DRB ²⁶ Et au sixième mois, l'ange Gabriel fut envoyé par Dieu dans une ville de Galilée, nommée Nazareth,

KJV ²⁶ And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

DRB ²⁷ à une vierge, fiancée à un homme dont le nom était Joseph, de la maison de David ; et le nom de la vierge était Marie.

KJV ²⁷ To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

DRB ²⁸ Et l'ange étant entré auprès d'elle, dit : Je te salue, toi que [Dieu] fait jouir de sa faveur ! Le *Seigneur est avec toi ; tu es bénie entre les femmes.

KJV ²⁸ And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

DRB ²⁹ Et elle, le voyant, fut troublée à sa parole ; et elle raisonnait en elle-même sur ce que pourrait être cette salutation.

KJV ²⁹ And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

DRB ³⁰ Et l'ange lui dit : Ne crains pas, Marie, car tu as trouvé grâce auprès de Dieu.

KJV ³⁰ And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

DRB ³¹ Et voici, tu concevras dans ton ventre, et tu enfanteras un fils, et tu appelleras son nom Jésus.

KJV ³¹ And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

DRB ³² Il sera grand et sera appelé le Fils du Très-haut* ; et le *Seigneur Dieu** lui donnera le trône de David son père ;

KJV ³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

DRB ³³ et il régnera sur la maison de Jacob à toujours*, et il n'y aura pas de fin à son royaume.

KJV ³³ And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

DRB ³⁴ Et Marie dit à l'ange : Comment ceci arrivera-t-il, puisque je ne connais pas d'homme ?

KJV ³⁴ Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

DRB ³⁵ Et l'ange, répondant, lui dit : L'Esprit Saint viendra sur toi, et la puissance du Très-haut te couvrira de son ombre ; c'est pourquoi aussi la sainte chose qui naîtra sera appelée Fils de Dieu.

KJV ³⁵ And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

DRB ³⁶ Et voici, Élisabeth ta parente, elle aussi a conçu un fils dans sa vieillesse, et c'est ici le sixième mois pour celle qui était appelée stérile ;

KJV ³⁶ And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

DRB ³⁷ car rien ne sera impossible à Dieu.

KJV ³⁷ For with God nothing shall be impossible.

DRB ³⁸ Et Marie dit : Voici l'esclave du *Seigneur ; qu'il me soit fait selon ta parole. Et l'ange se retira d'auprès d'elle.

KJV ³⁸ And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

DRB ³⁹ Et Marie, se levant en ces jours-là, s'en alla en hâte au pays des montagnes, dans une ville de Juda.

KJV ³⁹ And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

DRB ⁴⁰ Et elle entra dans la maison de Zacharie et salua Élisabeth.

KJV ⁴⁰ And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

DRB ⁴¹ Et il arriva, comme Élisabeth entendait la salutation de Marie, que le petit enfant tressaillit dans son ventre ; et Élisabeth fut remplie de l'Esprit Saint,

KJV ⁴¹ And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

DRB ⁴² et elle s'écria à haute voix et dit : Tu es bénie entre les femmes, et béni est le fruit de ton ventre !

KJV ⁴² And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

DRB ⁴³ Et d'où me vient ceci, que la mère de mon Seigneur vienne vers moi ?

KJV ⁴³ And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

DRB ⁴⁴ Car voici, dès que la voix de ta salutation est parvenue à mes oreilles, le petit enfant a tressailli de joie dans mon ventre.

KJV ⁴⁴ For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

DRB ⁴⁵ Et bienheureuse est celle qui a cru ; car il y aura un accomplissement des choses qui lui ont été dites de la part du *Seigneur.

KJV ⁴⁵ And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

DRB ⁴⁶ Et Marie dit : Mon âme magnifie le *Seigneur,

KJV ⁴⁶ And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

DRB ⁴⁷ et mon esprit s'est réjoui en Dieu mon Sauveur,

KJV ⁴⁷ And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

DRB ⁴⁸ car il a regardé l'humble état de son esclave ; car voici, désormais toutes les générations me diront bienheureuse ;

KJV ⁴⁸ For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

DRB ⁴⁹ car le Puissant m'a fait de grandes choses, et son nom est saint ;

KJV ⁴⁹ For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

DRB ⁵⁰ et sa miséricorde est de générations en générations sur ceux qui le craignent.

KJV ⁵⁰ And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

DRB ⁵¹ Il a agi puissamment par son bras ; il a dispersé les orgueilleux dans la pensée de leur cœur ;

KJV ⁵¹ He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

DRB ⁵² il a fait descendre les puissants de leurs trônes, et il a élevé les petits ;

KJV ⁵² He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

DRB ⁵³ il a rempli de biens ceux qui avaient faim, et il a renvoyé les riches à vide ;

KJV ⁵³ He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

DRB ⁵⁴ il a pris la cause d'Israël, son serviteur, pour se souvenir de sa miséricorde

KJV ⁵⁴ He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

DRB ⁵⁵ (selon qu'il avait parlé à nos pères) envers Abraham et envers sa semence, à jamais.

KJV ⁵⁵ As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

DRB ⁵⁶ - Et Marie demeura avec elle environ trois mois ; et elle s'en retourna en sa maison.

KJV ⁵⁶ And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
