KJV ⁴ And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

LSG ⁴ Ils arrivèrent auprès de Jésus, et lui adressèrent d'instantes supplications, disant: Il mérite que tu lui accordes cela ;

KJV ⁵ For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

LSG ⁵ car il aime notre nation, et c'est lui qui a bâti notre synagogue.

KJV ⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

LSG ⁶ Jésus, étant allé avec eux, n'était guère éloigné de la maison, quand le centenier envoya des amis pour lui dire: Seigneur, ne prends pas tant de peine ; car je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit.

KJV ⁷ Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

LSG ⁷ C'est aussi pour cela que je ne me suis pas cru digne d'aller en personne vers toi. Mais dis un mot, et mon serviteur sera guéri.

KJV ⁸ For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

LSG ⁸ Car, moi qui suis soumis à des supérieurs, j'ai des soldats sous mes ordres ; et je dis à l'un: Va ! et il va ; à l'autre: Viens ! et il vient ; et à mon serviteur: Fais cela ! et il le fait.

KJV ⁹ When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

LSG ⁹ Lorsque Jésus entendit ces paroles, il admira le centenier, et, se tournant vers la foule qui le suivait, il dit: Je vous le dis, même en Israël je n'ai pas trouvé une aussi grande foi.

KJV ¹⁰ And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

KJV ¹¹ And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

LSG ¹¹ Le jour suivant, Jésus alla dans une ville appelée Naïn ; ses disciples et une grande foule faisaient route avec lui.

KJV ¹² Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

LSG ¹² Lorsqu'il fut près de la porte de la ville, voici, on portait en terre un mort, fils unique de sa mère, qui était veuve ; et il y avait avec elle beaucoup de gens de la ville.

KJV ¹³ And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

LSG ¹³ Le Seigneur, l'ayant vue, fut ému de compassion pour elle, et lui dit: Ne pleure pas !

KJV ¹⁴ And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

KJV ¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

KJV ¹⁶ And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

LSG ¹⁶ Tous furent saisis de crainte, et ils glorifiaient Dieu, disant: Un grand prophète a paru parmi nous, et Dieu a visité son peuple.

KJV ¹⁷ And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

KJV ²⁰ When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

LSG ²⁰ Arrivés auprès de Jésus, ils dirent: Jean Baptiste nous a envoyés vers toi, pour dire: Es-tu celui qui doit venir, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre ?

KJV ²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

LSG ²¹ A l'heure même, Jésus guérit plusieurs personnes de maladies, d'infirmités, et d'esprits malins, et il rendit la vue à plusieurs aveugles.

KJV ²² Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

LSG ²² Et il leur répondit: Allez rapporter à Jean ce que vous avez vu et entendu: les aveugles voient, les boiteux marchent, les lépreux sont purifiés, les sourds entendent, les morts ressuscitent, la bonne nouvelle est annoncée aux pauvres.

KJV ²³ And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

KJV ²⁴ And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

LSG ²⁴ Lorsque les envoyés de Jean furent partis, Jésus se mit à dire à la foule, au sujet de Jean: Qu'êtes-vous allés voir au désert ? un roseau agité par le vent ?

KJV ²⁵ But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

LSG ²⁵ Mais, qu'êtes-vous allés voir ? un homme vêtu d'habits précieux ? Voici, ceux qui portent des habits magnifiques, et qui vivent dans les délices, sont dans les maisons des rois.

KJV ²⁶ But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

LSG ²⁶ Qu'êtes-vous donc allés voir ? un prophète ? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu'un prophète.

KJV ²⁷ This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

KJV ²⁸ For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

LSG ²⁸ Je vous le dis, parmi ceux qui sont nés de femmes, il n'y en a point de plus grand que Jean. Cependant, le plus petit dans le royaume de Dieu est plus grand que lui.

KJV ²⁹ And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

LSG ²⁹ Et tout le peuple qui l'a entendu et même les publicains ont justifié Dieu, en se faisant baptiser du baptême de Jean ;

KJV ³⁰ But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

KJV ³¹ And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

KJV ³² They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

KJV ³³ For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

KJV ³⁴ The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

KJV ³⁵ But wisdom is justified of all her children.

KJV ³⁶ And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

LSG ³⁸ et se tint derrière, aux pieds de Jésus. Elle pleurait ; et bientôt elle lui mouilla les pieds de ses larmes, puis les essuya avec ses cheveux, les baisa, et les oignit de parfum.

KJV ³⁹ Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

LSG ³⁹ Le pharisien qui l'avait invité, voyant cela, dit en lui-même: Si cet homme était prophète, il connaîtrait qui et de quelle espèce est la femme qui le touche, il connaîtrait que c'est une pécheresse.

KJV ⁴⁰ And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

KJV ⁴¹ There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

LSG ⁴¹ Un créancier avait deux débiteurs: l'un devait cinq cents deniers, et l'autre cinquante.

KJV ⁴² And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

LSG ⁴² Comme ils n'avaient pas de quoi payer, il leur remit à tous deux leur dette. Lequel l'aimera le plus ?

KJV ⁴³ Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

LSG ⁴³ Simon répondit: Celui, je pense, auquel il a le plus remis. Jésus lui dit: Tu as bien jugé.

KJV ⁴⁴ And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

LSG ⁴⁴ Puis, se tournant vers la femme, il dit à Simon: Vois-tu cette femme ? Je suis entré dans ta maison, et tu ne m'as point donné d'eau pour laver mes pieds ; mais elle, elle les a mouillés de ses larmes, et les a essuyés avec ses cheveux.

KJV ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

LSG ⁴⁵ Tu ne m'as point donné de baiser ; mais elle, depuis que je suis entré, elle n'a point cessé de me baiser les pieds.

KJV ⁴⁶ My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

LSG ⁴⁶ Tu n'as point versé d'huile sur ma tête ; mais elle, elle a versé du parfum sur mes pieds.

KJV ⁴⁷ Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

LSG ⁴⁷ C'est pourquoi, je te le dis, ses nombreux péchés ont été pardonnés: car elle a beaucoup aimé. Mais celui à qui on pardonne peu aime peu.

KJV ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

KJV ⁴⁹ And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

KJV ⁵⁰ And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

KJV ¹ And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

KJV ⁵ A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

LSG ⁵ Un semeur sortit pour semer sa semence. Comme il semait, une partie de la semence tomba le long du chemin: elle fut foulée aux pieds, et les oiseaux du ciel la mangèrent.

KJV ⁶ And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

LSG ⁶ Une autre partie tomba sur le roc: quand elle fut levée, elle sécha, parce qu'elle n'avait point d'humidité.

KJV ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

LSG ⁷ Une autre partie tomba au milieu des épines: les épines crûrent avec elle, et l'étouffèrent.

KJV ⁸ And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

LSG ⁸ Une autre partie tomba dans la bonne terre: quand elle fut levée, elle donna du fruit au centuple. Après avoir ainsi parlé, Jésus dit à haute voix: Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre entende !

KJV ⁹ And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

LSG ⁹ Ses disciples lui demandèrent ce que signifiait cette parabole.

KJV ¹⁰ And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

LSG ¹⁰ Il répondit: Il vous a été donné de connaître les mystères du royaume de Dieu ; mais pour les autres, cela leur est dit en paraboles, afin qu'en voyant ils ne voient point, et qu'en entendant ils ne comprennent point.

KJV ¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

LSG ¹¹ Voici ce que signifie cette parabole: La semence, c'est la parole de Dieu.

KJV ¹² Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

KJV ¹³ They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

LSG ¹³ Ceux qui sont sur le roc, ce sont ceux qui, lorsqu'ils entendent la parole, la reçoivent avec joie ; mais ils n'ont point de racine, ils croient pour un temps, et ils succombent au moment de la tentation.

KJV ¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

LSG ¹⁴ Ce qui est tombé parmi les épines, ce sont ceux qui, ayant entendu la parole, s'en vont, et la laissent étouffer par les soucis, les richesses et les plaisirs de la vie, et ils ne portent point de fruit qui vienne à maturité.

KJV ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

LSG ¹⁵ Ce qui est tombé dans la bonne terre, ce sont ceux qui, ayant entendu la parole avec un coeur honnête et bon, la retiennent, et portent du fruit avec persévérance.

KJV ¹⁶ No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

LSG ¹⁶ Personne, après avoir allumé une lampe, ne la couvre d'un vase, ou ne la met sous un lit ; mais il la met sur un chandelier, afin que ceux qui entrent voient la lumière.

KJV ¹⁷ For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

LSG ¹⁷ Car il n'est rien de caché qui ne doive être découvert, rien de secret qui ne doive être connu et mis au jour.

KJV ¹⁸ Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

LSG ¹⁸ Prenez donc garde à la manière dont vous écoutez ; car on donnera à celui qui a, mais à celui qui n'a pas on ôtera même ce qu'il croit avoir.

KJV ¹⁹ Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

LSG ¹⁹ La mère et les frères de Jésus vinrent le trouver ; mais ils ne purent l'aborder, à cause de la foule.

KJV ²⁰ And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

LSG ²⁰ On lui dit: Ta mère et tes frères sont dehors, et ils désirent te voir.

KJV ²¹ And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

LSG ²¹ Mais il répondit: Ma mère et mes frères, ce sont ceux qui écoutent la parole de Dieu, et qui la mettent en pratique.

KJV ²² Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

LSG ²² Un jour, Jésus monta dans une barque avec ses disciples. Il leur dit: Passons de l'autre côté du lac. Et ils partirent.

KJV ²³ But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

LSG ²³ Pendant qu'ils naviguaient, Jésus s'endormit. Un tourbillon fondit sur le lac, la barque se remplissait d'eau, et ils étaient en péril.

KJV ²⁴ And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

LSG ²⁴ Ils s'approchèrent et le réveillèrent, en disant: Maître, maître, nous périssons ! S'étant réveillé, il menaça le vent et les flots, qui s'apaisèrent, et le calme revint.

KJV ²⁵ And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

LSG ²⁵ Puis il leur dit: Où est votre foi ? Saisis de frayeur et d'étonnement, ils se dirent les uns aux autres: Quel est donc celui-ci, qui commande même au vent et à l'eau, et à qui ils obéissent ?

KJV ²⁶ And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

LSG ²⁶ Ils abordèrent dans le pays des Géraséniens, qui est vis-à-vis de la Galilée.

KJV ²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

LSG ²⁷ Lorsque Jésus fut descendu à terre, il vint au-devant de lui un homme de la ville, qui était possédé de plusieurs démons. Depuis longtemps il ne portait point de vêtement, et avait sa demeure non dans une maison, mais dans les sépulcres.

KJV ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

LSG ²⁸ Ayant vu Jésus, il poussa un cri, se jeta à ses pieds, et dit d'une voix forte: Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, Jésus, Fils du Dieu Très Haut ? Je t'en supplie, ne me tourmente pas.

KJV ²⁹ (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

LSG ²⁹ Car Jésus commandait à l'esprit impur de sortir de cet homme, dont il s'était emparé depuis longtemps ; on le gardait lié de chaînes et les fers aux pieds, mais il rompait les liens, et il était entraîné par le démon dans les déserts.

KJV ³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

KJV ³² And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

LSG ³² Il y avait là, dans la montagne, un grand troupeau de pourceaux qui paissaient. Et les démons supplièrent Jésus de leur permettre d'entrer dans ces pourceaux. Il le leur permit.

KJV ³³ Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

LSG ³³ Les démons sortirent de cet homme, entrèrent dans les pourceaux, et le troupeau se précipita des pentes escarpées dans le lac, et se noya.

KJV ³⁴ When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

KJV ³⁵ Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

KJV ⁴³ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

KJV ⁴⁴ Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

LSG ⁴⁴ Elle s'approcha par derrière, et toucha le bord du vêtement de Jésus. Au même instant la perte de sang s'arrêta.

KJV ⁴⁵ And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

LSG ⁴⁵ Et Jésus dit: Qui m'a touché ? Comme tous s'en défendaient, Pierre et ceux qui étaient avec lui dirent: Maître, la foule t'entoure et te presse, et tu dis: Qui m'a touché ?

KJV ⁴⁶ And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

LSG ⁴⁶ Mais Jésus répondit: Quelqu'un m'a touché, car j'ai connu qu'une force était sortie de moi.

KJV ⁴⁷ And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

LSG ⁴⁷ La femme, se voyant découverte, vint toute tremblante se jeter à ses pieds, et déclara devant tout le peuple pourquoi elle l'avait touché, et comment elle avait été guérie à l'instant.

KJV ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

LSG ⁴⁸ Jésus lui dit: Ma fille, ta foi t'a sauvée ; va en paix.

KJV ⁴⁹ While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

LSG ⁴⁹ Comme il parlait encore, survint de chez le chef de la synagogue quelqu'un disant: Ta fille est morte ; n'importune pas le maître.

KJV ⁵⁰ But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

KJV ⁵¹ And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

KJV ⁵² And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

KJV ¹ Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

KJV ²¹ And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

LSG ²¹ Jésus leur recommanda sévèrement de ne le dire à personne.

KJV ²² Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

LSG ²² Il ajouta qu'il fallait que le Fils de l'homme souffrît beaucoup, qu'il fût rejeté par les anciens, par les principaux sacrificateurs et par les scribes, qu'il fût mis à mort, et qu'il ressuscitât le troisième jour.

KJV ²³ And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

LSG ²³ Puis il dit à tous: Si quelqu'un veut venir après moi, qu'il renonce à lui-même, qu'il se charge chaque jour de sa croix, et qu'il me suive.

KJV ²⁴ For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

LSG ²⁴ Car celui qui voudra sauver sa vie la perdra, mais celui qui la perdra à cause de moi la sauvera.

KJV ²⁵ For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

LSG ²⁵ Et que servirait-il à un homme de gagner tout le monde, s'il se détruisait ou se perdait lui-même ?

KJV ²⁶ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

LSG ²⁶ Car quiconque aura honte de moi et de mes paroles, le Fils de l'homme aura honte de lui, quand il viendra dans sa gloire, et dans celle du Père et des saints anges.

KJV ²⁷ But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

KJV ³² But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

KJV ³³ And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

KJV ³⁵ And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

KJV ³⁶ And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

KJV ³⁷ And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

KJV ³⁸ And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

KJV ³⁹ And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

LSG ³⁹ Un esprit le saisit, et aussitôt il pousse des cris ; et l'esprit l'agite avec violence, le fait écumer, et a de la peine à se retirer de lui, après l'avoir tout brisé.

KJV ⁴⁰ And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

LSG ⁴⁰ J'ai prié tes disciples de le chasser, et ils n'ont pas pu.

KJV ⁴¹ And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

LSG ⁴¹ Race incrédule et perverse, répondit Jésus, jusqu'à quand serai-je avec vous, et vous supporterai-je ? Amène ici ton fils.

KJV ⁴² And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

KJV ⁴⁵ But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

LSG ⁴⁵ Mais les disciples ne comprenaient pas cette parole ; elle était voilée pour eux, afin qu'ils n'en eussent pas le sens ; et ils craignaient de l'interroger à ce sujet.

KJV ⁴⁶ Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

LSG ⁴⁶ Or, une pensée leur vint à l'esprit, savoir lequel d'entre eux était le plus grand.

KJV ⁴⁷ And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

LSG ⁴⁷ Jésus, voyant la pensée de leur coeur, prit un petit enfant, le plaça près de lui,

KJV ⁴⁸ And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

LSG ⁴⁸ et leur dit: Quiconque reçoit en mon nom ce petit enfant me reçoit moi-même ; et quiconque me reçoit reçoit celui qui m'a envoyé. Car celui qui est le plus petit parmi vous tous, c'est celui-là qui est grand.

KJV ⁴⁹ And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

LSG ⁴⁹ Jean prit la parole, et dit: Maître, nous avons vu un homme qui chasse des démons en ton nom ; et nous l'en avons empêché, parce qu'il ne nous suit pas.

KJV ⁵⁰ And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

LSG ⁵⁰ Ne l'en empêchez pas, lui répondit Jésus ; car qui n'est pas contre vous est pour vous.

KJV ⁵¹ And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

LSG ⁵¹ Lorsque le temps où il devait être enlevé du monde approcha, Jésus prit la résolution de se rendre à Jérusalem.

KJV ⁵² And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

LSG ⁵² Il envoya devant lui des messagers, qui se mirent en route et entrèrent dans un bourg des Samaritains, pour lui préparer un logement.

KJV ⁵³ And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

KJV ⁵⁴ And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

KJV ⁵⁵ But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

KJV ⁵⁶ For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

KJV ⁵⁷ And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

KJV ⁵⁸ And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

LSG ⁵⁸ Jésus lui répondit: Les renards ont des tanières, et les oiseaux du ciel ont des nids: mais le Fils de l'homme n'a pas un lieu où il puisse reposer sa tête.

KJV ⁵⁹ And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

LSG ⁵⁹ Il dit à un autre: Suis-moi. Et il répondit: Seigneur, permets-moi d'aller d'abord ensevelir mon père.

KJV ⁶⁰ Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

KJV ⁶¹ And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

KJV ⁶² And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

LSG ⁶² Jésus lui répondit: Quiconque met la main à la charrue, et regarde en arrière, n'est pas propre au royaume de Dieu.

KJV ¹ After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

LSG ¹ Après cela, le Seigneur désigna encore soixante-dix autres disciples, et il les envoya deux à deux devant lui dans toutes les villes et dans tous les lieux où lui-même devait aller.

KJV ² Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

KJV ³ Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

KJV ⁴ Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

LSG ⁴ Ne portez ni bourse, ni sac, ni souliers, et ne saluez personne en chemin.

KJV ⁵ And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

LSG ⁵ Dans quelque maison que vous entriez, dites d'abord: Que la paix soit sur cette maison !

KJV ⁶ And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

LSG ⁶ Et s'il se trouve là un enfant de paix, votre paix reposera sur lui ; sinon, elle reviendra à vous.

KJV ⁷ And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

LSG ⁷ Demeurez dans cette maison-là, mangeant et buvant ce qu'on vous donnera ; car l'ouvrier mérite son salaire. N'allez pas de maison en maison.

LSG ¹¹ Nous secouons contre vous la poussière même de votre ville qui s'est attachée à nos pieds ; sachez cependant que le royaume de Dieu s'est approché.

KJV ¹² But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

LSG ¹² Je vous dis qu'en ce jour Sodome sera traitée moins rigoureusement que cette ville-là.

KJV ¹³ Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

KJV ¹⁴ But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

LSG ²⁶ Jésus lui dit: Qu'est-il écrit dans la loi ? Qu'y lis-tu ?

KJV ²⁷ And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

LSG ²⁷ Il répondit: Tu aimeras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force, et de toute ta pensée ; et ton prochain comme toi-même.

KJV ²⁸ And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
