KJV ¹⁰ And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

S21 ¹⁰ Le pharaon approchait. Les Israélites levèrent les yeux et virent que les Egyptiens étaient en marche derrière eux. Ils éprouvèrent une grande frayeur et crièrent à l'Eternel.

VULC ¹⁰ Cumque appropinquasset Pharao, levantes filii Israël oculos, viderunt Ægyptios post se, et timuerunt valde : clamaveruntque ad Dominum,

WLC ¹⁰ וּפַרְעֹ֖ה הִקְרִ֑יב וַיִּשְׂאוּ֩ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־ עֵינֵיהֶ֜ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה מִצְרַ֣יִם ׀ נֹסֵ֣עַ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם וַיִּֽירְאוּ֙ מְאֹ֔ד וַיִּצְעֲק֥וּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־ יְהוָֽה׃

KJV ¹¹ And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

S21 ¹¹ Ils dirent à Moïse: «Est-ce parce qu'il n'y avait pas de tombeaux en Egypte que tu nous as emmenés dans le désert pour y mourir? Que nous as-tu fait en nous faisant sortir d'Egypte?

VULC ¹¹ et dixerunt ad Moysen : Forsitan non erant sepulchra in Ægypto, ideo tulisti nos ut moreremur in solitudine : quid hoc facere voluisti, ut educeres nos ex Ægypto ?

WLC ¹¹ וַיֹּאמְרוּ֮ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁה֒ הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־ קְבָרִים֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם לְקַחְתָּ֖נוּ לָמ֣וּת בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר מַה־ זֹּאת֙ עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֔נוּ לְהוֹצִיאָ֖נוּ מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

KJV ¹² Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

S21 ¹² N'est-ce pas précisément ce que nous te disions en Egypte: ‘Laisse-nous servir les Egyptiens, car nous préférons être esclaves des Egyptiens plutôt que de mourir dans le désert'?»

VULC ¹² nonne iste est sermo, quem loquebamur ad te in Ægypto, dicentes : Recede a nobis, ut serviamus Ægyptiis ? multo enim melius erat servire eis, quam mori in solitudine.

WLC ¹² הֲלֹא־ זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֩ דִּבַּ֨רְנוּ אֵלֶ֤יךָ בְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר חֲדַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּ וְנַֽעַבְדָ֣ה אֶת־ מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּ֣י ט֥וֹב לָ֙נוּ֙ עֲבֹ֣ד אֶת־ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִמֻּתֵ֖נוּ בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃

KJV ¹³ And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

S21 ¹³ Moïse répondit au peuple: «N'ayez pas peur, restez en place et regardez la délivrance que l'Eternel va vous accorder aujourd'hui. En effet, les Egyptiens que vous voyez aujourd'hui, vous ne les verrez plus jamais.

VULC ¹³ Et ait Moyses ad populum : Nolite timere : state, et videte magnalia Domini quæ facturus est hodie : Ægyptios enim, quos nunc videtis, nequaquam ultra videbitis usque in sempiternum.

WLC ¹³ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶל־ הָעָם֮ אַל־ תִּירָאוּ֒ הִֽתְיַצְב֗וּ וּרְאוּ֙ אֶת־ יְשׁוּעַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־ יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם כִּ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר רְאִיתֶ֤ם אֶת־ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ הַיּ֔וֹם לֹ֥א תֹסִ֛יפוּ לִרְאֹתָ֥ם ע֖וֹד עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

KJV ¹⁴ The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

S21 ¹⁴ C'est l'Eternel qui combattra pour vous. Quant à vous, gardez le silence!»

VULC ¹⁴ Dominus pugnabit pro vobis, et vos tacebitis.

WLC ¹⁴ יְהוָ֖ה יִלָּחֵ֣ם לָכֶ֑ם וְאַתֶּ֖ם תַּחֲרִישֽׁוּן׃

KJV ¹⁵ And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

S21 ¹⁵ L'Eternel dit à Moïse: «Pourquoi ces cris? Dis aux Israélites de se remettre en marche.

VULC ¹⁵ Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen : Quid clamas ad me ? loquere filiis Israël ut proficiscantur.

WLC ¹⁵ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֔ה מַה־ תִּצְעַ֖ק אֵלָ֑י דַּבֵּ֥ר אֶל־ בְּנֵי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְיִסָּֽעוּ׃

KJV ¹⁶ But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

S21 ¹⁶ Et toi, lève ton bâton, tends ta main sur la mer et fends-la; ainsi les Israélites pénétreront au milieu de la mer à pied sec.

VULC ¹⁶ Tu autem eleva virgam tuam, et extende manum tuam super mare, et divide illud : ut gradiantur filii Israël in medio mari per siccum.

WLC ¹⁶ וְאַתָּ֞ה הָרֵ֣ם אֶֽת־ מַטְּךָ֗ וּנְטֵ֧ה אֶת־ יָדְךָ֛ עַל־ הַיָּ֖ם וּבְקָעֵ֑הוּ וְיָבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּ֖ם בַּיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃

KJV ¹⁷ And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

S21 ¹⁷ Quant à moi, je vais endurcir le cœur des Egyptiens pour qu'ils y pénètrent après eux, et le pharaon ainsi que toute son armée, ses chars et ses cavaliers feront éclater ma gloire.

VULC ¹⁷ Ego autem indurabo cor Ægyptiorum ut persequantur vos : et glorificabor in Pharaone, et in omni exercitu ejus, et in curribus et in equitibus illius.

WLC ¹⁷ וַאֲנִ֗י הִנְנִ֤י מְחַזֵּק֙ אֶת־ לֵ֣ב מִצְרַ֔יִם וְיָבֹ֖אוּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם וְאִכָּבְדָ֤ה בְּפַרְעֹה֙ וּבְכָל־ חֵיל֔וֹ בְּרִכְבּ֖וֹ וּבְפָרָשָֽׁיו׃

KJV ¹⁸ And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

S21 ¹⁸ Les Egyptiens sauront que je suis l'Eternel quand le pharaon, ses chars et ses cavaliers auront fait éclater ma gloire.»

VULC ¹⁸ Et scient Ægyptii quia ego sum Dominus cum glorificatus fuero in Pharaone, et in curribus atque in equitibus ejus.

WLC ¹⁸ וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם כִּי־ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה בְּהִכָּבְדִ֣י בְּפַרְעֹ֔ה בְּרִכְבּ֖וֹ וּבְפָרָשָֽׁיו׃

KJV ¹⁹ And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

S21 ¹⁹ L'ange de Dieu, qui marchait devant le camp d'Israël, quitta cette position et marcha derrière eux, et la colonne de nuée qui les précédait fit de même.

WLC ¹⁹ וַיִּסַּ֞ע מַלְאַ֣ךְ הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים הַהֹלֵךְ֙ לִפְנֵי֙ מַחֲנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּסַּ֞ע עַמּ֤וּד הֶֽעָנָן֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיַּֽעֲמֹ֖ד מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃

KJV ²⁰ And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

S21 ²⁰ Elle se plaça entre le camp des Egyptiens et le camp d'Israël. Cette nuée était obscure d'un côté, et de l'autre elle éclairait la nuit. De toute la nuit, les deux camps ne s'approchèrent pas l'un de l'autre.

VULC ²⁰ stetit, inter castra Ægyptiorum et castra Israël : et erat nubes tenebrosa, et illuminans noctem, ita ut ad se invicem toto noctis tempore accedere non valerent.

WLC ²⁰ וַיָּבֹ֞א בֵּ֣ין ׀ מַחֲנֵ֣ה מִצְרַ֗יִם וּבֵין֙ מַחֲנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיְהִ֤י הֶֽעָנָן֙ וְהַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ וַיָּ֖אֶר אֶת־ הַלָּ֑יְלָה וְלֹא־ קָרַ֥ב זֶ֛ה אֶל־ זֶ֖ה כָּל־ הַלָּֽיְלָה׃

KJV ²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

S21 ²¹ Moïse tendit sa main sur la mer et l'Eternel refoula la mer au moyen d'un vent d'est qui souffla avec violence toute la nuit; il assécha la mer et l'eau se partagea.

VULC ²¹ Cumque extendisset Moyses manum super mare, abstulit illud Dominus flante vento vehementi et urente tota nocte, et vertit in siccum : divisaque est aqua.

WLC ²¹ וַיֵּ֨ט מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶת־ יָדוֹ֮ עַל־ הַיָּם֒ וַיּ֣וֹלֶךְ יְהוָ֣ה ׀ אֶת־ הַ֠יָּם בְּר֨וּחַ קָדִ֤ים עַזָּה֙ כָּל־ הַלַּ֔יְלָה וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־ הַיָּ֖ם לֶחָרָבָ֑ה וַיִּבָּקְע֖וּ הַמָּֽיִם׃

KJV ²² And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

S21 ²² Les Israélites pénétrèrent au milieu de la mer à pied sec et l'eau formait comme une muraille à leur droite et à leur gauche.

VULC ²² Et ingressi sunt filii Israël per medium sicci maris : erat enim aqua quasi murus a dextra eorum et læva.

WLC ²² וַיָּבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּ֖ם בַּיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה וְהַמַּ֤יִם לָהֶם֙ חֹמָ֔ה מִֽימִינָ֖ם וּמִשְּׂמֹאלָֽם׃
