KJV ⁵ Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:

MAR ⁵ Et combien plus l'homme adonné au vin est-il prévaricateur, et l'homme puissant est-il orgueilleux, ne se tenant point tranquille chez soi ; qui élargit son âme comme le sépulcre, et qui est insatiable comme la mort, il amasse vers lui toutes les nations, et réunit à soi tous les peuples ?

WLC ⁵ וְאַף֙ כִּֽי־ הַיַּ֣יִן בּוֹגֵ֔ד גֶּ֥בֶר יָהִ֖יר וְלֹ֣א יִנְוֶ֑ה אֲשֶׁר֩ הִרְחִ֨יב כִּשְׁא֜וֹל נַפְשׁ֗וֹ וְה֤וּא כַמָּ֙וֶת֙ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׂבָּ֔ע וַיֶּאֱסֹ֤ף אֵלָיו֙ כָּל־ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם וַיִּקְבֹּ֥ץ אֵלָ֖יו כָּל־ הָעַמִּֽים׃

KJV ⁶ Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!

MAR ⁶ Tous ceux-là ne feront-ils pas de lui un sujet de raillerie et de sentences énigmatiques ? Et ne dira-t-on pas : Malheur à celui qui assemble ce qui ne lui appartient point ; jusqu'à quand le [fera t-il], et entassera-t-il sur soi de la boue épaisse ?

WLC ⁶ הֲלוֹא־ אֵ֣לֶּה כֻלָּ֗ם עָלָיו֙ מָשָׁ֣ל יִשָּׂ֔אוּ וּמְלִיצָ֖ה חִיד֣וֹת ל֑וֹ וְיֹאמַ֗ר ה֚וֹי הַמַּרְבֶּ֣ה לֹּא־ ל֔וֹ עַד־ מָתַ֕י וּמַכְבִּ֥יד עָלָ֖יו עַבְטִֽיט׃

KJV ⁷ Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?

MAR ⁷ N'y en aura-t-il point qui tout incontinent s'élèveront pour te mordre ? Et ne s'en réveillera-t-il point qui te feront courir çà et là, et à qui tu seras en pillage ?

WLC ⁷ הֲל֣וֹא פֶ֗תַע יָק֙וּמוּ֙ נֹשְׁכֶ֔יךָ וְיִקְצ֖וּ מְזַעְזְעֶ֑יךָ וְהָיִ֥יתָ לִמְשִׁסּ֖וֹת לָֽמוֹ׃

KJV ⁸ Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

MAR ⁸ Parce que tu as butiné plusieurs nations, tout le reste des peuples te butinera, et à cause aussi des meurtres des hommes, et de la violence [faite] au pays, à la ville, et à tous ses habitants.

WLC ⁸ כִּֽי אַתָּ֤ה שַׁלּ֙וֹתָ֙ גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֔ים יְשָׁלּ֖וּךָ כָּל־ יֶ֣תֶר עַמִּ֑ים מִדְּמֵ֤י אָדָם֙ וַחֲמַס־ אֶ֔רֶץ קִרְיָ֖ה וְכָל־ יֹ֥שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃

KJV ⁹ Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!

MAR ⁹ Malheur à celui qui cherche à faire un gain injuste pour établir sa maison ; afin de placer son nid en haut pour être délivré de la griffe du malin.

WLC ⁹ ה֗וֹי בֹּצֵ֛עַ בֶּ֥צַע רָ֖ע לְבֵית֑וֹ לָשׂ֤וּם בַּמָּרוֹם֙ קִנּ֔וֹ לְהִנָּצֵ֖ל מִכַּף־ רָֽע׃

KJV ¹⁰ Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.

MAR ¹⁰ Tu as pris un conseil de confusion pour ta maison en consumant beaucoup de peuples, et tu as péché contre toi-même.

WLC ¹⁰ יָעַ֥צְתָּ בֹּ֖שֶׁת לְבֵיתֶ֑ךָ קְצוֹת־ עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים וְחוֹטֵ֥א נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃

KJV ¹¹ For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

MAR ¹¹ Car la pierre criera de la paroi, et les noeuds qui sont dans les poutres lui répondront.

WLC ¹¹ כִּי־ אֶ֖בֶן מִקִּ֣יר תִּזְעָ֑ק וְכָפִ֖יס מֵעֵ֥ץ יַעֲנֶֽנָּה׃

KJV ¹² Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!

MAR ¹² Malheur à celui qui cimente la ville avec le sang, et qui fonde la ville sur l'iniquité.

WLC ¹² ה֛וֹי בֹּנֶ֥ה עִ֖יר בְּדָמִ֑ים וְכוֹנֵ֥ן קִרְיָ֖ה בְּעַוְלָֽה׃

KJV ¹³ Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

MAR ¹³ Voici, n'[est]-ce pas de par l'Eternel des armées que les peuples travaillent pour en nourrir abondamment le feu, et que les nations se fatiguent très inutilement ?

WLC ¹³ הֲל֣וֹא הִנֵּ֔ה מֵאֵ֖ת יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת וְיִֽיגְע֤וּ עַמִּים֙ בְּדֵי־ אֵ֔שׁ וּלְאֻמִּ֖ים בְּדֵי־ רִ֥יק יִעָֽפוּ׃

KJV ¹⁴ For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

MAR ¹⁴ Mais la terre sera remplie de la connaissance de la gloire de l'Eternel, comme les eaux comblent la mer.
