KJV ²⁸ And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

LSG ²⁸ Ils répondirent: Jean Baptiste ; les autres, Élie, les autres, l'un des prophètes.

KJV ²⁹ And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.

LSG ²⁹ Et vous, leur demanda-t-il, qui dites-vous que je suis ? Pierre lui répondit: Tu es le Christ.

KJV ³⁰ And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.

LSG ³⁰ Jésus leur recommanda sévèrement de ne dire cela de lui à personne.

KJV ³¹ And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

LSG ³¹ Alors il commença à leur apprendre qu'il fallait que le Fils de l'homme souffrît beaucoup, qu'il fût rejeté par les anciens, par les principaux sacrificateurs et par les scribes, qu'il fût mis à mort, et qu'il ressuscitât trois jours après.

KJV ³² And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.

LSG ³² Il leur disait ces choses ouvertement. Et Pierre, l'ayant pris à part, se mit à le reprendre.

KJV ³³ But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

LSG ³³ Mais Jésus, se retournant et regardant ses disciples, réprimanda Pierre, et dit: Arrière de moi, Satan ! car tu ne conçois pas les choses de Dieu, tu n'as que des pensées humaines.

KJV ³⁴ And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

LSG ³⁴ Puis, ayant appelé la foule avec ses disciples, il leur dit: Si quelqu'un veut venir après moi, qu'il renonce à lui-même, qu'il se charge de sa croix, et qu'il me suive.

KJV ³⁵ For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

LSG ³⁵ Car celui qui voudra sauver sa vie la perdra, mais celui qui perdra sa vie à cause de moi et de la bonne nouvelle la sauvera.

KJV ³⁶ For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

LSG ³⁶ Et que sert-il à un homme de gagner tout le monde, s'il perd son âme ?

KJV ³⁷ Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

LSG ³⁷ Que donnerait un homme en échange de son âme ?

KJV ³⁸ Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

LSG ³⁸ Car quiconque aura honte de moi et de mes paroles au milieu de cette génération adultère et pécheresse, le Fils de l'homme aura aussi honte de lui, quand il viendra dans la gloire de son Père, avec les saints anges.
