KJV ¹⁵ Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

KJV ¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

KJV ²⁰ For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

KJV ²¹ And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

KJV ²² And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

KJV ²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

KJV ²⁴ The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

KJV ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

KJV ³⁵ For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

KJV ³⁶ And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

KJV ¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

KJV ⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

KJV ⁶ And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

KJV ⁷ And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

KJV ⁹ But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

KJV ¹⁰ For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

KJV ¹¹ Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

KJV ¹² And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

KJV ¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

KJV ²⁰ Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

KJV ²¹ Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

MAR ²¹ Malheur à toi, Corazin ! malheur à toi, Bethsaïda ! car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous, eussent été faits dans Tyr et dans Sidon, il y a longtemps qu'elles se seraient repenties avec le sac et la cendre.

KJV ²² But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

MAR ²² C'est pourquoi je vous dis que Tyr et Sidon seront traitées moins rigoureusement que vous, au jour du jugement.

KJV ²³ And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

MAR ²³ Et toi Capernaüm, qui as été élevée jusques au ciel, tu seras abaissée jusque dans l'enfer ; car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de toi, eussent été faits dans Sodome, elle subsisterait encore.

KJV ²⁴ But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

KJV ²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

KJV ²⁷ All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

KJV ²⁸ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

KJV ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

MAR ²⁹ Chargez mon joug sur vous, et apprenez de moi parce que je suis doux et humble de coeur ; et vous trouverez le repos de vos âmes.

KJV ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

KJV ¹ At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.

KJV ² But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

KJV ³ But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

MAR ³ Mais il leur dit : n'avez-vous point lu ce que fit David quand il eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui ?

KJV ⁴ How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

MAR ⁴ Comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, et mangea les pains de proposition, lesquels il ne lui était pas permis de manger, ni à ceux qui étaient avec lui, mais aux Sacrificateurs seulement ?

KJV ⁵ Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

MAR ⁵ Ou n'avez-vous point lu dans la Loi, qu'aux jours du Sabbat les Sacrificateurs violent le Sabbat dans le Temple, et ils n'en sont point coupables ?

KJV ⁶ But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

MAR ⁶ Or je vous dis, qu'il y a ici [quelqu'un qui est] plus grand que le Temple.

KJV ⁷ But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

MAR ⁷ Mais si vous saviez ce que signifient ces paroles : je veux miséricorde, et non pas sacrifice, vous n'auriez pas condamné ceux qui ne sont point coupables.

KJV ⁸ For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

KJV ⁹ And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

KJV ¹⁰ And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

MAR ¹⁰ Et voici, il y avait là un homme qui avait une main sèche, et pour [avoir sujet de] l'accuser ils l'interrogèrent, en disant : est-il permis de guérir aux jours du Sabbat ?

KJV ¹¹ And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

MAR ¹¹ Et il leur dit : qui sera celui d'entre vous s'il a une brebis, et qu'elle vienne à tomber dans une fosse le jour du Sabbat, qui ne la prenne, et ne la relève ?

KJV ¹² How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

MAR ¹² Or combien vaut mieux un homme qu'une brebis ? il est donc permis de faire du bien les jours du Sabbat.

KJV ¹³ Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

KJV ¹⁴ Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

MAR ¹⁴ Or les Pharisiens étant sortis consultèrent contre lui comment ils feraient pour le perdre.

KJV ¹⁵ But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

MAR ¹⁵ Mais Jésus connaissant cela, partit de là, et de grandes troupes le suivirent, et il les guérit tous.

KJV ¹⁶ And charged them that they should not make him known:

MAR ¹⁶ Et il leur défendit avec menaces de le donner à connaître ;

KJV ¹⁷ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

KJV ²⁰ A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

KJV ²¹ And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

KJV ²² Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

KJV ²³ And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

KJV ²⁵ And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

MAR ²⁵ Mais Jésus connaissant leurs pensées, leur dit : tout Royaume divisé contre soi-même sera réduit en désert ; et toute ville, ou maison, divisée contre soi-même ne subsistera point.

KJV ²⁶ And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

MAR ²⁶ Or si Satan jette Satan dehors, il est divisé contre soi-même ; comment donc son Royaume subsistera-t-il ?

KJV ²⁷ And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

MAR ²⁷ Et si je chasse les démons par Béelzébul, par qui vos fils les chassent-ils ? c'est pourquoi ils seront eux-mêmes vos juges.

KJV ²⁸ But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

MAR ²⁸ Mais si je chasse les démons par l'Esprit de Dieu, certes le Royaume de Dieu est venu jusqu'à vous.

KJV ²⁹ Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

MAR ²⁹ Ou, comment quelqu'un pourra-t-il entrer dans la maison d'un homme fort, et piller son bien, si premièrement il n'a lié l'homme fort ? et alors il pillera sa maison.

KJV ³⁰ He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

MAR ³⁰ Celui qui n'est point avec moi, est contre moi ; et celui qui n'assemble point avec moi, il disperse.

KJV ³¹ Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

MAR ³¹ C'est pourquoi je vous dis, que tout péché et tout blasphème sera pardonné aux hommes ; mais le blasphème contre l'Esprit ne leur sera point pardonné.

KJV ³² And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

KJV ³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

KJV ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

KJV ³⁶ But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

MAR ³⁶ Or je vous dis, que les hommes rendront compte au jour du jugement, de toute parole oiseuse qu'ils auront dite.

KJV ³⁷ For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

KJV ³⁸ Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

KJV ³⁹ But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

KJV ⁴⁰ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

MAR ⁴⁰ Car comme Jonas fut dans le ventre de la baleine trois jours et trois nuits, ainsi le Fils de l'homme sera dans le sein de la terre trois jours et trois nuits.

KJV ⁴¹ The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

MAR ⁴¹ Les Ninivites se lèveront au [jour du] jugement contre cette nation, et la condamneront, parce qu'ils se sont repentis à la prédication de Jonas ; et voici, il y a ici plus que Jonas.

KJV ⁴² The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

KJV ⁴⁵ Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

KJV ⁴⁶ While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

KJV ⁴⁸ But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

MAR ⁴⁸ Mais il répondit à celui qui lui avait dit cela : qui est ma mère, et qui sont mes frères ?

KJV ⁴⁹ And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

MAR ⁴⁹ Et étendant sa main sur ses Disciples, il dit : voici ma mère et mes frères.

KJV ⁵⁰ For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

MAR ⁵⁰ Car quiconque fera la volonté de mon Père qui est aux cieux, celui-là est mon frère, et ma soeur, et ma mère.

KJV ¹ The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.

MAR ¹ Ce même jour-là Jésus étant sorti de la maison, s'assit près de la mer.

KJV ² And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

MAR ² Et de grandes troupes s'assemblèrent autour de lui, c'est pourquoi il monta dans une nacelle, et s'assit, et toute la multitude se tenait sur le rivage.

KJV ³ And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

MAR ³ Et il leur parla de plusieurs choses par des similitudes, en disant : voici, un semeur sortit pour semer.

KJV ⁴ And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

MAR ⁴ Et comme il semait, une partie de la semence tomba le long du chemin, et les oiseaux vinrent, et la mangèrent toute.

KJV ⁵ Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

MAR ⁵ Et une autre partie tomba dans des lieux pierreux, où elle n'avait guère de terre, et aussitôt elle leva, parce qu'elle n'entrait pas profondément dans la terre.

KJV ⁶ And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

MAR ⁶ Et le soleil s'étant levé, elle fut brûlée ; et parce qu'elle n'avait point de racine, elle sécha.

KJV ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

MAR ⁷ Et une autre partie tomba entre des épines ; et les épines montèrent, et l'étouffèrent.

KJV ⁸ But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

MAR ⁸ Et une autre partie tomba dans une bonne terre, et rendit du fruit, un grain [en rendit] cent, un autre, soixante, et un autre, trente.

KJV ⁹ Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

KJV ¹⁰ And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

MAR ¹⁰ Alors les Disciples s'approchant lui dirent : pourquoi leur parles-tu par des similitudes ?

KJV ¹¹ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

MAR ¹¹ Il répondit, et leur dit : c'est parce qu'il vous est donné de connaître les mystères du Royaume des cieux, et que, pour eux, il ne leur est point donné [de les connaître].

KJV ¹² For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

MAR ¹² Car à celui qui a, il sera donné, et il aura encore plus ; mais à celui qui n'a rien, cela même qu'il a lui sera ôté.

KJV ¹³ Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

MAR ¹³ C'est pourquoi je leur parle par des similitudes, à cause qu'en voyant ils ne voient point, et qu'en entendant ils n'entendent point, et ne comprennent point.

KJV ¹⁴ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

MAR ¹⁴ Et [ainsi] s'accomplit en eux la prophétie d'Esaïe, qui dit : en entendant vous ne comprendrez point ; et en voyant vous verrez, et vous n'apercevrez point.

KJV ¹⁵ For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

KJV ¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

MAR ¹⁶ Mais vos yeux sont bienheureux, car ils voient ; et, vos oreilles sont [bienheureuses], car elles entendent.

KJV ¹⁷ For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

KJV ¹⁹ When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

MAR ¹⁹ Quand un homme écoute la parole du Royaume, et ne la comprend point, le malin vient, et ravit ce qui est semé dans son coeur ; et c'est là celui qui a reçu la semence auprès du chemin.

KJV ²⁰ But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

MAR ²⁰ Et celui qui a reçu la semence dans des lieux pierreux, c'est celui qui écoute la parole, et qui la reçoit aussitôt avec joie ;

KJV ²¹ Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

MAR ²¹ Mais il n'a point de racine en lui-même, c'est pourquoi il n'est qu'à temps ; de sorte que dès que l'affliction ou la persécution survienne à cause de la parole, il est aussitôt scandalisé.

KJV ²² He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

MAR ²² Et celui qui a reçu la semence entre les épines, c'est celui qui écoute la parole de Dieu, mais l'inquiétude pour les choses de ce monde, et la tromperie des richesses étouffent la parole, et elle devient infructueuse.

KJV ²³ But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

KJV ²⁴ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

MAR ²⁴ Il leur proposa une autre similitude, en disant : le Royaume des cieux ressemble à un homme qui a semé de la bonne semence dans son champ.

KJV ²⁵ But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

MAR ²⁵ Mais pendant que les hommes dormaient, son ennemi est venu, qui a semé de l'ivraie parmi le blé, puis s'en est allé.

KJV ²⁶ But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

MAR ²⁶ Et après que la semence fut venue en herbe, et qu'elle eut porté du fruit, alors aussi parut l'ivraie.

KJV ²⁷ So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

MAR ²⁷ Et les serviteurs du père de famille vinrent à lui, et lui dirent : Seigneur, n'as-tu pas semé de la bonne semence dans ton champ ? d'où vient donc qu'il y a de l'ivraie ?

KJV ²⁸ He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

MAR ²⁸ Mais il leur dit : c'est l'ennemi qui a fait cela. Et les serviteurs lui dirent : veux-tu donc que nous y allions, et que nous cueillions l'ivraie ?

KJV ²⁹ But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

MAR ²⁹ Et il leur dit : non ; de peur qu'il n'arrive qu'en cueillant l'ivraie, vous n'arrachiez le blé en même temps.

KJV ³⁰ Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

MAR ³⁰ Laissez-les croître tous deux ensemble, jusqu'à la moisson ; et au temps de la moisson, je dirai aux moissonneurs : cueillez premièrement l'ivraie, et la liez en faisceaux pour la brûler ; mais assemblez le blé dans mon grenier.

KJV ³¹ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

KJV ³² Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

MAR ³² Qui est bien la plus petite de toutes les semences ; mais quand il est crû, il est plus grand que les autres plantes, et devient un arbre ; tellement que les oiseaux du ciel y viennent, et font leurs nids dans ses branches.

KJV ³³ Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

MAR ³³ Il leur dit une autre similitude : le Royaume des cieux est semblable au levain qu'une femme prend, et qu'elle met parmi trois mesures de farine, jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit toute levée.

KJV ³⁴ All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

MAR ³⁴ Jésus dit toutes ces choses aux troupes en similitudes, et il ne leur parlait point sans similitudes ;

KJV ³⁵ That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

MAR ³⁵ Afin que fût accompli ce dont il avait été parlé par le Prophète, en disant : j'ouvrirai ma bouche en similitudes ; je déclarerai les choses qui ont été cachées dès la fondation du monde.

KJV ³⁶ Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

MAR ³⁶ Alors Jésus ayant laissé les troupes, s'en alla à la maison, et ses Disciples vinrent à lui, et lui dirent : explique-nous la similitude de l'ivraie du champ.

KJV ³⁷ He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

MAR ³⁷ Et il leur répondit et dit : celui qui sème la bonne semence, c'est le Fils de l'homme ;

KJV ³⁸ The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

MAR ³⁸ Et le champ, c'est le monde ; la bonne semence ce sont les enfants du Royaume, et l'ivraie ce sont les enfants du malin ;

KJV ³⁹ The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

MAR ³⁹ Et l'ennemi qui l'a semée, c'est le diable ; la moisson, c'est la fin du monde, et les moissonneurs sont les Anges.

KJV ⁴⁰ As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

MAR ⁴⁰ Comme donc on cueille l'ivraie, et on la brûle au feu, il en sera de même à la fin de ce monde.

KJV ⁴¹ The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

MAR ⁴¹ Le Fils de l'homme enverra ses Anges, qui cueilleront de son Royaume tous les scandales, et ceux qui commettent l'iniquité ;

KJV ⁴² And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

MAR ⁴² Et les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu ; là il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents.

KJV ⁴³ Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

MAR ⁴³ Alors les justes reluiront comme le soleil dans le Royaume de leur Père. Qui a des oreilles pour ouïr, qu'il entende.

KJV ⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

MAR ⁴⁴ Le Royaume des cieux est encore semblable à un trésor caché dans un champ, lequel un homme ayant trouvé, l'a caché ; puis de la joie qu'il en a, il s'en va, et vend tout ce qu'il a, et achète ce champ.

KJV ⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

KJV ⁴⁶ Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

MAR ⁴⁶ Et qui ayant trouvé une perle de grand prix, s'en est allé, et a vendu tout ce qu'il avait, et l'a achetée.

KJV ⁴⁷ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

MAR ⁴⁷ Le Royaume des cieux est encore semblable à un filet jeté dans la mer, et amassant toutes sortes de choses ;

KJV ⁴⁸ Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.

MAR ⁴⁸ Lequel étant plein, les pêcheurs le tirent en haut sur le rivage, puis s'étant assis, ils mettent ce qu'il y a de bon à part dans leurs vaisseaux, et jettent dehors ce qui ne vaut rien.

KJV ⁴⁹ So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

MAR ⁴⁹ Il en sera de même à la fin du monde, les Anges viendront, et sépareront les méchants d'avec les justes ;

KJV ⁵⁰ And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

MAR ⁵⁰ Et les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu ; là il y aura des pleurs, et des grincements de dents.

KJV ⁵¹ Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

MAR ⁵¹ Jésus leur dit : avez-vous compris toutes ces choses ? Ils lui répondirent : oui, Seigneur.

KJV ⁵² Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

MAR ⁵² Et il leur dit : c'est pour cela que tout Scribe qui est bien instruit pour le Royaume des cieux, est semblable à un père de famille qui tire de son trésor des choses nouvelles, et des choses anciennes.

KJV ⁵³ And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

MAR ⁵³ Et quand Jésus eut achevé ces similitudes, il partit de là.

KJV ⁵⁴ And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

MAR ⁵⁴ Et étant venu en son pays, il les enseignait dans leur Synagogue, de telle sorte qu'ils en étaient étonnés, et disaient : d'où viennent à celui-ci cette science et ces vertus ?

KJV ⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

MAR ⁵⁵ Celui-ci n'est-il pas le fils du charpentier ? sa mère ne s'appelle-t-elle pas Marie ? et ses frères [ne s'appellent-ils pas] Jacques, Joses, Simon et Jude ?

KJV ⁵⁶ And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

MAR ⁵⁶ Et ses soeurs ne sont-elles pas toutes parmi nous ? D'où viennent donc à celui-ci toutes ces choses ?

KJV ⁵⁷ And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

MAR ⁵⁷ Tellement qu'ils étaient scandalisés en lui. Mais Jésus leur dit : un Prophète n'est sans honneur que dans son pays, et dans sa maison.

KJV ⁵⁸ And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

KJV ¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

MAR ¹ En ce temps-là Hérode le Tétrarque ouït la renommée de Jésus ;

KJV ² And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

MAR ² Et il dit à ses serviteurs : c'est Jean Baptiste ; il est ressuscité des morts, c'est pourquoi la vertu de faire des miracles agit puissamment en lui.

KJV ³ For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.

MAR ³ Car Hérode avait fait prendre Jean, et l'avait fait lier et mettre en prison, à cause d'Hérodias, femme de Philippe son frère.

KJV ⁴ For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.

MAR ⁴ Parce que Jean lui disait : il ne t'est pas permis de l'avoir pour femme.

KJV ⁵ And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

MAR ⁵ Et il eût bien voulu le faire mourir, mais il craignait le peuple, à cause qu'on tenait Jean pour Prophète.

KJV ⁶ But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

MAR ⁶ Or au jour du festin de la naissance d'Hérode, la fille d'Hérodias dansa en pleine salle, et plut à Hérode.

KJV ⁷ Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.

MAR ⁷ C'est pourquoi il lui promit avec serment de lui donner tout ce qu'elle demanderait.

KJV ⁸ And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.

MAR ⁸ Elle donc étant poussée auparavant par sa mère, lui dit : donne-moi ici dans un plat la tête de Jean Baptiste.

KJV ⁹ And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

MAR ⁹ Et le roi en fut marri ; mais à cause des serments, et de ceux qui étaient à table avec lui, il commanda qu'on la lui donnât.

KJV ¹⁰ And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

MAR ¹⁰ Et il envoya décapiter Jean dans la prison.

KJV ¹¹ And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.

MAR ¹¹ Et sa tête fut apportée dans un plat, et donnée à la fille, qui la présenta à sa mère.

KJV ¹² And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

MAR ¹² Puis ses disciples vinrent, et emportèrent son corps, et l'ensevelirent ; et ils vinrent l'annoncer à Jésus.

KJV ¹³ When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

MAR ¹³ Et Jésus l'ayant entendu se retira de là dans une nacelle, vers un lieu désert, pour y être en particulier ; ce que les troupes ayant appris, elles sortirent des villes [voisines], et le suivirent à pied.

KJV ¹⁴ And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

MAR ¹⁴ Et Jésus étant sorti vit une grande multitude, et il en fut ému de compassion, et guérit leurs malades.

KJV ¹⁵ And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

MAR ¹⁵ Et comme il se faisait tard, ses Disciples vinrent à lui, et lui dirent : ce lieu est désert, et l'heure est déjà passée ; donne congé à ces troupes, afin qu'elles s'en aillent aux bourgades, et qu'elles achètent des vivres.

KJV ¹⁶ But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

MAR ¹⁶ Mais Jésus leur dit : ils n'ont pas besoin de s'en aller ; donnez-leur vous-mêmes à manger.

KJV ¹⁷ And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

KJV ¹⁸ He said, Bring them hither to me.

KJV ¹⁹ And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

KJV ²⁰ And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
