BAN ⁵ Ce sont ces douze que Jésus envoya, après leur avoir donné ses ordres, en disant : N'allez point vers les païens et n'entrez pas dans une ville des Samaritains ;

KJV ⁵ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

BAN ⁶ mais allez plutôt vers les brebis perdues de la maison d'Israël.

KJV ⁶ But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

BAN ⁷ Et quand vous serez en route, prêchez, disant : Le royaume des cieux s'est approché.

KJV ⁷ And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

BAN ⁸ Guérissez les malades, ressuscitez les morts, purifiez les lépreux, chassez les démons. Vous avez reçu gratuitement, donnez gratuitement.

KJV ⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

BAN ⁹ Ne vous procurez ni or, ni argent, ni cuivre dans vos ceintures,

KJV ⁹ Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

BAN ¹⁰ ni sac pour le chemin, ni deux tuniques, ni chaussures, ni bâton ; car l'ouvrier est digne de sa nourriture.

KJV ¹⁰ Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

BAN ¹¹ Mais dans quelque ville ou village que vous entriez, informez-vous qui y est digne, et demeurez là jusqu'à ce que vous partiez.

KJV ¹¹ And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

BAN ¹² Et en entrant dans la maison, saluez-la.

KJV ¹² And when ye come into an house, salute it.

BAN ¹³ Et si la maison est digne, que votre paix vienne sur elle ; mais si elle n'est pas digne, que votre paix retourne à vous.

KJV ¹³ And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

BAN ¹⁴ Et lorsqu'on ne vous recevra pas et n'écoutera pas vos paroles, en sortant de cette maison ou de cette ville, secouez la poussière de vos pieds.

KJV ¹⁴ And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

BAN ¹⁵ En vérité, je vous le dis, le sort du pays de Sodome et de Gomorrhe sera plus supportable, au jour du jugement, que celui de cette ville-là.

KJV ¹⁵ Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

BAN ¹⁶ Voici, je vous envoie comme des brebis au milieu des loups ; soyez donc prudents comme les serpents et simples comme les colombes.

KJV ¹⁶ Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

BAN ¹⁷ Et soyez en garde contre les hommes ; car ils vous livreront aux tribunaux et ils vous flagelleront dans leurs synagogues ;

KJV ¹⁷ But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

BAN ¹⁸ et vous serez menés même devant des gouverneurs et des rois, à cause de moi, pour leur être en témoignage, à eux et aux païens.

KJV ¹⁸ And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

BAN ¹⁹ Mais quand ils vous livreront, ne soyez point en souci de la manière dont vous parlerez ou de ce que vous direz ; car ce que vous aurez à dire vous sera donné à l'heure même,

KJV ¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

BAN ²⁰ car ce n'est pas vous qui parlez ; mais c'est l'Esprit de votre Père qui parle en vous.

KJV ²⁰ For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

BAN ²¹ Or un frère livrera son frère à la mort, et un père son enfant, et les enfants se soulèveront contre leurs parents et les feront mourir ;

KJV ²¹ And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

BAN ²² et vous serez haïs de tous à cause de mon nom ; mais celui qui aura persévéré jusqu'à la fin, celui-là sera sauvé.

KJV ²² And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

BAN ²³ Or, quand ils vous persécuteront dans une ville, fuyez dans une autre ; car en vérité je vous le dis, vous n'aurez pas achevé de parcourir les villes d'Israël que le fils de l'homme sera venu.

KJV ²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

BAN ²⁴ Un disciple n'est pas au-dessus du maître, ni un serviteur au-dessus de son seigneur.

KJV ²⁴ The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

BAN ²⁵ Il suffit au disciple d'être comme son maître, et au serviteur d'être comme son seigneur. S'ils ont nommé le maître de la maison Béelzébul, combien plus les gens de sa maison ?

KJV ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

BAN ²⁶ Ne les craignez donc point ; car il n'y a rien de couvert qui ne doive être découvert, ni rien de caché qui ne doive être connu.

KJV ²⁶ Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

BAN ²⁷ Ce que je vous dis dans les ténèbres, dites-le dans la lumière ; et ce qui vous est dit à l'oreille, prêchez-le sur les maisons.

KJV ²⁷ What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

BAN ²⁸ Et ne craignez pas ceux qui tuent le corps et qui ne peuvent tuer l'âme ; mais craignez plutôt celui qui peut perdre et l'âme et le corps dans la géhenne.

KJV ²⁸ And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

BAN ²⁹ Deux petits passereaux ne se vendent-ils pas pour un sou ? et pas un d'eux ne tombera en terre sans votre Père.

KJV ²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

BAN ³⁰ Et pour vous, les cheveux mêmes de votre tête sont tous comptés.

KJV ³⁰ But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

BAN ³¹ Ne craignez donc point ; vous valez mieux que beaucoup de passereaux.

KJV ³¹ Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

BAN ³² Tout homme donc qui me confessera devant les hommes, je le confesserai, moi aussi, devant mon Père qui est aux cieux.

KJV ³² Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

BAN ³³ Mais quiconque me reniera devant les hommes, je le renierai, moi aussi, devant mon Père qui est aux cieux.

KJV ³³ But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

BAN ³⁴ Ne pensez pas que je sois venu apporter la paix sur la terre ; je ne suis pas venu apporter la paix, mais l'épée.

KJV ³⁴ Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

BAN ³⁵ Car je suis venu mettre la division entre un homme et son père, entre une fille et sa mère, entre une belle-fille et sa belle-mère ;

KJV ³⁵ For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

BAN ³⁶ et un homme aura pour ennemis les gens de sa maison.

KJV ³⁶ And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

BAN ³⁷ Celui qui aime père ou mère plus que moi, n'est pas digne de moi ; et celui qui aime fils ou fille plus que moi, n'est pas digne de moi.

KJV ³⁷ He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

BAN ³⁸ Et celui qui ne prend pas sa croix et ne me suit pas, n'est pas digne de moi.

KJV ³⁸ And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

BAN ³⁹ Celui qui aura trouvé sa vie, la perdra ; et celui qui aura perdu sa vie à cause de moi, la trouvera.

KJV ³⁹ He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

BAN ⁴⁰ Celui qui vous reçoit me reçoit, et celui qui me reçoit, reçoit celui qui m'a envoyé.

KJV ⁴⁰ He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

BAN ⁴¹ Celui qui reçoit un prophète, en qualité de prophète, recevra une récompense de prophète, et celui qui reçoit un juste, en qualité de juste, recevra une récompense de juste.

KJV ⁴¹ He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

BAN ⁴² Et quiconque aura donné à boire seulement un verre d'eau froide à l'un de ces petits, en qualité de disciple, je vous dis en vérité qu'il ne perdra point sa récompense.

KJV ⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

BAN ¹ Et il arriva, quand Jésus eut achevé de donner ses ordres à ses douze disciples, qu'il partit de là pour enseigner et prêcher dans leurs villes.

KJV ¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

BAN ² Or Jean, ayant ouï parler dans la prison des oeuvres du Christ, lui envoya dire par ses disciples :

KJV ³ And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

BAN ⁴ Et Jésus répondant leur dit : Allez et rapportez à Jean ce que vous entendez et voyez :

KJV ⁴ Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

BAN ⁵ Les aveugles recouvrent la vue et les boiteux marchent, les lépreux sont purifiés et les sourds entendent, les morts ressuscitent et l'Evangile est annoncé aux pauvres.

KJV ⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

BAN ⁶ Et heureux est celui pour qui je ne serai pas une occasion de chute !

KJV ⁶ And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

BAN ⁷ Or, comme ils s'en allaient, Jésus se mit à dire aux foules au sujet de Jean : Qu'êtes-vous allés voir au désert ? Un roseau agité par le vent ?

KJV ⁷ And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

BAN ⁸ Mais qu'êtes-vous allés voir ? Un homme vêtu de vêtements délicats ? Voilà, ceux qui portent des vêtements délicats sont dans les maisons des rois.

KJV ⁸ But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.

BAN ⁹ Mais qu'êtes-vous allés voir ? Un prophète ? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu'un prophète.

KJV ⁹ But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

BAN ¹⁰ C'est celui-ci de qui il est écrit : Voici, j'envoie mon messager devant ta face qui préparera ton chemin devant toi.

KJV ¹⁰ For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

BAN ¹¹ En vérité, je vous le dis, entre ceux qui il sont nés de femme, il n'en a point été suscité de plus grand que Jean-Baptiste ; mais celui qui est plus petit dans le royaume des cieux est plus grand que lui.

KJV ¹¹ Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

BAN ¹² Or, depuis les jours de Jean-Baptiste jusqu'à maintenant, le royaume des cieux est pris par la violence, et ce sont des violents qui le ravissent.

KJV ¹² And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

KJV ¹³ For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

BAN ¹⁴ et si vous voulez recevoir ceci, il est cet Elie qui doit venir.

KJV ¹⁵ He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

BAN ¹⁶ Mais à qui comparerai-je cette génération ? Elle ressemble à des enfants assis dans les places publiques, qui crient aux autres,

KJV ¹⁶ But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

BAN ¹⁷ et leur disent : Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n'avez point dansé ; nous avons chanté des complaintes, et vous ne vous êtes point lamentés.

KJV ¹⁷ And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

BAN ¹⁸ Car Jean est venu ne mangeant ni ne buvant ; et ils disent : Il a un démon.

KJV ¹⁸ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

BAN ¹⁹ Le Fils de l'homme est venu mangeant et buvant, et ils disent : Voici un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des péagers et des pécheurs. Mais la sagesse a été justifiée de la part de ses enfants.

KJV ¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

BAN ²⁰ Alors il commença à faire des reproches aux villes dans lesquelles avaient eu lieu la plupart de ses miracles, parce qu'elles ne s'étaient point repenties.

KJV ²⁰ Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

BAN ²¹ Malheur à toi, Corazin ! malheur à toi, Bethsaïda ! car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous avaient été faits à Tyr et à Sidon, il y a longtemps qu'elles se seraient repenties avec le sac et la cendre.

KJV ²¹ Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

BAN ²² C'est pourquoi je vous le dis : Tyr et Sidon seront au jour du jugement dans une condition plus supportable que vous.

KJV ²² But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

BAN ²³ Et toi, Capernaüm, qui as été élevée jusqu'au ciel, tu seras abaissée jusqu'au séjour des morts ; car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de toi eussent été faits à Sodome, elle subsisterait encore aujourd'hui.

KJV ²³ And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

BAN ²⁴ C'est pourquoi je vous dis que la terre de Sodome sera au jour du jugement dans une condition plus supportable que toi.

KJV ²⁴ But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

BAN ²⁵ En ce temps-là, Jésus prenant la parole dit : Je te loue, ô Père ! Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, de ce que tu as caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et de ce que tu les as révélées aux enfants.

KJV ²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

BAN ²⁷ Toutes choses m'ont été livrées par mon Père ; et nul ne connaît le Fils, si ce n'est le Père, et nul ne connaît le Père, si ce n'est le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler.

KJV ²⁷ All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

BAN ²⁸ Venez à moi, vous tous qui êtes fatigués et chargés, et moi je vous soulagerai.

KJV ²⁸ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

BAN ²⁹ Chargez-vous de mon joug, et apprenez de moi, parce que je suis doux et humble de coeur, et vous trouverez du repos pour vos âmes ;

KJV ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

BAN ³⁰ car mon joug est doux et mon fardeau est léger.

KJV ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

BAN ¹ En ce temps-là, Jésus passa par les blés un jour de sabbat ; or ses disciples eurent faim ; et ils se mirent à arracher des épis et à manger.

KJV ¹ At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.

BAN ² Or les pharisiens, voyant cela, lui dirent : Voici, tes disciples font ce qu'il n'est pas permis de faire le jour du sabbat.

KJV ² But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

BAN ³ Mais il leur dit : N'avez-vous pas lu ce que fit David quand il eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui :

KJV ³ But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

BAN ⁴ comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, et mangea les pains de proposition, qu'il ne lui était pas permis de manger, non plus qu'à ceux qui étaient avec lui, mais aux seuls sacrificateurs ?

KJV ⁴ How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

BAN ⁵ N'avez-vous pas lu dans la loi que les jours de sabbat les sacrificateurs violent le sabbat dans le temple, et ne sont point coupables ?

KJV ⁵ Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

BAN ⁶ Or je vous dis qu'il y a ici quelque chose de plus grand que le temple.

KJV ⁶ But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

BAN ⁷ Et si vous saviez ce que signifie : Je veux la miséricorde et non le sacrifice, vous n'auriez pas condamné ceux qui ne sont point coupables.

KJV ⁷ But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

BAN ⁸ Car le fils de l'homme est maître du sabbat.

KJV ⁸ For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

BAN ⁹ Et étant parti de là, il vint dans leur synagogue.

KJV ⁹ And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

BAN ¹⁰ Et voici, il s'y trouvait un homme qui avait une main sèche. Et ils l'interrogèrent disant : Est-il permis de guérir dans les jours de sabbat ? C'était afin de pouvoir l'accuser.

KJV ¹⁰ And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

BAN ¹¹ Mais lui leur dit : Quel sera l'homme d'entre vous qui aura une seule brebis, et qui, si elle tombe dans une fosse le jour du sabbat, ne la saisira et ne l'en retirera pas ?

KJV ¹¹ And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

BAN ¹² Or, combien un homme ne vaut-il pas plus qu'une brebis ? Il est donc permis de faire du bien les jours de sabbat.

KJV ¹² How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

BAN ¹³ Alors il dit à l'homme : Etends ta main. Et il l'étendit ; et elle fut rendue saine comme l'autre.

KJV ¹³ Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

BAN ¹⁴ Et les pharisiens étant sortis, tinrent conseil contre lui, afin de le faire périr.

KJV ¹⁴ Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

BAN ¹⁵ Mais Jésus, l'ayant su, se retira de là. Et beaucoup de gens le suivirent, et il les guérit tous ;

KJV ¹⁵ But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

BAN ¹⁶ et il leur défendit avec menaces de le faire connaître ;

KJV ¹⁶ And charged them that they should not make him known:

BAN ¹⁷ afin que fût accompli ce qui avait été dit par Esaïe le prophète, disant :

KJV ¹⁷ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

BAN ¹⁸ Voici mon serviteur, que j'ai élu, mon bien-aimé, en qui mon âme a pris plaisir. Je mettrai mon Esprit sur lui, et il annoncera le jugement aux nations.

KJV ¹⁸ Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

BAN ¹⁹ Il ne contestera point, et ne criera point, et l'on n'entendra point sa voix dans les rues.

KJV ¹⁹ He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

BAN ²⁰ Il ne brisera point le roseau froissé, et il n'éteindra point le lumignon fumant, jusqu'à ce qu'il ait fait triompher le jugement ;

KJV ²⁰ A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

BAN ²¹ et les nations espéreront en son nom.

KJV ²¹ And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

BAN ²² Alors lui fut amené un démoniaque aveugle et muet ; et il le guérit ; de sorte que l'aveugle et muet parlait et voyait.

KJV ²² Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

BAN ²³ Et toute la foule fut stupéfaite, et elle disait : Celui-ci serait-il le fils de David ?

KJV ²³ And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

BAN ²⁴ Mais les pharisiens, entendant cela, dirent : Celui-ci ne chasse les démons que par Béelzébul, le prince des démons.

KJV ²⁵ And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

BAN ²⁶ Et si Satan chasse Satan, il est divisé contre lui-même. Comment donc son royaume subsistera-t-il ?

KJV ²⁶ And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

BAN ²⁷ Et si c'est par Béelzébul que moi je chasse les démons, vos fils, par qui les chassent-ils ? C'est pourquoi ils seront eux-mêmes vos juges.

KJV ²⁷ And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

BAN ²⁸ Mais si c'est par l'Esprit de Dieu que moi je chasse les démons, le royaume de Dieu est donc parvenu jusqu'à vous.

KJV ²⁸ But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

BAN ²⁹ Ou comment quelqu'un peut-il entrer dans la maison de l'homme fort et piller son bien, s'il n'a auparavant lié l'homme fort ; et alors il pillera sa maison ?

KJV ²⁹ Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

BAN ³⁰ Celui qui n'est pas avec moi est contre moi, et celui qui n'assemble pas avec moi disperse.

KJV ³⁰ He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

BAN ³¹ C'est pourquoi je vous dis : Tout péché et tout blasphème sera pardonné aux hommes ; mais le blasphème contre l'Esprit ne sera point pardonné aux hommes.

KJV ³¹ Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

BAN ³² Et si quelqu'un dit une parole contre le fils de l'homme, il lui sera pardonné ; mais si quelqu'un parle contre l'Esprit-Saint, il ne lui sera point pardonné ni dans ce siècle, ni dans celui qui est à venir.

KJV ³² And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

KJV ³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

BAN ³⁵ L'homme bon tire les bonnes choses du bon trésor ; et l'homme mauvais tire de mauvaises choses du mauvais trésor.

KJV ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

BAN ³⁶ Or je vous dis que toute parole oiseuse que les hommes auront prononcée, ils en rendront compte au jour du jugement ;

KJV ³⁶ But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

BAN ³⁷ car par tes paroles tu seras justifié, et par tes paroles tu seras condamné.

KJV ³⁷ For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

BAN ³⁸ Alors quelques-uns des scribes et des pharisiens lui répondirent, disant : Maître, nous voulons voir un signe de toi.

KJV ³⁸ Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

BAN ³⁹ Mais lui, répondant, leur dit : Une génération méchante et adultère recherche un signe ; mais il ne lui sera point donné de signe, si ce n'est le signe de Jonas le prophète.

KJV ³⁹ But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

BAN ⁴⁰ Car, comme Jonas fut dans le ventre du grand poisson trois jours et trois nuits, ainsi le fils de l'homme sera dans le sein de la terre trois jours et trois nuits.

KJV ⁴⁰ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

BAN ⁴¹ Les hommes de Ninive se lèveront au jour du jugement avec cette génération, et la condamneront ; parce qu'ils se repentirent à la prédication de Jonas ; et voici, il y a ici plus que Jonas.

KJV ⁴¹ The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

BAN ⁴² La reine du midi se lèvera au jour du jugement avec cette génération, et la condamnera ; car elle vint des extrémités de la terre pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon ; et voici, il y a ici plus que Salomon.

KJV ⁴² The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

BAN ⁴³ Or, lorsque l'esprit impur est sorti de l'homme, il parcourt des lieux arides, cherchant du repos, et il n'en trouve point.

KJV ⁴³ When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

BAN ⁴⁴ Alors il dit : Je retournerai dans ma maison, d'où je suis sorti ; et étant venu, il la trouve vide, balayée et ornée.

KJV ⁴⁴ Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

BAN ⁴⁵ Alors il s'en va, et prend avec lui sept autres esprits plus méchants que lui, et étant entrés, ils habitent là ; et la dernière condition de cet homme-là est pire que la première. Il en sera de même aussi pour cette méchante génération.

KJV ⁴⁵ Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

BAN ⁴⁹ ? Et étendant sa main sur ses disciples, il dit : Voici ma mère et mes frères.

KJV ⁴⁹ And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

BAN ⁵⁰ Car quiconque fera la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les cieux, celui-là est mon frère, et ma soeur, et ma mère.

KJV ⁵⁰ For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

KJV ⁴ And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

BAN ⁵ Une autre tomba sur des endroits rocailleux, où elle n'avait pas beaucoup de terre, et aussitôt elle leva, parce qu'elle n'avait pas une terre profonde.

KJV ⁵ Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

BAN ⁶ Mais le soleil s'étant levé, elle fut brûlée, et parce qu'elle n'avait pas de racine, elle sécha.

KJV ⁶ And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

BAN ⁷ Une autre tomba parmi les épines, et les épines montèrent et l'étouffèrent.

KJV ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

BAN ⁸ Et une autre tomba dans la bonne terre, et donna du fruit ; un grain cent, un autre soixante, et un autre trente.

KJV ⁸ But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

KJV ⁹ Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

KJV ¹⁰ And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

BAN ¹¹ Et, répondant, il leur dit : Parce qu'il vous a été donné de connaître les mystères du royaume des cieux ; mais à eux, cela ne leur a pas été donné.

KJV ¹¹ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

BAN ¹² Car à celui qui a, il sera donné, et il aura en abondance ; mais pour celui qui n'a pas, cela même qu'il a lui sera ôté.

KJV ¹² For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

KJV ¹⁵ For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

KJV ¹⁹ When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

BAN ²⁰ Et celui qui a reçu la semence dans des endroits rocailleux, c'est celui qui entendant la parole, et la recevant aussitôt avec joie,

KJV ²⁰ But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

BAN ²¹ n'a cependant point de racine en lui-même, mais n'est que pour un temps ; et lorsque l'affliction ou la persécution survient à cause de la parole, il y trouve aussitôt une occasion de chute.

KJV ²¹ Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

BAN ²² Et celui qui a reçu la semence parmi les épines, c'est celui qui entend la parole ; mais les soucis du siècle et la séduction des richesses étouffent la parole ; et elle devient infructueuse.

KJV ²² He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

KJV ²⁵ But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

BAN ²⁶ Or quand l'herbe eut poussé et eut produit du fruit, alors l'ivraie parut aussi.

KJV ²⁶ But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

BAN ²⁷ Et les serviteurs du maître de la maison vinrent à lui et lui dirent : Seigneur, n'as-tu pas semé de bonne semence dans ton champ ? D'où vient donc qu'il porte de l'ivraie ?

KJV ²⁷ So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

BAN ²⁸ Et il leur répondit : C'est un ennemi qui a fait cela. Et les serviteurs lui dirent : Veux-tu donc que nous allions la cueillir ?

KJV ²⁸ He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

BAN ²⁹ Mais il dit : Non, de peur qu'en cueillant l'ivraie, vous ne déraciniez le blé en même temps.

KJV ²⁹ But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

BAN ³⁰ Laissez-les croître tous deux ensemble jusqu'à la moisson ; et au temps de la moisson, je dirai aux moissonneurs : Cueillez premièrement l'ivraie, et liez-la en gerbes pour la brûler ; mais, quant au blé, amassez-le dans mon grenier.

KJV ³⁰ Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

BAN ³² C'est bien la plus petite de toutes les semences, mais quand il a crû, il est plus grand que les légumes et devient un arbre, tellement que les oiseaux du ciel viennent et s'abritent dans ses branches.

KJV ³² Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

BAN ³³ Il leur dit une autre parabole : Le royaume des cieux est semblable à du levain, qu'une femme a pris et caché parmi trois mesures de farine, jusqu'à ce que tout fût levé.

KJV ³³ Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

KJV ³⁴ All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

KJV ³⁵ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

KJV ³⁶ Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

BAN ³⁷ Il répondit et dit : Celui qui sème la bonne semence, c'est le fils de l'homme.

KJV ³⁷ He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

BAN ³⁸ Le champ, c'est le monde. La bonne semence, ce sont les fils du royaume. L'ivraie, ce sont les fils du malin.

KJV ³⁸ The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

BAN ³⁹ L'ennemi qui l'a semée, c'est le diable. La moisson, c'est la consommation du temps ; et les moissonneurs sont les anges.

KJV ³⁹ The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

BAN ⁴⁰ Comme donc on arrache l'ivraie, et qu'on la brûle dans le feu, il en sera de même à la consommation du temps.

KJV ⁴⁰ As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

BAN ⁴¹ Le fils de l'homme enverra ses anges, qui arracheront de son royaume tous les scandales, et ceux qui font l'iniquité.

KJV ⁴¹ The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

BAN ⁴² Et ils les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu ; là seront les pleurs et le grincement des dents.

KJV ⁴² And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

BAN ⁴³ Alors les justes resplendiront comme le soleil dans le royaume de leur Père. Que celui qui a des oreilles entende !

KJV ⁴³ Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

BAN ⁴⁴ Le royaume des cieux est encore semblable à un trésor caché dans un champ, qu'un homme a trouvé, et qu'il a caché ; et de la joie qu'il en a, il s'en va, et vend tout ce qu'il a, et achète ce champ.

KJV ⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

KJV ⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

KJV ⁴⁶ Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

KJV ⁴⁷ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

BAN ⁴⁸ et quand il fut rempli, les pêcheurs le tirèrent sur le rivage ; et s'étant assis, ils recueillirent dans des vases ce qui était bon, et jetèrent dehors ce qui était mauvais.

KJV ⁴⁸ Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

KJV ⁴⁹ So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

BAN ⁵⁰ et ils les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu ; là seront les pleurs et le grincement des dents.

KJV ⁵⁰ And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

BAN ⁵¹ Avez-vous compris toutes ces choses ? Ils lui répondirent : Oui.

KJV ⁵¹ Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

BAN ⁵² Et il leur dit : C'est pourquoi tout scribe qui a été instruit pour le royaume des cieux est semblable à un maître de maison qui tire de son trésor des choses nouvelles et des choses anciennes.

KJV ⁵² Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

KJV ⁵³ And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

BAN ⁵⁴ Et étant venu dans sa patrie, il les enseignait dans leur synagogue ; de sorte qu'ils étaient frappés d'étonnement, et qu'ils disaient : D'où viennent à celui-ci cette sagesse et ces miracles ?

KJV ⁵⁴ And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

BAN ⁵⁵ Celui-ci n'est-il pas le fils du charpentier ? Sa mère ne s'appelle-t-elle pas Marie, et ses frères, Jacques et Joseph et Simon et Jude ?

KJV ⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

BAN ⁵⁶ Et ses soeurs ne sont-elles pas toutes parmi nous ? D'où lui viennent donc toutes ces choses ?

KJV ⁵⁶ And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

BAN ⁵⁷ Et il était pour eux une occasion de chute. Mais Jésus leur dit : Un prophète n'est méprisé que dans son pays et dans sa maison.

KJV ⁵⁷ And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

BAN ⁵⁸ Et il ne fit pas là beaucoup de miracles, à cause de leur incrédulité.

KJV ⁵⁸ And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

BAN ³ Car Hérode, ayant fait arrêter Jean, l'avait fait lier et mettre en prison, à cause d'Hérodias, la femme de Philippe, son frère ;

KJV ³ For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.

BAN ⁴ car Jean lui disait : Il ne t'est pas permis de l'avoir.

KJV ⁴ For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

BAN ⁵ Et voulant le faire mourir, il craignait la foule, parce qu'on le regardait comme un prophète.

KJV ⁵ And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

BAN ⁶ Mais comme on célébrait le jour de la naissance d'Hérode, la fille d'Hérodias dansa au milieu de l'assemblée, et plut à Hérode ;

KJV ⁶ But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

BAN ⁷ de sorte qu'il promit avec serment de lui donner ce qu'elle demanderait.

KJV ⁷ Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

BAN ⁸ Elle donc, poussée par sa mère : Donne-moi, dit-elle, ici, sur un plat, la tête de Jean-Baptiste.

KJV ⁸ And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.

BAN ⁹ Et le roi fut attristé, mais à cause de ses serments et des convives, il commanda qu'on la lui donnât,

KJV ⁹ And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

BAN ¹⁰ et il envoya décapiter Jean dans la prison.

KJV ¹⁰ And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

BAN ¹¹ Et sa tête fut apportée sur un plat, et donnée à la jeune fille, et elle la porta à sa mère.

KJV ¹¹ And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.

BAN ¹² Et ses disciples vinrent et emportèrent le corps, et l'ensevelirent ; et ils vinrent l'annoncer à Jésus.

KJV ¹² And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

BAN ¹³ Mais Jésus l'ayant appris, se retira de là sur une barque en un lieu désert, à l'écart. Et les foules l'ayant su, le suivirent à pied, de diverses villes.

KJV ¹³ When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

BAN ¹⁴ Et étant sorti, il vit une grande multitude ; et il fut ému de compassion envers eux, et il guérit leurs malades.

KJV ¹⁴ And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

BAN ¹⁵ Mais le soir étant venu, les disciples s'approchèrent de lui, disant : Ce lieu est désert, et l'heure est déjà passée ; renvoie donc les foules, afin qu'elles s'en aillent dans les bourgades, et qu'elles achètent des vivres.

KJV ¹⁵ And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

BAN ¹⁶ Mais Jésus leur dit : Elles n'ont pas besoin de s'en aller ; donnez-leur vous-mêmes à manger.

KJV ¹⁶ But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

BAN ¹⁷ Et ils lui disent : Nous n'avons ici que cinq pains et deux poissons.

KJV ¹⁷ And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

BAN ¹⁸ Et il dit : Apportez-les-moi ici.

KJV ¹⁸ He said, Bring them hither to me.

BAN ¹⁹ Et après avoir commandé aux foules de s'asseoir sur l'herbe, il prit les cinq pains et les deux poissons, et levant les yeux au ciel, il prononça la bénédiction. Puis ayant rompu les pains, il les donna aux disciples, et les disciples les donnèrent à la foule.

KJV ¹⁹ And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

BAN ²⁰ Et tous mangèrent, et furent rassasiés ; et on emporta douze paniers pleins des morceaux qui restaient.

KJV ²⁰ And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
