KJV ² And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

BAN ³ Et ayant entendu parler de Jésus, il envoya vers lui des anciens des Juifs, pour le prier de venir et de sauver son serviteur.

KJV ³ And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

BAN ⁴ Eux donc étant venus vers Jésus, le priaient instamment, disant : Il est digne que tu lui accordes cela ;

KJV ⁴ And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

BAN ⁵ car il aime notre nation, et c'est lui qui nous a bâti la synagogue.

KJV ⁵ For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

BAN ⁶ Et Jésus s'en allait avec eux ; mais comme déjà il n'était plus éloigné de la maison, le centenier envoya vers lui des amis pour lui dire : Seigneur, ne te fatigue point, car je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit ;

KJV ⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

BAN ⁷ c'est pourquoi je ne me suis pas non plus jugé digne d'aller moi-même vers toi ; mais dis une parole, et mon serviteur sera guéri.

KJV ⁷ Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

BAN ⁸ Car moi aussi, je suis un homme placé sous autorité, ayant sous moi des soldats, et je dis à celui-ci : Va, et il va ; et à un autre : Viens, et il vient ; et à mon serviteur : Fais ceci, et il le fait.

KJV ⁸ For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

BAN ⁹ Or Jésus ayant entendu ces paroles, l'admira ; et se tournant, il dit à la foule qui le suivait : Je vous dis que même en Israël je n'ai pas trouvé une si grande foi.

KJV ⁹ When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

BAN ¹⁰ Et ceux qui avaient été envoyés, étant retournés à la maison, trouvèrent le serviteur en bonne santé.

KJV ¹⁰ And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

BAN ¹¹ Et il arriva, le jour suivant, que Jésus allait à une ville appelée Naïn, et ses disciples fort nombreux et une grande foule allaient avec lui.

KJV ¹¹ And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

BAN ¹² Or, comme il approchait de la porte de la ville, voici, on portait dehors un mort, fils unique de sa mère, qui était veuve. Et une foule considérable de la ville était avec elle.

KJV ¹² Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

BAN ¹³ Et en la voyant, le Seigneur fut ému de compassion envers elle, et il lui dit : Ne pleure point.

KJV ¹³ And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

BAN ¹⁴ Et s'étant approché, il toucha le cercueil, et les porteurs s'arrêtèrent ; et il dit : Jeune homme, je te le dis, lève-toi !

KJV ¹⁴ And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

BAN ¹⁵ Et le mort se leva sur son séant, et se mit à parler. Et il le rendit à sa mère.

KJV ¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

BAN ¹⁶ Or la crainte les saisit tous, et ils glorifiaient Dieu, en disant : Un grand prophète s'est élevé parmi nous, et : Dieu a visité son peuple.

KJV ¹⁶ And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

BAN ¹⁷ Et cette parole se répandit à son sujet par toute la Judée et dans toute la contrée d'alentour.

KJV ¹⁷ And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

BAN ¹⁸ Et les disciples de Jean lui firent rapport sur toutes ces choses.

KJV ¹⁸ And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

BAN ¹⁹ Et Jean, ayant appelé à lui deux de ses disciples, les envoya vers Jésus, pour lui dire : Es-tu celui qui doit venir, ou devons-nous en attendre un autre ?

KJV ¹⁹ And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

BAN ²⁰ Et ces hommes, étant venus vers Jésus, dirent : Jean-Baptiste nous a envoyés vers toi, pour te dire : Es-tu celui qui doit venir ou devons-nous en attendre un autre ?

KJV ²⁰ When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

BAN ²¹ A cette heure même, il guérit plusieurs personnes de maladies, de maux, et de méchants esprits, et il rendit la vue à plusieurs aveugles.

KJV ²¹ And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

BAN ²² Et répondant, il leur dit : Allez et rapportez à Jean ce que vous avez vu et entendu : les aveugles recouvrent la vue, les boiteux marchent, les lépreux sont purifiés, les sourds entendent, les morts ressuscitent, l'Evangile est annoncé aux pauvres.

KJV ²² Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

BAN ²³ Et heureux est celui pour qui je ne serai pas une occasion de chute !

KJV ²³ And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

BAN ²⁴ Mais quand les envoyés de Jean furent partis, il se mit à dire à la foule, au sujet de Jean : Qu'êtes-vous allés voir au désert ? Un roseau agité par le vent ?

KJV ²⁴ And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

BAN ²⁵ Mais qu'êtes-vous allés voir ? Un homme revêtu d'habits délicats ? Voici, ceux qui sont vêtus d'un vêtement magnifique et qui vivent dans les délices sont dans les palais.

KJV ²⁵ But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

BAN ²⁶ Mais qu'êtes-vous allés voir ? Un prophète ? Oui, vous dis-je, et plus qu'un prophète.

KJV ²⁶ But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

BAN ²⁷ C'est ici celui de qui il est écrit : Voici, j'envoie devant ta face mon messager, qui préparera ton chemin devant toi.

KJV ²⁷ This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

BAN ²⁸ Car je vous dis qu'entre ceux qui sont nés de femme il n'y a nul prophète plus grand que Jean ; cependant celui qui est plus petit dans le royaume de Dieu est plus grand que lui.

KJV ²⁸ For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

BAN ²⁹ Et tout le peuple, l'ayant écouté, et les péagers, ont justifié Dieu, en se faisant baptiser du baptême de Jean.

KJV ²⁹ And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

BAN ³⁰ Mais les pharisiens et les légistes ont anéanti le dessein de Dieu à leur égard en ne se faisant pas baptiser par lui.

KJV ³⁰ But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

BAN ³¹ A qui donc comparerai-je les hommes de cette génération, et à qui ressemblent-ils ?

KJV ³¹ And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

BAN ³² Ils ressemblent à des enfants qui sont assis dans une place publique et qui crient les uns aux autres et disent : Nous vous avons joué de la flûte, et vous n'avez point dansé ; nous vous avons chanté des complaintes, et vous n'avez point pleuré.

KJV ³² They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

BAN ³³ Car Jean-Baptiste est venu ne mangeant point de pain, et ne buvant point de vin ; et vous dites : Il a un démon.

KJV ³³ For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

BAN ³⁴ Le fils de l'homme est venu mangeant et buvant, et vous dites : Voici un mangeur et un buveur, un ami des péagers et des pécheurs.

KJV ³⁴ The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

BAN ³⁵ Mais la sagesse a été justifiée de la part de tous ses enfants.

KJV ³⁵ But wisdom is justified of all her children.

BAN ³⁶ Or, l'un des pharisiens l'invitait à manger avec lui ; et étant entré dans la maison du pharisien, il se mit à table.

KJV ³⁶ And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

BAN ³⁷ Et voici, une femme de la ville, qui était pécheresse, ayant appris qu'il était à table dans la maison du pharisien, apporta un vase d'albâtre plein de parfum ;

KJV ³⁷ And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

BAN ³⁸ et se tenant derrière lui, à ses pieds, en pleurant, elle se mit à mouiller ses pieds de ses larmes ; et elle les essuyait avec les cheveux de sa tête ; et elle baisait ses pieds et les oignait de parfum.

KJV ³⁸ And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

BAN ³⁹ Mais le pharisien qui l'avait invité, voyant cela, se dit en lui-même : Si celui-ci était prophète, il connaîtrait qui et de quelle espèce est cette femme qui le touche, il connaîtrait que c'est une pécheresse.

KJV ³⁹ Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

BAN ⁴⁰ Et Jésus répondant lui dit : Simon, j'ai quelque chose à te dire. Maître, parle, dit-il.

KJV ⁴⁰ And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

BAN ⁴¹ Un créancier avait deux débiteurs ; l'un devait cinq cents deniers, l'autre cinquante.

KJV ⁴¹ There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

BAN ⁴² Comme ils n'avaient pas de quoi payer, il leur remit à tous deux la dette. Lequel donc des deux l'aimera le plus ?

KJV ⁴² And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

BAN ⁴³ Simon répondant dit : J'estime que c'est celui à qui il a remis le plus. Jésus lui dit : Tu as bien jugé.

KJV ⁴³ Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

BAN ⁴⁴ Et s'étant tourné vers la femme, il dit à Simon : Vois-tu cette femme ? Je suis entré dans ta maison ; tu ne m'as pas donné d'eau pour les pieds ; mais elle a arrosé mes pieds de larmes et les a essuyés avec ses cheveux.

KJV ⁴⁴ And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

BAN ⁴⁵ Tu ne m'as pas donné de baisers ; mais elle, depuis que je suis entré, elle n'a cessé de me baiser les pieds.

KJV ⁴⁵ Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

BAN ⁴⁶ Tu n'as pas oint ma tête d'huile, mais elle a oint mes pieds de parfum.

KJV ⁴⁶ My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

BAN ⁴⁷ C'est pourquoi, je te le dis, ses péchés qui sont en grand nombre, lui sont pardonnés, car elle a beaucoup aimé, mais celui à qui il est peu pardonné, aime peu.

KJV ⁴⁷ Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

BAN ⁴⁸ Et il dit à la femme : Tes péchés te sont pardonnés.

KJV ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

BAN ⁴⁹ Et ceux, qui étaient à table avec lui se mirent à dire en eux-mêmes : Qui est celui-ci qui même pardonne les péchés ?

KJV ⁴⁹ And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

BAN ⁵⁰ Mais il dit à la femme : Ta foi t'a sauvée ; va en paix.

KJV ⁵⁰ And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

BAN ¹ Et il arriva ensuite qu'il allait de ville en ville, et de village en village, prêchant et annonçant la bonne nouvelle du royaume de Dieu ; et les douze étaient avec lui,

KJV ¹ And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

BAN ² ainsi que quelques femmes, qui avaient été guéries d'esprits malins et d'infirmités : Marie surnommée Madeleine, de laquelle étaient sortis sept démons,

KJV ² And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

BAN ⁵ Le semeur sortit pour semer sa semence ; et comme il semait, une partie tomba le long du chemin et fut foulée, et les oiseaux du ciel la mangèrent.

KJV ⁵ A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

BAN ⁶ Et une autre partie tomba sur le roc, et ayant poussé, elle sécha, parce qu'elle n'avait point d'humidité.

KJV ⁶ And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

BAN ⁷ Et une autre tomba au milieu des épines, et les épines ayant poussé avec elle l'étouffèrent.

KJV ⁷ And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

BAN ⁸ Et une autre tomba dans la bonne terre ; et ayant poussé, elle produisit du fruit au centuple. En disant ces choses, il s'écriait : Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre, entende !

KJV ⁸ And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

BAN ⁹ Et ses disciples lui demandaient ce que signifiait cette parabole.

KJV ⁹ And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

BAN ¹⁰ Et il dit : A vous il est donné de connaître les mystères du royaume de Dieu ; mais aux autres, il leur en est parlé en paraboles ; afin qu'en voyant, ils ne voient pas, et qu'en entendant ils ne comprennent pas.

KJV ¹⁰ And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

BAN ¹¹ Or, voici ce que signifie cette parabole : La semence, c'est la parole de Dieu.

KJV ¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

BAN ¹² Et ceux qui sont le long du chemin, ce sont ceux qui entendent ; ensuite le diable vient et enlève la parole de leur coeur, de peur qu'en croyant ils ne soient sauvés.

KJV ¹² Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

BAN ¹³ Et ceux qui sont sur le roc, ce sont ceux qui, ayant entendu la parole, la reçoivent avec joie ; et pourtant ils n'ont point de racine : ils ne croient que pour un temps, et au moment de la tentation, ils se retirent.

KJV ¹³ They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

BAN ¹⁴ Et ce qui est tombé parmi les épines, ce sont ceux qui, ayant entendu, et s'en allant, sont étouffés par les inquiétudes et par les richesses et par les plaisirs de la vie, et ils ne portent point de fruit qui vienne à maturité.

KJV ¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

BAN ¹⁵ Mais ce qui est dans la bonne terre ce sont ceux qui, ayant entendu la parole, la retiennent dans un coeur honnête et bon, et portent du fruit avec persévérance.

KJV ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

BAN ¹⁶ Or, personne, après avoir allumé une lampe, ne la couvre d'un vase, ni ne la met sous un lit ; mais il la met sur un pied de lampe, afin que ceux qui entrent, voient la lumière.

KJV ¹⁶ No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

BAN ¹⁷ Car il n'y a rien de secret qui ne doive être manifesté, ni rien de caché qui ne doive être connu et venir en évidence.

KJV ¹⁷ For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

BAN ¹⁸ Prenez donc garde de quelle manière vous écoutez ; car quiconque a, il lui sera donné ; et quiconque n'a pas, même ce qu'il croit avoir lui sera ôté.

KJV ¹⁸ Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

BAN ¹⁹ Or sa mère et ses frères vinrent vers lui, et ils ne pouvaient l'aborder à cause de la foule.

KJV ¹⁹ Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

BAN ²⁰ Et on le lui annonça : Ta mère et tes frères sont là dehors, désirant te voir.

KJV ²⁰ And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

BAN ²¹ Mais lui, répondant, leur dit : Ma mère et mes frères, ce sont ceux-là qui écoutent la parole de Dieu et qui la pratiquent.

KJV ²¹ And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

BAN ²² Or il arriva l'un de ces jours, qu'il entra dans une barque avec ses disciples, et il leur dit : Passons à l'autre bord du lac ; et ils prirent le large.

KJV ²² Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

BAN ²³ Et comme ils naviguaient, il s'endormit. Et un tourbillon de vent fondit sur le lac, et la barque s'emplissait, et ils étaient en péril.

KJV ²³ But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

BAN ²⁴ Et s'approchant, ils le réveillèrent, disant : Maître, Maître, nous périssons ! Mais lui, s'étant réveillé, réprimanda le vent et les flots ; et ils s'apaisèrent, et il se fit un grand calme.

KJV ²⁴ And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

BAN ²⁵ Et il leur dit : Où est votre foi. Et saisis de crainte, ils s'étonnèrent, se disant les uns aux autres : Qui est donc celui-ci, qu'il commande aux vents même et à l'eau, et ils lui obéissent ?

KJV ²⁵ And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

BAN ²⁶ Et ils abordèrent au pays des Gadaréniens, qui est vis-à-vis de la Galilée.

KJV ²⁶ And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

BAN ²⁷ Et quand il fut descendu à terre, il vint au-devant de lui un homme de la ville, qui avait des démons depuis longtemps, et il ne revêtait point d'habit et ne demeurait point dans une maison, mais dans les sépulcres.

KJV ²⁷ And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

BAN ²⁸ Et voyant Jésus, il poussa un cri, se jeta à ses pieds et dit d'une voix forte : Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, Jésus, Fils du Dieu Très-Haut ? Je te prie, ne me tourmente point !

KJV ²⁸ When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

BAN ²⁹ En effet Jésus commandait à l'esprit impur de sortir de cet homme. Car il s'était saisi de lui depuis longtemps ; et il était gardé, lié de chaînes et les fers aux pieds, et il rompait ses liens et était emporté par le démon dans les déserts.

KJV ²⁹ (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

BAN ³⁰ Et Jésus l'interrogea, disant : Quel est ton nom ? Et il dit : Légion, parce que plusieurs démons étaient entrés en lui.

KJV ³⁰ And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

BAN ³¹ Et ils le priaient de ne pas leur commander de s'en aller dans l'abîme.

KJV ³¹ And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

BAN ³² Or il y avait là un troupeau de nombreux pourceaux, qui paissaient sur la montagne ; et ils le prièrent qu'il leur permît d'entrer dans ces pourceaux. Et il le leur permit.

KJV ³² And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

BAN ³³ Et les démons étant sortis de cet homme, entrèrent dans les pourceaux, et le troupeau s'élança avec impétuosité en bas la pente dans le lac, et fut noyé.

KJV ³³ Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

BAN ³⁴ Et ceux qui le paissaient, voyant ce qui était arrivé, s'enfuirent et répandirent la nouvelle dans la ville et dans les campagnes.

KJV ³⁴ When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

KJV ⁴⁰ And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

KJV ⁴¹ And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

BAN ⁴² parce qu'il avait une fille unique, âgée d'environ douze ans, et elle se mourait. Et comme Jésus y allait, les foules le serraient.

KJV ⁴² For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

KJV ⁴³ And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

KJV ⁴⁴ Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

BAN ⁴⁵ Et Jésus dit : Qui est-ce qui m'a touché ? Mais comme tous le niaient, Pierre et ceux qui étaient avec lui, dirent : Maître, les foules t'entourent et te pressent.

KJV ⁴⁵ And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

BAN ⁴⁶ Mais Jésus dit : Quelqu'un m'a touché ; car j'ai connu qu'une puissance est sortie de moi.

KJV ⁴⁶ And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

BAN ⁴⁷ Et la femme, voyant qu'elle n'était point restée cachée, vint toute tremblante, et se jetant à ses pieds, déclara devant tout le peuple pour quelle cause elle l'avait touché, et comment elle avait été guérie à l'instant.

KJV ⁴⁷ And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

BAN ⁴⁸ Mais il lui dit : Ma fille, ta foi t'a sauvée ; va en paix.

KJV ⁴⁸ And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

BAN ⁴⁹ Comme il parlait encore, arrive quelqu'un de chez le chef de la synagogue, disant : Ta fille est morte ; ne fatigue pas davantage le Maître.

KJV ⁴⁹ While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

BAN ⁵⁰ Mais Jésus ayant entendu cela, lui répondit : Ne crains point ; crois seulement, et elle sera sauvée.

KJV ⁵⁰ But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

BAN ⁵¹ Et étant arrivé dans la maison, il ne laissa entrer personne, sinon Pierre et Jean et Jacques, et le père de l'enfant et la mère.

KJV ⁵¹ And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

BAN ⁵² Et tous pleuraient, et se lamentaient sur elle ; mais il dit : Ne pleurez point ; elle n'est pas morte, mais elle dort.

KJV ⁵² And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

KJV ⁵⁵ And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

KJV ⁵⁶ And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

BAN ¹ Or, ayant assemblé les douze, il leur donna puissance et autorité sur tous les démons, et le pouvoir de guérir les maladies.

KJV ¹ Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

KJV ² And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

BAN ⁵ Et quant à ceux qui ne vous recevront point, en sortant de cette ville-là, secouez même la poussière de vos pieds, en témoignage contre eux.

KJV ⁵ And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

KJV ⁸ And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

KJV ⁹ And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

BAN ¹⁰ Et les apôtres, étant revenus, lui racontèrent tout ce qu'ils avaient fait. Et les prenant avec lui, il se retira à l'écart, dans une ville appelée Bethsaïda.

KJV ¹⁰ And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

BAN ¹¹ Mais les foules l'ayant appris, le suivirent. Et les ayant accueillies, il leur parlait du royaume de Dieu, et il guérissait ceux qui avaient besoin de guérison.

KJV ¹² And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.

BAN ¹³ Et il leur dit : Donnez-leur vous-mêmes à manger. Mais ils dirent : Nous n'avons pas plus de cinq pains et de deux poissons ; à moins que nous n'allions, nous, acheter des vivres pour tout ce peuple !

KJV ¹³ But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.

BAN ¹⁴ Car ils étaient environ cinq mille hommes. Et il dit à ses disciples : Faites-les asseoir par rangées de cinquante.

KJV ¹⁴ For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

KJV ¹⁹ They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

KJV ²⁰ He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

KJV ²² Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

BAN ²⁶ Car celui qui aura eu honte de moi et de mes paroles, le fils de l'homme aura honte de lui, quand il viendra dans sa gloire, et dans celle du Père et des saints anges.

KJV ²⁶ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

BAN ²⁷ Or je vous le dis en vérité, il y en a quelques-uns de ceux qui sont ici présents, qui ne goûteront point la mort, qu'ils n'aient vu le règne de Dieu.

KJV ²⁷ But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

KJV ²⁸ And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

KJV ²⁹ And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

KJV ³⁰ And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

BAN ³¹ qui, apparaissant en gloire, parlaient de son issue qu'il devait accomplir à Jérusalem.

KJV ³¹ Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

BAN ³² Mais Pierre et ceux qui étaient avec lui étaient accablés de sommeil ; et s'étant réveillés, ils virent sa gloire, et les deux hommes qui étaient avec lui.

KJV ³² But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

BAN ³³ Et il arriva que, comme ils se séparaient de lui, Pierre dit à Jésus : Maître, il est bon que nous soyons ici ; faisons trois tentes, une pour toi et une pour Moïse et une pour Elie. Il ne savait ce qu'il disait.

KJV ³³ And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

BAN ³⁴ Et comme il disait ces choses, il y eut une nuée et elle les couvrait de son ombre ; et ils furent saisis de crainte quand ceux-là entrèrent dans la nuée.

KJV ³⁴ While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

KJV ³⁵ And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

BAN ³⁶ Et comme la voix se faisait entendre, Jésus se trouva seul. Et eux gardèrent le silence, et ne dirent rien à personne, en ces jours-là, de ce qu'ils avaient vu.

KJV ³⁶ And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

KJV ³⁷ And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

BAN ³⁸ Et voici, un homme de la foule s'écria, disant : Maître, je te prie, jette les yeux sur mon fils ; car c'est mon fils unique.

KJV ³⁸ And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.

BAN ³⁹ Et voici, un esprit se saisit de lui, et aussitôt il crie ; et il l'agite violemment, le fait écumer, et à peine le quitte-t-il en le brisant.

KJV ³⁹ And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.

BAN ⁴⁰ Et j'ai prié tes disciples de le chasser, mais ils n'ont pu.

KJV ⁴⁰ And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.

BAN ⁴¹ Et Jésus répondant, dit : génération incrédule et perverse, jusqu'à quand serai-je avec vous et vous supporterai-je ? Amène ici ton fils.

KJV ⁴¹ And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

BAN ⁴² Et tandis qu'il approchait, le démon le jeta par terre, et l'agita violemment. Mais Jésus réprimanda l'esprit impur, et guérit l'enfant, et le rendit à son père.

KJV ⁴² And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

Et comme tous étaient dans l'admiration de tout ce que Jésus faisait, il dit à ses disciples :

KJV ⁴³ And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

BAN ⁴⁴ Pour vous, écoutez bien ces paroles : Le fils de l'homme doit être livré entre les mains des hommes.

KJV ⁴⁴ Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

BAN ⁴⁵ Mais eux ne comprenaient point cette parole ; et elle leur était cachée, afin qu'ils ne la saisissent pas ; et ils craignaient de l'interroger au sujet de cette parole.

KJV ⁴⁵ But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

BAN ⁴⁶ Or il survint entre eux une discussion : lequel d'entre eux était le plus grand.

KJV ⁴⁶ Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

BAN ⁴⁷ Mais Jésus, voyant la pensée de leur coeur, prit un petit enfant et le plaça auprès de lui,

KJV ⁴⁷ And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

BAN ⁴⁸ et il leur dit : Quiconque recevra cet enfant en mon nom, me recevra ; et quiconque me reçoit, reçoit Celui qui m'a envoyé ; car celui qui est le plus petit entre vous tous, celui-là est grand.

KJV ⁴⁸ And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

BAN ⁴⁹ Et Jean, prenant la parole, dit : Maître, nous avons vu quelqu'un qui chassait des démons en ton nom, et nous l'avons empêché, parce qu'il ne te suit pas avec nous.

KJV ⁴⁹ And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

BAN ⁵⁰ Mais Jésus lui dit : Ne l'empêchez point ; car celui qui n'est pas contre vous est pour vous.

KJV ⁵⁰ And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.

BAN ⁵¹ Or il arriva, comme les jours de son élévation s'accomplissaient, que lui-même prit la résolution d'aller à Jérusalem.

KJV ⁵¹ And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

BAN ⁵² Et il envoya des messagers devant lui, qui, étant partis, entrèrent dans une bourgade des Samaritains, pour lui préparer un logement.

KJV ⁵² And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

BAN ⁵³ Et on ne le reçut pas, parce qu'il se dirigeait vers Jérusalem.

KJV ⁵³ And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

BAN ⁵⁴ Or les disciples Jacques et Jean, ayant vu cela, dirent : Seigneur, veux-tu que nous disions que le feu descende du ciel et les consume ?

KJV ⁵⁴ And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

BAN ⁵⁵ Mais lui se tournant, les réprimanda et dit : Vous ne savez de quel esprit vous êtes animés.

KJV ⁵⁵ But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

BAN ⁵⁶ Et ils s'en allèrent à une autre bourgade.

KJV ⁵⁶ For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

BAN ⁵⁷ Et comme ils étaient en chemin, quelqu'un lui dit : Je te suivrai partout où tu iras.

KJV ⁵⁷ And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

BAN ⁵⁸ Et Jésus lui dit : Les renards ont des tanières et les oiseaux du ciel des nids ; mais le fils de l'homme n'a pas où reposer sa tête.

KJV ⁵⁸ And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

BAN ⁵⁹ Et il dit à un autre : Suis-moi. Mais celui-ci dit : Seigneur, permets-moi d'aller d'abord ensevelir mon père.

KJV ⁵⁹ And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

BAN ⁶⁰ Mais Jésus lui dit : Laisse les morts ensevelir leurs morts ; mais toi, va, annonce le royaume de Dieu.

KJV ⁶⁰ Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

BAN ⁶¹ Et un autre aussi lui dit : Je te suivrai, Seigneur, mais permets-moi de prendre d'abord congé de ceux qui sont dans ma maison.

KJV ⁶¹ And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

BAN ⁶² Mais Jésus lui dit : Nul homme qui a mis la main à la charrue et qui regarde en arrière, n'est propre au royaume de Dieu.

KJV ⁶² And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

BAN ¹ Or, après cela, le Seigneur désigna encore soixante et dix autres disciples, et il les envoya deux à deux devant lui, dans toute ville et tout lieu où lui-même devait aller.

KJV ¹ After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

BAN ² Et il leur disait : La moisson est grande, mais il y a peu d'ouvriers ; priez donc le Maître de la moisson qu'il envoie des ouvriers dans sa moisson.

KJV ² Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

KJV ³ Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

BAN ⁴ Ne portez ni bourse, ni sac, ni chaussures, et ne saluez personne en chemin.

KJV ⁴ Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

BAN ⁵ Et dans quelque maison que vous entriez, dites d'abord : Paix à cette maison !

KJV ⁵ And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

BAN ⁶ Et s'il y a là un enfant de paix, votre paix reposera sur lui ; sinon, elle reviendra à vous.

KJV ⁶ And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

BAN ⁷ Et demeurez dans cette maison-là, mangeant et buvant de ce qu'il y a chez eux ; car l'ouvrier est digne de son salaire. Ne passez point de maison en maison.

KJV ⁷ And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

BAN ⁸ Et, dans quelque ville que vous entriez, si l'on vous y reçoit, mangez ce qui vous sera présenté,

KJV ⁸ And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

BAN ⁹ et guérissez les malades qui s'y trouveront, et dites-leur : Le royaume de Dieu s'est approché de vous.

KJV ⁹ And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

BAN ¹⁰ Mais dans quelque ville que vous entriez, si l'on ne vous y reçoit pas, sortez sur ses places publiques, et dites :

KJV ¹⁰ But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

BAN ¹¹ Nous secouons contre vous la poussière même de votre ville qui s'est attachée à nos pieds ; sachez toutefois ceci, c'est que le royaume de Dieu s'est approché.

KJV ¹¹ Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

BAN ¹² Or, je vous dis qu'en ce jour-là le sort de Sodome sera plus supportable que celui de cette ville-là.

KJV ¹² But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

BAN ¹³ Malheur à toi, Chorazin ! malheur à toi, Bethsaïda ! Car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous avaient été faits dans Tyr et dans Sidon, il y a longtemps qu'elles se seraient repenties, en s'asseyant dans le sac et la cendre.

KJV ¹³ Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

BAN ¹⁴ Aussi le sort de Tyr et de Sidon sera plus supportable que le vôtre au jugement.

KJV ¹⁴ But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

BAN ¹⁵ Et toi, Capernaüm, qui as été élevée jusqu'au ciel, tu seras abaissée jusqu'au séjour des morts.

KJV ¹⁵ And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

BAN ¹⁶ Qui vous écoute m'écoute, et qui vous rejette me rejette : et qui me rejette, rejette Celui qui m'a envoyé.

KJV ¹⁶ He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

BAN ¹⁷ Or les soixante et dix revinrent avec joie, disant : Seigneur, les démons mêmes se soumettent à nous en ton nom.

KJV ¹⁷ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

BAN ¹⁸ Et il leur dit : je voyais Satan tomber du ciel comme un éclair.

KJV ¹⁸ And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

BAN ¹⁹ Voici, je vous ai donné le pouvoir de marcher sur les serpents et sur les scorpions, et sur toute la puissance de l'ennemi ; et rien ne vous nuira.

KJV ¹⁹ Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

BAN ²⁰ Toutefois ne vous réjouissez pas de ce que les esprits se soumettent à vous ; mais réjouissez-vous de ce que vos noms sont inscrits dans les cieux.

KJV ²⁰ Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

BAN ²¹ En cette heure même, il tressaillit de joie en son esprit, et dit : Je te loue, Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, de ce que tu as caché ces choses aux sages et aux intelligents, et de ce que tu les as révélées aux enfants ; oui, Père, parce que tel a été ton bon plaisir.

KJV ²¹ In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

BAN ²² Et se tournant vers ses disciples, il dit : Toutes choses m'ont été remises par mon Père ; et nul ne connaît qui est le Fils, sinon le Père ; ni qui est le Père, sinon le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils le veut révéler.

BAN ²³ Et se tournant vers ses disciples, il leur dit en particulier : Heureux les yeux qui voient ce que vous voyez !

BAN ²⁴ Car je vous dis que beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont désiré de voir ce que vous voyez, et ne l'ont point vu ; et d'entendre ce que vous entendez, et ne l'ont point entendu.

KJV ²⁴ For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

BAN ²⁵ Et voici, un certain légiste se leva, le mettant à l'épreuve et disant : Maître, que dois-je faire pour hériter la vie éternelle ?

KJV ²⁵ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

BAN ²⁶ Et il lui dit : Qu'est-il écrit dans la loi ? Comment lis-tu ?

KJV ²⁶ He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

BAN ²⁷ Et lui, répondant, dit : Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force, et de toute ta pensée ; et ton prochain comme toi-même.

KJV ²⁷ And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

BAN ²⁸ Et il lui dit : Tu as bien répondu ; fais cela et tu vivras.

KJV ²⁸ And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

BAN ²⁹ Mais lui, voulant se justifier lui-même, dit à Jésus : Et qui est mon prochain ?

KJV ²⁹ But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

BAN ³⁰ Mais Jésus, reprenant, dit : Un homme descendait de Jérusalem à Jéricho, et il tomba entre les mains de brigands, qui, l'ayant dépouillé de ses vêtements et couvert de blessures, s'en allèrent, le laissant à demi mort.

KJV ³⁰ And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

BAN ³¹ Or, il se rencontra qu'un sacrificateur descendait par ce chemin-là, et l'ayant vu, il passa outre.

KJV ³¹ And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
