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

KJV ⁵⁰ Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

KJV ⁵¹ And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

KJV ¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

KJV ² Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

MAR ² Sanctifie-moi tout premier-né, tout ce qui ouvre la matrice entre les enfants d'Israël, tant des hommes que des bêtes, [car il est] à moi.

KJV ³ And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

MAR ³ Moïse donc dit au peuple : souvenez-vous de ce jour, auquel vous êtes sortis d'Egypte, de la maison de servitude ; car l'Eternel vous en a retirés par main forte ; on ne mangera donc point de pain levé.

KJV ⁴ This day came ye out in the month Abib.

WLC ⁴ הַיּ֖וֹם אַתֶּ֣ם יֹצְאִ֑ים בְּחֹ֖דֶשׁ הָאָבִֽיב׃

KJV ⁵ And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

MAR ⁵ Quand donc l'Eternel t'aura introduit au pays des Chananéens, des Héthiens, des Amorrhéens, des Héviens et des Jébusiens, lequel il a juré à tes pères de te donner, et qui est un pays découlant de lait et de miel ; alors tu feras ce service en ce mois-ci.

WLC ⁵ וְהָיָ֣ה כִֽי־ יְבִֽיאֲךָ֣ יְהוָ֡ה אֶל־ אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽ֠כְּנַעֲנִי וְהַחִתִּ֨י וְהָאֱמֹרִ֜י וְהַחִוִּ֣י וְהַיְבוּסִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֤ע לַאֲבֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ לָ֣תֶת לָ֔ךְ אֶ֛רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב וּדְבָ֑שׁ וְעָבַדְתָּ֛ אֶת־ הָעֲבֹדָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַזֶּֽה׃

KJV ⁶ Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.

MAR ⁶ Durant sept jours tu mangeras des pains sans levain, et au septième jour il y aura une fête solennelle à l'Eternel.

WLC ⁶ שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים תֹּאכַ֣ל מַצֹּ֑ת וּבַיּוֹם֙ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י חַ֖ג לַיהוָֽה׃

KJV ⁷ Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

MAR ⁷ On mangera durant sept jours des pains sans levain ; et il ne sera point vu chez toi de pain levé ; et même il ne sera point vu de levain en toutes tes contrées.

WLC ⁷ מַצּוֹת֙ יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל אֵ֖ת שִׁבְעַ֣ת הַיָּמִ֑ים וְלֹֽא־ יֵרָאֶ֨ה לְךָ֜ חָמֵ֗ץ וְלֹֽא־ יֵרָאֶ֥ה לְךָ֛ שְׂאֹ֖ר בְּכָל־ גְּבֻלֶֽךָ׃

KJV ⁸ And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

MAR ⁸ Et en ce jour-là tu feras entendre ces choses à tes enfants, en disant : c'est à cause de ce que l'Eternel m'a fait en me retirant d'Egypte.

WLC ⁸ וְהִגַּדְתָּ֣ לְבִנְךָ֔ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא לֵאמֹ֑ר בַּעֲב֣וּר זֶ֗ה עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ לִ֔י בְּצֵאתִ֖י מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ⁹ And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD's law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

MAR ⁹ Et ceci te sera pour signe sur ta main, et pour mémorial entre tes yeux, afin que la Loi de l'Eternel soit en ta bouche, parce que l'Eternel t'aura retiré d'Egypte par main forte.

WLC ⁹ וְהָיָה֩ לְךָ֨ לְא֜וֹת עַל־ יָדְךָ֗ וּלְזִכָּרוֹן֙ בֵּ֣ין עֵינֶ֔יךָ לְמַ֗עַן תִּהְיֶ֛ה תּוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה בְּפִ֑יךָ כִּ֚י בְּיָ֣ד חֲזָקָ֔ה הוֹצִֽאֲךָ֥ יְהֹוָ֖ה מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹⁰ Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.

MAR ¹⁰ Tu garderas donc cette ordonnance en sa saison, d'année en année.

WLC ¹⁰ וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֛ אֶת־ הַחֻקָּ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את לְמוֹעֲדָ֑הּ מִיָּמִ֖ים יָמִֽימָה׃

WLC ¹¹ וְהָיָ֞ה כִּֽי־ יְבִֽאֲךָ֤ יְהוָה֙ אֶל־ אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר נִשְׁבַּ֥ע לְךָ֖ וְלַֽאֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ וּנְתָנָ֖הּ לָֽךְ׃

KJV ¹² That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD's.

MAR ¹² Alors tu présenteras à l'Eternel tout ce qui ouvre la matrice ; même tout ce qui en sortant ouvre la portière des bêtes ; ce que tu auras de mâles sera à l'Eternel.

WLC ¹² וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ֥ כָל־ פֶּֽטֶר־ רֶ֖חֶם לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה וְכָל־ פֶּ֣טֶר ׀ שֶׁ֣גֶר בְּהֵמָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִהְיֶ֥ה לְךָ֛ הַזְּכָרִ֖ים לַיהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹³ And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

MAR ¹³ Mais tu rachèteras avec un petit d'entre les brebis ou d'entre les chèvres, toute première portée des ânesses, et si tu ne le rachètes point, tu lui couperas le cou. Tu rachèteras aussi tout premier-né des hommes entre tes enfants.

WLC ¹³ וְכָל־ פֶּ֤טֶר חֲמֹר֙ תִּפְדֶּ֣ה בְשֶׂ֔ה וְאִם־ לֹ֥א תִפְדֶּ֖ה וַעֲרַפְתּ֑וֹ וְכֹ֨ל בְּכ֥וֹר אָדָ֛ם בְּבָנֶ֖יךָ תִּפְדֶּֽה׃

KJV ¹⁴ And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

MAR ¹⁴ Et quand ton fils t'interrogera à l'avenir, en disant : que veut dire ceci ? Alors tu lui diras : l'Eternel nous a retirés par main forte hors d'Egypte, de la maison de servitude.

WLC ¹⁴ וְהָיָ֞ה כִּֽי־ יִשְׁאָלְךָ֥ בִנְךָ֛ מָחָ֖ר לֵאמֹ֣ר מַה־ זֹּ֑את וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֔יו בְּחֹ֣זֶק יָ֗ד הוֹצִיאָ֧נוּ יְהוָ֛ה מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם מִבֵּ֥ית עֲבָדִֽים׃

KJV ¹⁵ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.

MAR ¹⁵ Car il arriva que quand Pharaon s'opiniâtra à ne nous laisser point aller, l'Eternel tua tous les premiers-nés au pays d'Egypte, depuis les premiers-nés des hommes jusques aux premiers-nés des bêtes ; c'est pourquoi je sacrifie à l'Eternel tout mâle qui ouvre la portière, et je rachète tout premier-né de mes enfants.

WLC ¹⁵ וַיְהִ֗י כִּֽי־ הִקְשָׁ֣ה פַרְעֹה֮ לְשַׁלְּחֵנוּ֒ וַיַּהֲרֹ֨ג יְהֹוָ֤ה כָּל־ בְּכוֹר֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִבְּכֹ֥ר אָדָ֖ם וְעַד־ בְּכ֣וֹר בְּהֵמָ֑ה עַל־ כֵּן֩ אֲנִ֨י זֹבֵ֜חַ לַֽיהוָ֗ה כָּל־ פֶּ֤טֶר רֶ֙חֶם֙ הַזְּכָרִ֔ים וְכָל־ בְּכ֥וֹר בָּנַ֖י אֶפְדֶּֽה׃

KJV ¹⁶ And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.

MAR ¹⁶ Ceci te sera donc pour signe sur ta main, et pour fronteaux entre tes yeux, que l'Eternel nous a retirés d'Egypte par main forte.

WLC ¹⁶ וְהָיָ֤ה לְאוֹת֙ עַל־ יָ֣דְכָ֔ה וּלְטוֹטָפֹ֖ת בֵּ֣ין עֵינֶ֑יךָ כִּ֚י בְּחֹ֣זֶק יָ֔ד הוֹצִיאָ֥נוּ יְהוָ֖ה מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹⁷ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

MAR ¹⁷ Or quand Pharaon eut laissé aller le peuple, Dieu ne les conduisit point par le chemin du pays des Philistins, quoi qu'il fût le plus court ; car Dieu disait : c'est afin qu'il n'arrive que le peuple se repente quand il verra la guerre, et qu'il ne retourne en Egypte.

WLC ¹⁷ וַיְהִ֗י בְּשַׁלַּ֣ח פַּרְעֹה֮ אֶת־ הָעָם֒ וְלֹא־ נָחָ֣ם אֱלֹהִ֗ים דֶּ֚רֶךְ אֶ֣רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים כִּ֥י קָר֖וֹב ה֑וּא כִּ֣י ׀ אָמַ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֗ים פֶּֽן־ יִנָּחֵ֥ם הָעָ֛ם בִּרְאֹתָ֥ם מִלְחָמָ֖ה וְשָׁ֥בוּ מִצְרָֽיְמָה׃

KJV ¹⁸ But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

MAR ¹⁸ Mais Dieu fit tournoyer le peuple par le chemin du désert, vers la mer rouge. Ainsi les enfants d'Israël montèrent en armes du pays d'Egypte.

WLC ¹⁸ וַיַּסֵּ֨ב אֱלֹהִ֧ים ׀ אֶת־ הָעָ֛ם דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַמִּדְבָּ֖ר יַם־ ס֑וּף וַחֲמֻשִׁ֛ים עָל֥וּ בְנֵי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹⁹ And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

MAR ¹⁹ Et Moïse avait pris avec soi les os de Joseph ; parce que [Joseph] avait expressément fait jurer les enfants d'Israël, [en leur] disant : Dieu vous visitera très-certainement, vous transporterez donc avec vous mes os d'ici.

WLC ¹⁹ וַיִּקַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־ עַצְמ֥וֹת יוֹסֵ֖ף עִמּ֑וֹ כִּי֩ הַשְׁבֵּ֨עַ הִשְׁבִּ֜יעַ אֶת־ בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר פָּקֹ֨ד יִפְקֹ֤ד אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְהַעֲלִיתֶ֧ם אֶת־ עַצְמֹתַ֛י מִזֶּ֖ה אִתְּכֶֽם׃

KJV ²⁰ And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

MAR ²⁰ Et ils partirent de Succoth, et se campèrent à Etham, qui est au bout du désert.

WLC ²⁰ וַיִּסְע֖וּ מִסֻּכֹּ֑ת וַיַּחֲנ֣וּ בְאֵתָ֔ם בִּקְצֵ֖ה הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃

KJV ²¹ And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

MAR ²¹ Et l'Eternel allait devant eux, de jour dans une colonne de nuée pour les conduire par le chemin ; et de nuit dans une colonne de feu pour les éclairer, afin qu'ils marchassent jour et nuit.

WLC ²¹ וַֽיהוָ֡ה הֹלֵךְ֩ לִפְנֵיהֶ֨ם יוֹמָ֜ם בְּעַמּ֤וּד עָנָן֙ לַנְחֹתָ֣ם הַדֶּ֔רֶךְ וְלַ֛יְלָה בְּעַמּ֥וּד אֵ֖שׁ לְהָאִ֣יר לָהֶ֑ם לָלֶ֖כֶת יוֹמָ֥ם וָלָֽיְלָה׃

KJV ²² He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

MAR ²² [Et] il ne retira point la colonne de nuée le jour, ni la colonne de feu la nuit, de devant le peuple.

KJV ¹ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

KJV ² Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

MAR ² Parle aux enfants d'Israël ; [et leur dis], qu'ils se détournent, et qu'ils se campent devant Pi-Hahiroth, entre Migdol et la mer, vis-à-vis de Bahal-Tsépnon ; vous camperez vis-à-vis de ce [lieu-là] près de la mer.

WLC ² דַּבֵּר֮ אֶל־ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וְיָשֻׁ֗בוּ וְיַחֲנוּ֙ לִפְנֵי֙ פִּ֣י הַחִירֹ֔ת בֵּ֥ין מִגְדֹּ֖ל וּבֵ֣ין הַיָּ֑ם לִפְנֵי֙ בַּ֣עַל צְפֹ֔ן נִכְח֥וֹ תַחֲנ֖וּ עַל־ הַיָּֽם׃

KJV ³ For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

MAR ³ Alors Pharaon dira des enfants d'Israël : ils sont embarrassés dans le pays, le désert les a enfermés.

WLC ³ וְאָמַ֤ר פַּרְעֹה֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְבֻכִ֥ים הֵ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ סָגַ֥ר עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃

KJV ⁴ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

MAR ⁴ Et j'endurcirai le coeur de Pharaon, et il vous poursuivra ; ainsi je serai glorifié en Pharaon, et en toute son armée, et les Egyptiens sauront que je suis l'Eternel ; et ils firent ainsi.

WLC ⁴ וְחִזַּקְתִּ֣י אֶת־ לֵב־ פַּרְעֹה֮ וְרָדַ֣ף אַחֲרֵיהֶם֒ וְאִכָּבְדָ֤ה בְּפַרְעֹה֙ וּבְכָל־ חֵיל֔וֹ וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם כִּֽי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־ כֵֽן׃

KJV ⁵ And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

MAR ⁵ Or on avait rapporté au Roi d'Egypte que le peuple s'enfuyait, et le coeur de Pharaon et de ses serviteurs fut changé à l'égard du peuple, et ils dirent : qu'[est-ce que] nous avons fait, que nous ayons laissé aller Israël, en sorte qu'il ne nous servira plus ?

WLC ⁵ וַיֻּגַּד֙ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם כִּ֥י בָרַ֖ח הָעָ֑ם וַ֠יֵּהָפֵךְ לְבַ֨ב פַּרְעֹ֤ה וַעֲבָדָיו֙ אֶל־ הָעָ֔ם וַיֹּֽאמרוּ֙ מַה־ זֹּ֣את עָשִׂ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־ שִׁלַּ֥חְנוּ אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵעָבְדֵֽנוּ׃

KJV ⁶ And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

MAR ⁶ Alors il fit atteler son chariot, et il prit son peuple avec soi.

WLC ⁶ וַיֶּאְסֹ֖ר אֶת־ רִכְבּ֑וֹ וְאֶת־ עַמּ֖וֹ לָקַ֥ח עִמּֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁷ And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

MAR ⁷ Il prit donc six cents chariots d'élite, et tous les chariots d'Egypte ; et il y avait des Capitaines sur tout cela.

WLC ⁷ וַיִּקַּ֗ח שֵׁשׁ־ מֵא֥וֹת רֶ֙כֶב֙ בָּח֔וּר וְכֹ֖ל רֶ֣כֶב מִצְרָ֑יִם וְשָׁלִשִׁ֖ם עַל־ כֻּלּֽוֹ׃

KJV ⁸ And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.

MAR ⁸ Et l'Eternel endurcit le coeur de Pharaon Roi d'Egypte, qui poursuivit les enfants d'Israël. Or les enfants d'Israël étaient sortis à main levée.

WLC ⁸ וַיְחַזֵּ֣ק יְהֹוָ֗ה אֶת־ לֵ֤ב פַּרְעֹה֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּרְדֹּ֕ף אַחֲרֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יֹצְאִ֖ים בְּיָ֥ד רָמָֽה׃

KJV ⁹ But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

MAR ⁹ Les Egyptiens donc les poursuivirent ; et tous les chevaux des chariots de Pharaon, ses gens de cheval, et son armée les atteignirent comme ils étaient campés près de la mer, vers Pi-Hahiroth vis-à-vis de Bahal-Tséphon.

WLC ⁹ וַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּ מִצְרַ֜יִם אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם וַיַּשִּׂ֤יגוּ אוֹתָם֙ חֹנִ֣ים עַל־ הַיָּ֔ם כָּל־ סוּס֙ רֶ֣כֶב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וּפָרָשָׁ֖יו וְחֵיל֑וֹ עַל־ פִּי֙ הַֽחִירֹ֔ת לִפְנֵ֖י בַּ֥עַל צְפֹֽן׃

KJV ¹⁰ And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

MAR ¹⁰ Et lorsque Pharaon se fut approché, les enfants d'Israël levèrent leurs yeux, et voici, les Egyptiens marchaient après eux, et les enfants d'Israël eurent une fort grande peur, et crièrent à l'Eternel.

WLC ¹⁰ וּפַרְעֹ֖ה הִקְרִ֑יב וַיִּשְׂאוּ֩ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־ עֵינֵיהֶ֜ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה מִצְרַ֣יִם ׀ נֹסֵ֣עַ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם וַיִּֽירְאוּ֙ מְאֹ֔ד וַיִּצְעֲק֥וּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹¹ And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

MAR ¹¹ Et dirent à Moïse : est-ce qu'il n'y avait pas de sépulcres en Egypte, que tu nous aies emmenés pour mourir au désert ? Qu'est-ce que tu nous as fait de nous avoir fait sortir d'Egypte ?

WLC ¹¹ וַיֹּאמְרוּ֮ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁה֒ הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־ קְבָרִים֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם לְקַחְתָּ֖נוּ לָמ֣וּת בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר מַה־ זֹּאת֙ עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֔נוּ לְהוֹצִיאָ֖נוּ מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹² Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

MAR ¹² N'est-ce pas ce que nous te disions en Egypte, disant : retire-toi de nous, et que nous servions les Egyptiens ? Car il vaut mieux que nous les servions, que si nous mourions au désert.

WLC ¹² הֲלֹא־ זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֩ דִּבַּ֨רְנוּ אֵלֶ֤יךָ בְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר חֲדַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּ וְנַֽעַבְדָ֣ה אֶת־ מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּ֣י ט֥וֹב לָ֙נוּ֙ עֲבֹ֣ד אֶת־ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִמֻּתֵ֖נוּ בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃

KJV ¹³ And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

MAR ¹³ Et Moïse dit au peuple : ne craignez point, arrêtez-vous, et voyez la délivrance de l'Eternel, laquelle il vous donnera aujourd'hui ; car pour les Egyptiens que vous avez vus aujourd'hui, vous ne les verrez plus.

WLC ¹³ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶל־ הָעָם֮ אַל־ תִּירָאוּ֒ הִֽתְיַצְב֗וּ וּרְאוּ֙ אֶת־ יְשׁוּעַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם כִּ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר רְאִיתֶ֤ם אֶת־ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ הַיּ֔וֹם לֹ֥א תֹסִ֛יפוּ לִרְאֹתָ֥ם ע֖וֹד עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁴ The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

MAR ¹⁴ L'Eternel combattra pour vous, et vous demeurerez tranquilles.

WLC ¹⁴ יְהוָ֖ה יִלָּחֵ֣ם לָכֶ֑ם וְאַתֶּ֖ם תַּחֲרִישֽׁוּן׃
