KJV ⁵ Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:

S21 ⁵ Certes le vin est traître:
l'arrogant ne reste pas tranquille,
il élargit sa bouche comme le séjour des morts,
il est insatiable comme la mort;
il accueille toutes les nations,
il rassemble auprès de lui tous les peuples.

WLC ⁵ וְאַף֙ כִּֽי־ הַיַּ֣יִן בּוֹגֵ֔ד גֶּ֥בֶר יָהִ֖יר וְלֹ֣א יִנְוֶ֑ה אֲשֶׁר֩ הִרְחִ֨יב כִּשְׁא֜וֹל נַפְשׁ֗וֹ וְה֤וּא כַמָּ֙וֶת֙ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׂבָּ֔ע וַיֶּאֱסֹ֤ף אֵלָיו֙ כָּל־ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם וַיִּקְבֹּ֥ץ אֵלָ֖יו כָּל־ הָעַמִּֽים׃

KJV ⁶ Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay!

S21 ⁶ Mais tous feront de lui un sujet de proverbes,
de moqueries et d'énigmes.
On dira: «Malheur à celui qui accumule ce qui n'est pas à lui!
Jusqu'à quand?
Malheur à celui qui augmente le fardeau de ses dettes.»

WLC ⁶ הֲלוֹא־ אֵ֣לֶּה כֻלָּ֗ם עָלָיו֙ מָשָׁ֣ל יִשָּׂ֔אוּ וּמְלִיצָ֖ה חִיד֣וֹת ל֑וֹ וְיֹאמַ֗ר ה֚וֹי הַמַּרְבֶּ֣ה לֹּא־ ל֔וֹ עַד־ מָתַ֕י וּמַכְבִּ֥יד עָלָ֖יו עַבְטִֽיט׃

KJV ⁷ Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them?

S21 ⁷ Tes créanciers ne vont-ils pas se lever tout à coup?
Tes oppresseurs ne vont-ils pas se réveiller?
Tu deviendras leur proie.

WLC ⁷ הֲל֣וֹא פֶ֗תַע יָק֙וּמוּ֙ נֹשְׁכֶ֔יךָ וְיִקְצ֖וּ מְזַעְזְעֶ֑יךָ וְהָיִ֥יתָ לִמְשִׁסּ֖וֹת לָֽמוֹ׃

KJV ⁸ Because thou hast spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoil thee; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.

S21 ⁸ Puisque tu as pillé beaucoup de nations,
tout le reste des peuples te pillera.
En effet, tu as versé le sang des hommes,
tu as commis des violences dans le pays
contre la ville et tous ses habitants.

WLC ⁸ כִּֽי אַתָּ֤ה שַׁלּ֙וֹתָ֙ גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֔ים יְשָׁלּ֖וּךָ כָּל־ יֶ֣תֶר עַמִּ֑ים מִדְּמֵ֤י אָדָם֙ וַחֲמַס־ אֶ֔רֶץ קִרְיָ֖ה וְכָל־ יֹ֥שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃

KJV ⁹ Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil!

S21 ⁹ Malheur à celui qui amasse pour sa maison des gains malhonnêtes
afin de placer son nid sur les hauteurs,
pour se garantir de l'atteinte du malheur!

WLC ⁹ ה֗וֹי בֹּצֵ֛עַ בֶּ֥צַע רָ֖ע לְבֵית֑וֹ לָשׂ֤וּם בַּמָּרוֹם֙ קִנּ֔וֹ לְהִנָּצֵ֖ל מִכַּף־ רָֽע׃

KJV ¹⁰ Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul.

S21 ¹⁰ C'est la honte de ta maison que tu as décidée
en détruisant des peuples nombreux,
et c'est contre toi-même que tu as péché.

WLC ¹⁰ יָעַ֥צְתָּ בֹּ֖שֶׁת לְבֵיתֶ֑ךָ קְצוֹת־ עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים וְחוֹטֵ֥א נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃

KJV ¹¹ For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

S21 ¹¹ En effet, la pierre crie du milieu de la muraille,
et le bois de la charpente lui répond.

WLC ¹¹ כִּי־ אֶ֖בֶן מִקִּ֣יר תִּזְעָ֑ק וְכָפִ֖יס מֵעֵ֥ץ יַעֲנֶֽנָּה׃

KJV ¹² Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity!

S21 ¹² Malheur à celui qui construit une ville avec le sang,
qui fonde une ville avec le crime!

WLC ¹² ה֛וֹי בֹּנֶ֥ה עִ֖יר בְּדָמִ֑ים וְכוֹנֵ֥ן קִרְיָ֖ה בְּעַוְלָֽה׃

KJV ¹³ Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

S21 ¹³ Cela ne vient-il pas de l'Eternel, le maître de l'univers?
*Des peuples travaillent pour du feu,
des nations s'épuisent pour du vide. 

WLC ¹³ הֲל֣וֹא הִנֵּ֔ה מֵאֵ֖ת יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת וְיִֽיגְע֤וּ עַמִּים֙ בְּדֵי־ אֵ֔שׁ וּלְאֻמִּ֖ים בְּדֵי־ רִ֥יק יִעָֽפוּ׃

KJV ¹⁴ For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

S21 ¹⁴ En effet, *la terre sera remplie de la connaissance de la gloire de l'Eternel,
tout comme le fond de la mer est recouvert par l'eau. 

WLC ¹⁴ כִּ֚י תִּמָּלֵ֣א הָאָ֔רֶץ לָדַ֖עַת אֶת־ כְּב֣וֹד יְהוָ֑ה כַּמַּ֖יִם יְכַסּ֥וּ עַל־ יָֽם׃
