KJV ⁴ And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

KJV ⁵ For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

KJV ⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

S21 ⁶ Jésus partit avec eux. Il n'était plus très loin de la maison quand l'officier envoya des amis [vers lui] pour lui dire: «Seigneur, ne prends pas tant de peine, car je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit.

KJV ⁷ Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

S21 ⁷ C'est aussi pour cela que je n'ai pas jugé bon d'aller en personne vers toi. Mais dis un mot et mon serviteur sera guéri.

KJV ⁸ For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

KJV ⁹ When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

KJV ¹⁴ And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

KJV ¹⁷ And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

KJV ²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

S21 ²¹ A ce moment-là, Jésus guérit de nombreuses personnes de maladies, d'infirmités et d'esprits mauvais et il rendit la vue à bien des aveugles.

KJV ²² Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

KJV ²⁴ And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

KJV ²⁵ But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

S21 ²⁵ Mais qu'êtes-vous allés voir? Un homme habillé de tenues élégantes? Ceux qui portent des tenues somptueuses et qui vivent dans le luxe se trouvent dans les maisons des rois.

KJV ²⁶ But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

KJV ²⁷ This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

KJV ²⁹ And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

KJV ³⁰ But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

KJV ³¹ And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

KJV ³² They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

KJV ³³ For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

KJV ³⁵ But wisdom is justified of all her children.

KJV ³⁶ And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

KJV ³⁸ And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

S21 ³⁸ et se tint derrière, aux pieds de Jésus. Elle pleurait, et bientôt elle lui mouilla les pieds de ses larmes, puis les essuya avec ses cheveux, les embrassa et versa le parfum sur eux.

KJV ³⁹ Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

«Maître, parle», répondit-il.

KJV ⁴¹ There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

S21 ⁴¹ «Un créancier avait deux débiteurs: l'un d'eux lui devait 500 pièces d'argent, et l'autre 50.

KJV ⁴² And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

S21 ⁴² Comme ils n'avaient pas de quoi le rembourser, il leur remit à tous deux leur dette. Lequel des deux l'aimera le plus?»

KJV ⁴³ Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

S21 ⁴³ Simon répondit: «Celui, je pense, auquel il a remis la plus grosse somme.»
Jésus lui dit: «Tu as bien jugé.»

KJV ⁴⁴ And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

S21 ⁴⁴ Puis il se tourna vers la femme et dit à Simon: «Tu vois cette femme? Je suis entré dans ta maison et tu ne m'as pas donné d'eau pour me laver les pieds; mais elle, elle les a mouillés de ses larmes et les a essuyés avec ses cheveux.

KJV ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

KJV ⁴⁶ My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

KJV ⁴⁷ Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

S21 ⁵ «Un semeur sortit pour semer sa semence. Comme il semait, une partie de la semence tomba le long du chemin; elle fut piétinée et les oiseaux du ciel la mangèrent.

KJV ⁶ And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

S21 ⁶ Une autre partie tomba sur un sol pierreux; quand elle eut poussé, elle sécha, parce qu'elle manquait d'humidité.

KJV ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

S21 ⁷ Une autre partie tomba au milieu des ronces; les ronces poussèrent avec elle et l'étouffèrent.

KJV ⁸ And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

S21 ⁸ Une autre partie tomba dans la bonne terre; quand elle eut poussé, elle produisit du fruit au centuple.» Après cela, Jésus dit à haute voix: «Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre entende.»

KJV ⁹ And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

KJV ¹⁰ And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

KJV ¹² Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

KJV ¹³ They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

KJV ¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

S21 ¹⁴ Ce qui est tombé parmi les ronces, ce sont ceux qui ont entendu la parole, mais en cours de route ils la laissent étouffer par les préoccupations, les richesses et les plaisirs de la vie, et ils ne parviennent pas à maturité.

KJV ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

KJV ¹⁶ No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

S21 ¹⁶ »Personne n'allume une lampe pour la couvrir d'un vase ou la mettre sous un lit, mais il la met sur un support, afin que ceux qui entrent voient la lumière.

KJV ¹⁷ For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

S21 ¹⁷ Il n'y a en effet rien de caché qui ne doive être mis en lumière, rien de secret qui ne doive être connu et mis au jour.

KJV ¹⁸ Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

S21 ¹⁸ Faites donc bien attention à la manière dont vous écoutez, car on donnera à celui qui a, mais à celui qui n'a pas on enlèvera même ce qu'il croit avoir.»

KJV ¹⁹ Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

S21 ¹⁹ La mère et les frères de Jésus vinrent le trouver, mais ils ne pouvaient pas l'approcher à cause de la foule.

KJV ²⁰ And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

S21 ²⁰ On lui dit: «Ta mère et tes frères sont dehors et ils désirent te voir.»

KJV ²¹ And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

S21 ²¹ Mais il répondit: «Ma mère et mes frères, ce sont ceux qui écoutent la parole de Dieu et qui la mettent en pratique.»

KJV ²² Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

S21 ²² Un jour, Jésus monta dans une barque avec ses disciples. Il leur dit: «Passons sur l'autre rive du lac.» Et ils partirent.

KJV ²³ But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

S21 ²³ Pendant qu'ils naviguaient, Jésus s'endormit. Un tourbillon s'abattit sur le lac, la barque se remplissait d'eau et ils étaient en danger.

KJV ²⁴ And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

S21 ²⁴ Ils s'approchèrent et le réveillèrent en disant: «Maître, maître, nous allons mourir.»
Il se réveilla et menaça le vent et les flots. Ceux-ci s'apaisèrent et il y eut un calme plat.

KJV ²⁵ And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

S21 ²⁵ Puis il leur dit: «Où est votre foi?»
Saisis de frayeur et d'étonnement, ils se dirent les uns aux autres: «Qui est donc cet homme? Il donne des ordres même au vent et à l'eau, et ils lui obéissent!»

KJV ²⁶ And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

S21 ²⁶ Ils abordèrent dans le pays des Gadaréniens, qui est vis-à-vis de la Galilée.

KJV ²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

S21 ²⁷ Lorsque Jésus fut descendu à terre, un homme de la ville vint à sa rencontre; il avait des démons depuis assez longtemps. Il ne portait pas de vêtement et n'habitait pas dans une maison, mais dans les tombeaux.

KJV ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

S21 ²⁸ Quand il vit Jésus, il poussa un cri, se jeta à ses pieds et dit d'une voix forte: «Que me veux-tu, Jésus, Fils du Dieu très-haut? Je t'en supplie, ne me tourmente pas.»

KJV ²⁹ (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

S21 ²⁹ Jésus ordonnait en effet à l'esprit impur de sortir de cet homme, car il s'était emparé de lui depuis longtemps. On attachait le démoniaque avec des chaînes et on lui mettait les fers aux pieds pour le garder, mais il rompait les liens et il était entraîné par le démon dans les endroits déserts.

KJV ³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

S21 ³⁰ Jésus lui demanda: «Quel est ton nom?»
«Légion», répondit-il, car de nombreux démons étaient entrés en lui.

KJV ³¹ And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

S21 ³¹ Ils suppliaient Jésus de ne pas leur ordonner d'aller dans l'abîme.

KJV ³² And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

S21 ³² Il y avait là, sur la montagne, un grand troupeau de porcs en train de chercher à manger. Les démons supplièrent Jésus de leur permettre d'entrer dans ces porcs. Il le leur permit.

KJV ³³ Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

S21 ³³ Les démons sortirent de cet homme, entrèrent dans les porcs, et le troupeau se précipita du haut de la falaise dans le lac et se noya.

KJV ³⁴ When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

KJV ³⁵ Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

KJV ⁴² For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

KJV ⁴³ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

KJV ⁴⁴ Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

S21 ⁴⁴ Elle s'approcha par-derrière et toucha le bord du vêtement de Jésus. Son hémorragie s'arrêta immédiatement.

KJV ⁴⁰ And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

KJV ⁴¹ And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

KJV ⁴² And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

KJV ⁴⁸ And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

S21 ⁴⁸ et leur dit: «Celui qui accueille en mon nom ce petit enfant, c'est moi-même qu'il accueille, et celui qui m'accueille accueille celui qui m'a envoyé. En effet, celui qui est le plus petit parmi vous tous, c'est celui-là qui est grand.»

KJV ⁴⁹ And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

KJV ⁵⁰ And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

KJV ⁵¹ And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

KJV ¹¹ Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

S21 ¹¹ ‘Nous secouons contre vous même la poussière de votre ville qui s'est attachée à nos pieds. Sachez cependant que le royaume de Dieu s'est approché [de vous].'

KJV ¹² But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

S21 ¹² Je vous dis que, ce jour-là, Sodome sera traitée moins sévèrement que cette ville-là.

KJV ¹³ Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

KJV ¹⁴ But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

KJV ²⁴ For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

KJV ²⁵ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
