BAN ¹ Or le serpent était le plus fin des animaux des champs que l'Eternel Dieu avait faits. Et il dit à la femme : Est-ce que Dieu aurait dit : Vous ne mangerez pas de tout arbre du jardin ?

KJV ¹ Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

WLC ¹ וְהַנָּחָשׁ֙ הָיָ֣ה עָר֔וּם מִכֹּל֙ חַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־ הָ֣אִשָּׁ֔ה אַ֚ף כִּֽי־ אָמַ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֔ים לֹ֣א תֹֽאכְל֔וּ מִכֹּ֖ל עֵ֥ץ הַגָּֽן׃

BAN ² Et la femme répondit au serpent : Nous mangeons du fruit des arbres du jardin ;

KJV ² And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

WLC ² וַתֹּ֥אמֶר הָֽאִשָּׁ֖ה אֶל־ הַנָּחָ֑שׁ מִפְּרִ֥י עֵֽץ־ הַגָּ֖ן נֹאכֵֽל׃

BAN ³ mais du fruit de l'arbre qui est au milieu du jardin, Dieu a dit : Vous n'en mangerez pas et vous n'y toucherez pas, de peur que vous ne mouriez.

KJV ³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

WLC ³ וּמִפְּרִ֣י הָעֵץ֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּתוֹךְ־ הַגָּן֒ אָמַ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֗ים לֹ֤א תֹֽאכְלוּ֙ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְלֹ֥א תִגְּע֖וּ בּ֑וֹ פֶּן־ תְּמֻתֽוּן׃

BAN ⁴ Et le serpent dit à la femme : Vous ne mourrez nullement ;

KJV ⁴ And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

WLC ⁴ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר הַנָּחָ֖שׁ אֶל־ הָֽאִשָּׁ֑ה לֹֽא־ מ֖וֹת תְּמֻתֽוּן׃

BAN ⁵ mais Dieu sait qu'au jour où vous en mangerez, vos yeux s'ouvriront et vous serez comme Dieu, connaissant le bien et le mal.

KJV ⁵ For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

WLC ⁵ כִּ֚י יֹדֵ֣עַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים כִּ֗י בְּיוֹם֙ אֲכָלְכֶ֣ם מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְנִפְקְח֖וּ עֵֽינֵיכֶ֑ם וִהְיִיתֶם֙ כֵּֽאלֹהִ֔ים יֹדְעֵ֖י ט֥וֹב וָרָֽע׃

BAN ⁶ Et la femme vit que l'arbre était bon à manger et qu'il était agréable aux yeux et que l'arbre était désirable pour devenir intelligent ; et elle prit de son fruit et en mangea, et elle en donna aussi à son mari qui était avec elle, et il en mangea.

KJV ⁶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

WLC ⁶ וַתֵּ֣רֶא הָֽאִשָּׁ֡ה כִּ֣י טוֹב֩ הָעֵ֨ץ לְמַאֲכָ֜ל וְכִ֧י תַֽאֲוָה־ ה֣וּא לָעֵינַ֗יִם וְנֶחְמָ֤ד הָעֵץ֙ לְהַשְׂכִּ֔יל וַתִּקַּ֥ח מִפִּרְי֖וֹ וַתֹּאכַ֑ל וַתִּתֵּ֧ן גַּם־ לְאִישָׁ֛הּ עִמָּ֖הּ וַיֹּאכַֽל׃
